"Water is good," Lin replied with a grin.

Besides she wasn't much for cider, it was different from juice she knew that much. So she would just have water, since she didn't like milk neither. And she wasn't old enough to have anything else.

Going up to the first sandwhich she began to squish the bread down, which is how she tended to eat her sandwiches.

"Nope!" Lin smiled since her first piece of sandwich was nice and flat, so she could nibble on the end, "Everything is all good and yummy!"

She was like a little mouse that would nibble at the end of her food, which made sense considering her size.

The light was indeed fading, and far too quickly for Halmir's liking. He sketched furiously, and as the last rays of the sun sank below the forested horizon, he set his pencil aside and looked at the drawing he had been left with.

"If only I had more time," he murmured softly to himself, his storm-gray eyes reflecting a deeply-seated sorrow.

"I guess that's it for tonight," Aliya announced, standing and stretching her back to get rid of the stiffness that had begun to set in. Standing bent over like that for that long was not at all comfortable, she decided.

"Let us see it now," she grinned at Halmir, bounding over to him and leaning on his shoulder to try to take a look at the picture he had drawn.

It was too dark now, though, to see anything, and she sighed with disappointment.

Halmir rolled it up and held it out to her. "You can look at it in the morning, after I've gone," he smiled at her, his scar twisting grotesquely.

"Good night," Donovan returned as he sat down to watch Lin eat and to wait for the others, if they were going to come in to grab a bite to eat before returning.

At least, that is what he hoped, he had no idea where the twins or Aliya could have gone off to at the moment.

"Nighty night!" Lin called out as she pounced on another piece of her sandwich.

Halmir bowed to Feng. "The honour is all mine, I assure you," he told her delightedly in his growling voice. "It is rare that I have the opportunity to behold two such great beauties, and an honour indeed!"

"You'll probably be gone by the time we get here in the morning, won't you?" Aliya asked him, tucking the rolled-up picture under her arm.

Halmir shrugged. "It depends," he replied softly, "on when Donovan wishes to leave. I suspect he is anxious, but he will have to first learn from Lord Ulrich the location of those he seeks."

"Ah...."

Donovan wasn't all that use to sleeping with the children, even though it was done a few times, but that was in Kara's presence. He had always felt it was becaue they were attracted to the need to have someone protective namely Kara in the same bed with them.

"Probably with Cindy would be for the best," Donovan murmured.


"All I need is a small blankie and a pillow and I'm good," Lin added.

Which was because she was so small she oftened ended up sleeping on the pillow instead.

Elrohir chuckled and nodded. "As soon as you're finished, then," he grinned at Lin. "Take your time, though, don't rush it or you'll make yourself ill."

The only light in the kitchen now was the light that was coming from the fireplace, which he would have to put out on their way upstairs.
