Tommy's reminding me of Phantasy Star Online / PSZero.
Every once in a while you'll find the remains of a monster (Claw, feather, arm, etc)
Then you take the 'Enemy Parts' to a certain NPC and they'll make stuff from it. Usually weapons, but not always.

I like how all the characters react differently to Kain's request.
Maddy doesn't want to become a monster

And Thardie wants to slice it open like a christmas turkey

Not that I want to, but if he attacks to kill, then I'll do what I have to to protect myself. Call it a Klingon or samurai thing... letting your opponent die in battle, rather than standing around telling someone where to put the knife.
