As soon as the voice was heard, and the instant the omega was caught, Iden released his grip and let his footing go, allowing him to evade by sliding downhill.

Ramon, you say? Well tell this Ramon fella he oughta introduce himself properly next time!

He wasn't sure whether the last half of his words were heard over the howl, but he did know when he was screwed in a royal fashion. If it weren't for his time constraints, he wouldn't be worried about this unneeded complication.

As he ground to a halt, some many feet downhill, he held his hands up in a tight guard, though he made no move to attack.

S'pose that puts you as the big cheese, then?

Compared to the heavy accent of the Garou's voice, Iden's (dare I say it) American accent sounded incredibly light, and exceptionally out of place. It was almost enough to make him laugh, though he caught himself at just a minor smile.

*The rest of the pack also shifted forms, giving Iden another problem. The crinos form of the Garou was a perfect hybrid. Wide footpads kept their balance, but their forepaws/hands had opposable thumbs for dealing with Iden in the best form. He would again find himself in the middle of a circling pack as thy slid down the slope after him, almost back to where he had first began.
None bothered speaking to him, communicating between themselves in barks and growls, until two of the pack started howling in earnet - a Garou skill that could disorientate and unbalance prey, causing agony to the inner ear. The alpha dropped back and began to form patterns in the dirt with his claws, clearly lining up for some new skill should Iden not succumb to the current attack, and Ramon, now in HIS crinos form, leaping in for the kill*

And here I am, without my weapons...Murphy, you sonofabitch...

His words were mostly to himself, even as he lost his footing to fall on his a**. The thing being, he turned it into a bit of an advantage, much like a really crappy action movie. He landed on his back, and as Ramon bounded at him, his legs flipped up to kick, keeping Ramon's horizontal momentum going and carrying him past his intended target.

So. Now that you guys are here, mind if I ask what's got you all so pissed? I mean, seriously, jackin' a guy up for no good reason...?

He offered a bit of a sheepish grin as he scrambled to his feet, though odds were his momentary lack of balance would cause him hell from the rest of the pack, least so far as he knew.

Filthy cainite...

*And that was all the explanation Iden would get as the group attacked as one. Each of them seemed to glow briefly - the invocation of the talent Open Wounds. Should ANY of them even scratch Iden, the wound would bleed profusely. Coupled with this, the alpha male had finished setting up his secondary attack - should Iden make clear ground, he would use Thunder Clap, which would stun anyone in front of him for 30 seconds.

And to mak ematters worse, it was a mere two hours till dawn*

Well sonofabitch....

He held his fist to the sky, as if cursing some as yet nameless party, just before the pack closed the distance.

As they closed the distance and rushed him, he began to tap into his skill with celerity, simply because in this situation, if he let them get the edge on mobility, he wouldn't be walking away. He swore cheerfully with each swing that he ducked, tumbled, and staggered around, evading more by luck than anything else. His progress down the hill, at this rate, though, was becoming rather noteworthy, and he was getting rather grumpy in that sense.

He was waiting, though. Once the ideal moment (or, really, the ideal swing) came, he used the chance to bound on TOP of the Garou throwing the blow, and used him as a springboard straight for the alpha, seeing as he was uphill, charging something nasty, and had to watch out for his packmates. Or, at least, Iden HOPED he was watching out for his packmates.

*The alpha was suprised - it wasnt often a cainite deliberately jumped for a Garou, much less the alpha of a pack, and for that reason, he hesitated for a second, only bringing his arm sup to protect himself at the last second instead of thinking to grab Iden. That didnt stop the automatic snap of his jaws over the top however, the size and power of his jaws enough to bite right through Idens neck if he wasnt careful.*

Clearly, these Garou had never met Iden before...he did stupid s**t like that ALL the time. It was like part of who he was dictated that he take the most kamikaze tactic open to him. Pity he didn't have any grenades on him.

As for the alpha, Iden wasn't worried about the jaws coming from OVER the arms, because he went UNDER them. He lowered himself, and shoulder tackled the Garou in the lower midsection. While it outweighed him by a fair amount, he was lower than it was, and was simply attempting to send the Garou DOWN the hill, while Iden continued to scramble UP the hill. It was less about size and more about whether he could manage to apply the force he COULD bring to bear in the right place to send the alpha tumbling over his shoulders.

*Partly it was suprise, partly it was luck, but MOSTLY, it was Idens act coupled with the rest of the pack closing in and thus tripping the alpha as he flailed backward strying to keep his footing that sent him crashing to the floor, the entire pack sliding back a good two meters while Iden was free to continue up. It wouldnt be long however before they were up and after him again, the alpha still holding skills in reserve if Iden hung around too long.
The first to rise would be the alpha female, in a blur of noise aimed to make Iden lose his foting, followed closely by other pack mates who were faster, not caring abotu cutting their footpads on loose scree as long as they brought the infernal cainite down...*

He was on all fours, scrambling uphill, not worried about hurt himself. With celerity, the closest thing a cainite can get to an adrenaline rush, and a better distribution of weight, he was hauling a** up the hill faster than the scree could slide him back down, which meant he was moving at a reasonable pace. It also made it harder for him to slip, just because he wasn't relying on two limbs with poor grip to carry him.

And for the record? He was laughing like an idiot as he scrambled uphill for dear unlife.

*Unwittingly, Iden was doing the best thing he could to slow his pursuers down - the scree sliding down behind his passage was bouncing off his enemies skulls, preventing their skills from being used.
Presently, about half way up the slpe, he would find the going suddenly easier... once he got over the massive rift between him and the loamy forest edge that climbed up towards the ruins of course.
The chasm was not impossible to slide down, but getting up the other side woudl be next to monumental as the sides were sheer rock.
Jumping it would be a difficulty, due to the width of about 8 meters, and, of course... 8 very angry wolves were on his tail...*

Come 'n get it, kids! Come 'n get it!

With the sudden ease of passage, he REALLY took off, being able to more fully use his speed to his advantage. He was bookin' it, making for one helluva sprint. And when the chasm came?

Oh SHIIIIIIIIIIIIII---......

The exclamation was cut a bit short as he pumped his arms forward, calling upon one of Roan's first lessons to him as he bodily flung towards the far edge. Sure, he would be a little ways down from the lip of the slope, but with a punch like that, he had a perfect handhold. It was easier, as it were, to punch into rock than it was to punch into steel, and once he had one handhold, he'd start scrambling up the slope, making his own points of grip as he went.

*With the issue of the chasm, Iden would be free of the Garou... for now. The chasm was only so long and the snarling beasts shifted back to full wolf to run the length of it, intending to round the edge and head up in a diagonal track to meet with Iden again near the top. In between now and then... Iden had teh fun challenge of the rest of the chasm to climb, followed by the forest afterwards. For all it was easier grip wise, the forest was full of thorns and brambles, low branches and scrub bused which held the soil together. Progress still would not be the fastest it could be, and by no means easy going. An hour left till dawn, and the Garou were USED to this terrain.*

The climb up the chasm was not so difficult, once the initial shock from the violent slam into the rock wore off. He was still on the high from his flight from the Garou, and when he reached the lip, he didn't bother to see if they were following him to pick up into a run again.

The thing being, with so much underbrush, going was to be slow, right? Well, soon as it got thick, Iden's legs coiled, and he sprang upwards, and snatched hold of a tree limb. From there, he began moving through the trees, relying on his quick reflexes, high agility, and good balance to see him through at a speed higher than he could have reached on the ground, with so much underbrush to tangle him up. He was still going to be pushing it, though, with dawn approaching so rapidly.

*This final good judgement call would indeed see Iden to the edge of the ruins before the Garou could catch up, and he woudl be treated to watching the Prince stalk across the open ground of the ruins to his location, a mere hand wave enough to send the trailing pack back down the mountain amid howls and yelps. Just what the Prince had done to them was unclear, but he would teach Iden in time*

Good. You made it. There is vitae in the pitchers near the fire. I will be resting for teh day in the large building at the back. WHen I wake, we will begin your training. You will need to make yourself a weapon between now and then. Have a good day.

*And that was it. Then the Prince turned on his heel, vanished into the building he had indicated, and soon enough was lost to the torpor of the day, though he did not lay himself out on a slab, oh no. He simply sank into the earth to sleep*

As he was greeted by the Prince, Iden couldn't help but to grin broadly, and at the yelps behind him, he offered a theatrical bow to the fleeing Garou.

Thank you, come again!

He straightened out, and spun to face Raoul, the joyous grin faded back down to his normal dull expression as he listened to his words. He nodded in understanding, and pulled from his pocket a small knife, which he flicked open.

It was a small blade, the sort that was handy for many purposes, but never for a fight.

Aye aye, cap'n.

As the Prince vanished, Iden saw fit to help himself to the vitae, then he walked ever calmly out of the ruins and back into the trees. He didn't wander too far, but he was looking for something. It wouldn't take but an hour to find a proper length of wood to work with. The long part would come when he arrived back at the ruins and began whittling away at it, sharpening one end to harden in the fire. A primitive spear, not nearly the quality of weapon he was used to, but orders were orders.
