OMG. scream I want to murder my local friends so much.

May I recommend Pyromaniac's Flame Thrower Assault 9600? It can hold up to 100 gallons of gasoline for prime fire, has a maximum 100 yard distance and doubles as a small grenade launcher.

I'm not a Pyromaniac. Plus I'm looking for something that won't leave any suspicion.

3nodding

Then may I suggest a BFG 9000? Complete incineration, light-weight, and easy to dispose of.

Bah, my friend likes to get so confrontational with me when it comes to things like music, games, TV, etc. We got on the subject of ska and skacore bands when he tells me:

Friend: Less Than Jake isn't skacore, it's ska punk. [Insert some other things that I can't remember.] *Note: He said this in a rather arrogant tone, which annoyed me*

Me: Dude, first of all, you don't listen to ska and skacore as much as I do, hell, you don't even listen to at all. Second of all, you haven't learned most of all your information about skacore from a man who has spent most of his life around the music and in a place where the music there is mainly ska, punk, and skacore, so don't try to correct me on a subject you know next to nothing about, because, frankly, you don't know about it.

Friend: So... Sony's press conference for E3 is today... *Totally changes the subject*

He's a cool guy, he just tries to prove himself right at almost every single point that's brought up. sweatdrop

He doesn't think that skacore isn't essentially ska with a pun/metal edge?

And he hasn't heard all the songs that show that LTJ has plenty of metal chops?

What exactly does he think Skacore means?

I think he may have heard... Two or three LTJ songs, along with some other assorted skacore bands. And yeah, he thinks that skacore is somewhat similar, but different then ska-punk. But, if I'm correct, ska-punk and skacore are the exact same thing.

Sooo...

Sony's press conference for E3:

PS3 is looking pretty good for the few in-game videos I saw, the CGIs for the videos, I'll admit, were ******** excellent. The PSP is going to have a built-in camera and other stuff in the future? Sounds sorta interesting, but I'm not really holding my breath for it. sweatdrop

Their controller for the PS3 looks almost exactly like the PS2 controller, 'cept for a catch, it has six degrees of motion-sensing tilt, similar to the Wii's controller. And for the big news, pricing:

Playstation 3 with the 20GB built-in harddrive - $499
Playstation 3 with the 60GB built-in harddrive - $599

Okay! Reviews resumed now that my sound is working after a reboot. whee I should note that these aren't presented in the order I originaly wrote them, so some of the later-written reviews (which may appear first) got a lot shorter as I got tired.
Does that even make sense?

"Friendship Test" FMA - Ha hah [/Nelson]. I don't know what to say about this one except that it made me laugh. Several times. It's almost disturbing how well the video can be matched up with the words. xd

"In My Mind" Various - Touching, sweet, and pretty, with nice visuals and well-matched to the song. Effects were good. I tend to go more for energetic/wacky, so it's not really my thing, but it was certainly enjoyable and well worth keeping.

"Waking Hour" - Kind of like the above. Very pretty and the visuals and audio mesh up quite nicely. I think it would've had a bit more emotional impact if I'd seen the show, but still quite nice.

"Still Preoccupied..." Azumanga - Hee. I've always liked this song, and it's a good video. There were points when the main portion of the video didn't really seem to match very well, so much as just random images of the character looking upset. sweatdrop I've never seen Azumanga, though, so I don't really know what to make of it. The "pop culture icons" were the highlight for me. I still love Mewtwo = U2, and yes, NERVana was great. xd St. Elmo's Fire also made me laugh.

"I Walk Alone" Various - Yeah, Shinji is so hardcore. cool *cough* Actually, I think my least favourite inclusion was Trunks; character-wise, I imagine he's okay, but the style/quality of the video was so off from all the other series that it really stood out and was not so asthetically pleasing. Otherwise, a good video. I likes.

"Quid Pro Quo" Yami no Matsuei - Oh, crap. This may be my favourite of everything on this list. It made me laugh. So hard. I imagine you don't have to know the show/characters to enjoy it, but having seen the show adds a whole extra level of amusement. Hell yes.

"Date Rape" FMA - I don't know. It was well timed and everything worked well. I just have a hard time finding the whole concept behind it, the date rape thing, amusing. Not so much that it offended me, because I don't really think it was done in poor taste per se, there's just something about rape that doesn't tickle my funny bone. So I couldn't really enjoy it quite as much as perhaps I might. The bit with Al at the end made me want to cry. But in a good way.

"View to a Kill" City Hunter/SM - Holy crap. It seems like it must have taken an incredible amount of work to get this one. At times the shadowed-out effect got a bit bothersome and looked tacky, but for the most part, a very well-done video and it must've taken some serious effort. I also realized after the fact that I already had another AMV by this creator which I really liked. (Villainous Destiny, for the record.)

"Lost Soul" FMA - Zomgord. Or something. It was quite nice, well-timed and stuff. And I liked it. Yes. Purty.

"Always Hardcore" FMA - Pretty cool, I liked the lip-synching and it was nice and energetic, which made for a fun video. WHEE! Yeah, I'm totally running out of stuff to say. Somehow, I don't think I ever would've thought to associate this song with FMA, but it worked.

I...think that's it for what I got of the recommendations, though that doesn't seem like much. I also downloaded a bunch of other stuff, too, so I wrote these up (before writing most of the above, actually).

"Flask Pochette" Rozen Maiden - I'm pretty certain Zely didn't mention this one, but I downloaded it. There's hardly a moment in this AMV without some sort of special effect, which can be a bit overwhelming and borders on being tacky. However, I if I try to forget to be critical, it generally does look quite nice and the moment with the bricks is particularly impressive. The song's not in English so I can't say much for how well it matches the lyrics, but it does a pretty good job of matching the tone as a semi-action video. Overall, it's shiny and seems to do what it was intended to do.

"When No One Else Was Looking" Rozen Maiden - Another I just happened to snag. Subtitles in AMVs make Mala a sad bear. They spoil what would otherwise be an above-average AMV. Nothing really exceptional, but a nice little drama/character profile vid with some decent clip choices that match up well with the feel & lyrics of the song, even though they do tend to run on a scene a little longer than I would prefer. Still decent enough that I kept it, though I would've liked it a lot more without the blasted fansubtitles.

"It's Tricky (To Make A Music Video)" Various - This one made me giggle. A parody of other AMVs, the creator manages to cover a lot of AMV cliches all in one video, while still doing a pretty good job with synching and making it fun. My biggest gripe is how the creator sounds in his description on AMV.org. sweatdrop I was admittedly skimming, so maybe I missed something, but he sounded more bitter about the success/popularity of some of the AMVs rather than lovingly poking fun at them. Still, an enjoyable and amusing AMV.

"Anime Montage" set to Mope, Various - I'm sure this one is quite old, but I just got it, so it gets a review. So there. Now, I admit to a bias because I really enjoy the Bloodhound Gang, but this AMV amused me. Oh, yes. The video quality isn't great, and the clip choice doesn't always seem perfect, but I don't care. It still made me giggle numerous times. My biggest complaint is the painfully long time they show the group's logo at the start of the video. But that can be skipped. And the Pacman bit made me so happy inside.

"Isobel" Princess Mononoke - Another one I just happened to get. Man, I randomly yoinked a lot of stuff. Not an exceptional video, but I enjoy Bjork and the mood of the song fit the video quite nicely. But Bjork is just cool like that. I was a bit bugged by what felt like excessive use of the bloody-face scene, but it probably wasn't as bad as I remember it.

"Dare to be Stupid" Zim, Trigun, Transformers - Another undoubtedly old one, but that hasn't stopped me yet. The mixing of series didn't make a lot of sense to me and the distribution of clips was uneven enough that it seems like they would've done better to just drop the others and stick with one, or maybe a clip or two from each for the sake of being random. The first time there was a break in the song to skip to regular audio, it worked well, the second time around felt too close to the first and didn't work as well. Overall, though, the video clips were quite well matched to the audio and it was generally quite amusing.

"Stupid Gir" Zim - Since I was on a roll...another Zim video. I was enormously impressed that the creator actually went to the effort of dubbing out all the "l"s in "Stupid Girl" and really made it into "Stupid Gir". sweatdrop An interesting touch. I was also surprised how well the video could mesh up with such a slow-paced sort of song. But it did.

... Done'd!! scream

Not too bad. Remember, this is comparable to the higher tier xbox package.

And Sony is always more than happy to lower the prices. Plus, isn't their online service supposed to be free?

Creative's a good choice. I have their 30 gig MP3 player and it's plenty of room for my music. Plus, it's pretty durable [/speaking from experience]
xd heart

I can't imagine needing 30GB for a portable player. sweatdrop I've only got about 12GB on my computer and I really wouldn't be interested in taking all of that with me. Granted, if I burned all my CDs, I could nearly double that, but... For all that I'd only be listening for a few hours of time, I couldn't go through nearly that much music. I think the 8GB is going to be excessive for me.

But I did see some other reviewers mention the durability, which is nice. whee

True. Free Online is good, but compared to the price for the PS2 (which I thought to be pretty expensive at the time as well) this is really high.

Not sure if I'll get it while it's at that price or, if I do, which I get. Probably depends what exactly the harddrive does.

Yeah, thinking about it, it's a pretty good price considering what you're getting. But looking at it from a normal/casual gamer stand-point, $500-$600 is still pushing the envelope a bit. I mean, I'll get a PS3 eventually, especially with MGS4 coming out on it, but yeah, right now the price has totally knocked me out of any running on getting it.

Probably the 500 dollar one, although 40 gigs is probably worth the 100 bucks. We'll see. Launch titles will be awesome.

The sad thing is.. as a person who plays very little games............. I'll probably end up buying it. But not right away. I've seen enough disasters with people buying 1st edition 360's and PS2 to know that it's wiser to wait until they work most of the kinks out. stare
