Toph and Rol: lol I used to think that too. But I've come to accept and even appreciate the clauses.
With the clauses you know you won't be fighting an evasive pokemon, you won't have more than one pokemon asleep, you won't encounter a Mewtwo or a Garchomp, Flinches and Crits will be less frequent, ETC.

That's true... I'm so lazy though...
Maybe. I think I'll have more fun just being trainer and strategist. I'm like Professor Elm, but actually useful! XD

See, I don't mind statuses too much, though I will admit that having pretty much everything asleep is totally dumb and stupid, but alack I don't feel it should be disallowed. It's still a cheap-a** move, but depending on situation I don't think it needs to be claused. I really hate Evasion though, but I feel the same way, even if it's REALLY annoying.
Luck, however. I have no problem with Luck boosting at all. So, go ahead Serene Grace and Razor Claw and Super Luck and all that jazz.
I also wholeheartedly agree with the tiers, because it makes sure that you actually have a chance, at least, with your opponent. It's more strategy and wit than who has the best Yu-Gi -- er, Pokémon -- ever.

"Every scar is a lesson...It's like Magic, I guess. In tourneys, they have cards that are banned because they are so good. Hell, I have a card that says if I get a certain amount of life, I win the game (However, not like how you all just lost the game) It's banned from tourneys and official games, but that doesn't mean I can't get together with a few friends and use it in one of my decks.
It just makes no sense to me. For every factor of that game, there is a way to defend against it. It's planning for them, defending against them, and all that that makes it fun and not work. ...Every battle a test of what you have learned."

Ok, question for all!
Since gen 3 are the oldest games you can carry over your Pokemon and Items from, gen 1 and 2 are off limits in your answers.
Which game did you start with, gen 3 and up?
Mine was Colosseum! In fact, the Umbreon I got in that game is currently in my Dark team.

I'm alright with playing with friends the way you want to play.
However, when it's a tournament or a competition, I think there should be some rules set to provide some balancing from truly cheap tactics. I don't think that casual one-on-one battles in the guild should be regulated to using particular clauses. However, official guild events, like Gym Leaders perhaps or tournaments, should abide by some kind of balancing rule so it prevents the LOL-I-HAVE-A-BEAST things.

I started back with Red and Blue lol then got Gold, then Ruby, then randomly found emerald after 2 or 3 years of ditching pokemon...then found out there were diamond and pearl and platinum so I felt so lost then lol but I bough a used Diamond, and now I have Soul Silver, then I plan to get Black

"Every scar is a lesson...My first game, technically, was Gold. Found it when I was helping a friend move and took it and played it.
Shortly after that, my ex bought me a DS and Diamond. That's the first game I had that I still have Pokemon from.
And I completely agree with rules in tournaments to a certain extent. Some things are ok, but it comes to a point when it crosses being "ok" and hits "ridiculously restrictive".
So, your opponent uses double team and you aren't packing sweet scent/ odor sleuth/ swift/ aerial ace? Seriously? Four moves right off the top of my head to combat it, and not one of your pokemon has it? Something like that, in my opinion, should not be the evaders fault. ...Every battle a test of what you have learned."
