Amy listened intently to Karrie and then blushed again when he gently pulled her arm away from her stomach. "Really? Uh, well, thanks. I actually have done my own henna tattoos for awhile now. Sometimes I take some green body paint and fill it in, but I didn't want to today. I wanted to see how it looked for tomorrow for the grand opening, but I might just wear something else altogether instead. Now that Thistle's almost better, she's been having fun all day with my clothes. I think you're right. I think she did miss me. But she's come up with this really cute number that I was thinking of wearing tomorrow instead of my original outfit that would show off the tattoo."

She sighed and laughed lowly as she shook her head. "And again I go way off topic. I guess I'm so happy to have Thistle back that I'm rambling now. I didn't bring her in today, though, because she still is a little weak and I don't want to push her."

She reached into the band of her skirt and pulled out a small silver key. She handed it to Karrie. "This is the key to the building. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to make a copy, yet, for you or your staff. If you want, you can make some copies."

She pulled a $20 bill out of the other side of her skirt and handed it to Karrie. "That's to cover the cost of any key copies you make and any supplies you might need tomorrow. If you need more, just let me know."

Amy smiled and looked down at the ground. "Well, thanks. I can draw some pretty cool things, but my handwriting still sucks. If you want, I can give you a henna tattoo sometime. It wears off in about 2 weeks."

She laughed softly and then looked back up at Karrie. "And speaking of Thistle, I had an idea I wanted to run by you quickly about some of your pet food. Do you think in the future when you have some more time, you might consider working on some food that has some medicine in it that can help magical creatures that are sick? Or possibly give them relief of some kind? I mean, maybe Velcore could help you by gathering some special ingredients. He always seems to know where special items are. Maybe he could find something that would work well in pet medicine."

She shrugged. "Just food for thought... no pun intended."

She moved forward to hug Karrie good bye, but then she remembered what happened last night and she stopped herself, which looked a little odd. She didn't want to feel that rejection again, and she didn't want to make Karrie feel weird. He might even have a bigger negative reaction to her hug since she didn't have on a proper shirt.

So, she looked over at the counter awkwardly and then rested one of her hands on the edge of it. "Uh, well, thanks for stopping by Karrie and checking in. I can't wait for tomorrow and to see you there."

She turned and gave him a half smile.

Amy sighed as Karrie walked out of the bar. A one-armed hug? God, he might as well have not hugged her. She hated it when people took pity on someone and forced themselves to give that person a half-hug. She hoped that if he didn't want to touch her that badly, he'd either avoid her tomorrow or just stay 5 feet away from her when they talked. Where was the old Karrie? Surely him getting over Dame had nothing to do with his aversion to even hugging her, though.

She sighed and went back behind the bar. She liked the idea of giving Karrie a henna tattoo. She had only ever practiced on herself before. Maybe she could give him a chest or shoulder blade tattoo. She'd have a bigger canvas that way. She just hoped he didn't hate the smell too much. The smell of the plants that made the paste was awful. She sometimes put Vix under her nose to help with the smell.

Amy sighed and went back to working on the contraption. Since she was sitting behind the bar now, the counter covered most of her body. So, she didn't worry about changing her shirt anymore. It was cooler this way, anyway.

She worked on the machine for another hour before she went home. She almost had it working, but there were still a few bugs she had to work out. Luckily, she kept the machine by the sink so that no one would come in and try to use it... if anyone actually did come in.
