Spoiler free summery: Captain Jack is running the Cardiff branch of Torchwood, organization that deals with Alien Tech and Aliens themselves. He brings in Gwen Cooper from Cardiff PD and she adds a little perspective to the group. It's got a darker/more mature feel then Doctor Who does.

Torchwood's okay. I definately prefer Doctor Who, but it's good enough to tide me over 'til the Who Christmas special!
