Natalia Romanova I haven't even started yet on the Christmas shopping. gonk
I'm watchin' people play Red Steel and it's really distracting. I'm supposed to be doing homework. I've given up, hence the being on Gaia deal. Who wants to write a research paper on the overthrow of the Hawaii Monarchy and the modern fight for sovereignty? I didn't know there was a Hawaiian monarcy. sweatdrop

Who wants to write a research paper on the overthrow of the Hawaii Monarchy and the modern fight for sovereignty? I didn't know there was a Hawaiian monarcy. sweatdrop You are not the only one my friend. Generally speaking a lot of people don't know much of Hawaiian history other then Dec. 7th, 1941 Pearl Harbor.
And yeah, Hawaii was a monarchy that was overthrown in 1893. A modern movement is abrewin' to return to sovereignty since the late 70s. Since we became a state through a resolution rather then a proposition and the plebiscite for residents to vote on didn't include 'sovereign nation' only 'territory' or 'state'- in 1993 Clinton signed United States Public Law 103-150 which acknowledged that the Hawaiian people never surrendered their sovereignty. It's a slightly complex situation.
But the only thing you guys need to know if you visit is to never honk your damn car horn in anger. mad
