"Terrible," Cody managed. But his lips twitched slightly. "You okay?" He echoed. He winced as he moved his wounded arm.

"Yeah, love. I'm fine! Just waiting. Nono-- don't move." Dari's breathing picked up a bit. "You haven't started healing yet. I mean, not like Toby. He's been visiting."

Cody's grip on Dari's hand grew tighter. He didn't seem to be seeing the room anymore. Red with black images of wolves and monsters Cody didn't have names for. He closed his eyes tightly.

"Love? Are you okay?" Dari squeezed his hand back. What was going on? He seemed to have lost him for a second there.

Cody pulled away from Dari abruptly. He tried to sit up, to get away from whatever he was seeing. Failing that, his hand latched onto Dari's, opening his eyes wide.

Dari held on tight. No, you were hooked up to things, you couldn't fall out of the bed without getting more hurt. Plus, your hurt arm was on that side.
"NURSE."
A man in medical uniform turned toward them and then came rushing in.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"I'm not sure..."

Dari was holding him here! Why? Those creatures were going to kill them both! Cody tried to tug away again, not seeming to notice the nurse.

The nurse rushed out and made a call, then rushed back in and helped Dari to keep Cody put.
"He's hallucinating," the nurse said, "Most likely."
"What?"
"It's a part of turning, Agent Yraudhen says."

There were two people--was it people?! Had the monsters reached them?! He tried squirming away from their hold. "No, no, no. Lemme go!" He had to make sure whatever was out there didn't get to Dari!

Cody turned to Dari. His voice seemed to have snap him out of it, at least somewhat. He was sweating and breathing heavily. "Love..."

"Heeey. Hey, Love," Dari said, smiling. He was trying to keep him in reality, knowing that words never really worked but trying anyway. "You have to relax."

Cody took Dari's hand again. His grip was tight, his eyes wandering over Dari. "You're alright," he observed, quietly.

"Right as rain," Dari assured him. "It's okay, love. You're seeing things. If we were in danger, I'd tell you. Hell, I'd run you out of here myself."

Seeing things... Dari did seem to be alright. He wasn't on the floor in a puddle. He wasn't losing liquids. "Stay," he said. Grip on Dari's hand tightening briefly. It loosened as his eyeslids began to flutter.
