hilaroma OMG, the only reason I know what LARPing is, is because my friend got into it through her boyfriend. It is soooo hilariously nerdy. And I saw a group of LARPers meeting at my school about a week ago. They kind of scare me... xp I still only have a vague idea of what LARPing is. But that's enough for me not to want to know any more.

So prom was yesterday. Pretty fun, did whatever I could for dancing 'cause I don't understand this hip and new grinding, doggy style, etc style of dance. xd They served us prime rib which, wasn't that good, but being the only real meal there, I ate it all. Ended around 12:30am, came back from the dance floor only to find my camera and my date's purse (with money, her school ID, and sister's cellphone) gone/stolen. gonk We heard that we should go to teachers if we're missing anything, so I went to one and told him I was missing some stuff, his response was, "HAHAHAHA!!! Goodluck." Walking away rather annoyed at his "help" I respond rather softly with a, "Yeah, thanks a*****e." Anyway, I was told check with one of the staff people at school tomorrow for lost stuff, so hopefully someone was nice enough and turned it in. Not getting too hyped up about it though. Anyway, my date's sister seemed rather understanding about the situation.
But yeah, prom was good, my feet were killing me but I made the best of it. Then my friends and I had an after party after the girls were dropped off. We drove over to Astro's resturant, only to turn back because of a full parking lot. So we went to Denny's and encountered a full parking lot and a group of bald-headed Hispanics, which kinda looked like trouble. So we ended up going back to Astro's and, to our surprise, despite the full parking lot, it was rather empty. So we went in and raked up a $90 bill (seven of us). Then we drove around town and went to Santa Monica pier, the ocean was pitch-black so it was really freaky. As we drove along with the beach we noticed a plum of smoke on the sand behind some rocks.
We made a joke that it was some kind of Pagan ritual or something and my friend went to go check it out. xd As he was doing that my friend noticed that... The key to the van wouldn't turn. gonk So when our friend came back into the car we told him he ******** up the key and that the car wouldn't start. We had no idea where we were (didn't know it was Santa Monica pier until the end), it was pitch black and near some guy starting a fire at the beach at 3am. So we were freaked. Then... We found out our friend never parked the car so the car was still on and it needed to be parked before using the key again. So when it started up we drove the hell away.
We decided to head to Starbucks, which we thought opened at 5am, it was 4am when we decided to go, so we drove around town and such. Near 4:50am we drove to the Starbucks in Burbank and found out that they open at 5:30am, so we drove back near my place where there's also a Starbucks, and we found out that they also open at 5:30am, by this time it was 5:10am, so we drove up to the RiteAid a block away and my friends leeched off of their bathroom. By the time we left Starbucks was opened, so we went in, ordered our stuff, and drank our coffee. I came home around 6am and just knocked out until 3:30pm.
So all-in-all, it was pretty exciting and fun.

Zero Omega So prom was yesterday. My birthday weekend was alright. Aside from spending most of my "special" day driving, it turned out pretty nice due to getting lots of nice birthday wishes from just about everyone (irl and on here), not getting a parking ticket even though my meter had been expired for at least 5 minutes before I remembered and ran outside to put more money in, getting to see my parents, and my parents paying for dinner.
The orientation was alright. They told us pretty much all of the same things that we've been told before in all of the paperwork we had to read. I was extremely disappointed at the Japan session because all of the people there were asking questions that, had they read ALL of the paperwork like they were supposed to, would not have needed to be asked at all. I didn't learn anything new. The session on minorities going into a majority society was great for me, considering I'm going to Japan. After the whole thing, my parents took us to Denny's for a late lunch. They really seem to be getting comfortable with the idea that I may be living with Hiro in Japan, which is good because they're usually very strict about...just about everything.
After lunch, we drove home, had Woodstock Pizza and Jamba Juice for dinner, and watched a new episode of One Piece and a Ghibli movie Omoi de Poroporo (Only Yesterday or Just Yesterday in English). The movie was nothing less than moving. I could relate to it so much...I cried. If you Ghibli fans haven't seen it yet, I'd definitely reccomend it.
So now I have a full three weeks of hell ahead of me before school's over for the semester. crying I have loads of papers and assignments to take care of, so I probably won't be on Gaia as much as usual. I know I'll do a much better job on my work if I stay away from here so...if you need to contact me, I'll probably be on AIM. Love you guys. Thanks again for all the birthday happiness. heart

Aww, good luck Hilary!! Yay for this semester almost being over, but I don't think I'm as stressed as either you or Marni. But maybe I should consider going to anthro at least once a week? Maybe. At least the entire review before finals. I only have one more paper to write...and I think in APA format!! I'm excited. 4laugh

Yeah, I miss prom now. When you get older it's hard to find nice functions like that where you and your lady can dress up all fancy and get some nice music, etc. Although, I did take Alicia out for a VERY nice steak dinner the other night. We went to Spencer's. The best Steakhouse around the Bay Area. Oh man if that steak was an attractive woman, I'd TOTALLY have its babies. ... In any case, the BEST steak I've ever had. Awesome. In other news, I'm finishing up my classes, so hopefully things go well. I've got plans for the next couple weeks, then two more weekends until Fanime. AHHHH!!! lol. And I still need to get another 600 dollars together or so. At least, I'd LIKE to. We'll see what happens. >_<

Kinetic Dream LunaInverse Holy crap! I just saw some kids playing in traffic! Seriously, I'm pulling out of my street, and I see these pseudo goth teens sitting in the middle of one of the BUSIEST streets in my town. And this street connects to 2 major highways, has a ton of shops and restaurants, AND a freaking mall. Lots of traffic. And there they are, sitting on the guardrail in the middle. They're smoking and talking on their cell phones, not even trying to cross. They were just hanging out... gonk Until I read the last line, I thought they were actually PLAYING something, like cards or tag... Or maybe LARPing... ... ... ... That last one was uncalled for. xd sweatdrop

Zero Omega It's time to form VOL-PROM! Sounds like a good time aside from the stealing at prom. My car's crap, so I can't tell you HOW many times, the car's died on me in a turn lane and I've forgotten to put it back into park before turning the key. It's a realy pain in the a**. stressed And getting lost is fun. whee
