"You don't always, Sir," Toby said. "Some of the prefer to stay hidden." Of course throwing little boys down the stairs wasn't exactly hidden, but it hadn't appeared. Maybe it used all of its power in physical force.
"Of course," he replied then. "We've done this before. We'll stay in touch." On the little slip of paper Toby had produced from his pocket was the address to the hotel and a pair of disposable cell phone numbers.

"Thank you," the man said, taking Toby's hand and shaking it. He left the house hurriedly, though.

They waited until the family was out of the driveway to start piling in their stuff. Their focus at the moment was the blood on the wall, but Dari shuffled around placing cameras and zip-tying them to sturdy pieces of furniture where need be. This might be a rough one. He was lucky that he was jelly, and his partners were respectively a werewolf and already dead.
Michael was wandering the halls, along and invisible.

The ghost struck, wrapping around Dari and pulling at his ears. It yanked, paused, and yanked again. He pulled upwards. It screamed in his ear, silent to the werewolf. The air around the alien was much cooler than the rest of the house.

Dari was used to the sensory pressure of an attack, but he hadn't been expecting it to go for his ears of all things. He startled slightly when it grabbed him and worried for a moment that it might rip his ears off if it had enough power. It didn't, though. It screamed. He grimaced hard at the loud sound and how suddenly it had come.
"Got one!" he called. Definitely a spirit of some type.
Michael teleported to the hall Dari was in.

The ghost shrieked and went to Toby instead. It wrapped around him and took him by the head. It shrieked again, and shoved at him.

Toby's head whipped back and he was flung forward. He landed against the wall, then slid to his knees and remained there should it decide it wanted to push him over again. Dari came down the hall as it happened.
Michael, meanwhile, appeared in the room and looked for the entity. It was angry. It didn't seem like it had a personality, really. Damn, and they had been doing so well with actual dead people!

The ghost shoved at Toby again. Hah! This guy was easier to mess with than the other guy! It shrieked again, into Toby's ear. Blood started to show on the floor below the werewolf.

Toby sat. Right. Knees were too high apparently. That shrieking could go away now too, thanks. He was having flashbacks to Michael's case and the incessant yelling. It had been terrifying then, and it was still terrifying now. He was an agent, though. He was trained to not react, and to think logically.
He did a quick check to make sure it wasn't him bleeding.
Michael appeared to him and Toby jumped slightly. "********," Michael said, "I can't see it. It isn't manifesting."

Good! Obedient fleshy wasn't he? The ghost lost interest in Toby and went back to Dari. It shoved at him then.

Dari stumbled dramatically.
Michael, frustrated, disappeared from the men's view and pulled himself into the spirit world. He began to try and overtake the room, something he knew that the spirit would disallow. At least it should get its attention.

The ghost was immediately furious. It appeared to Michael, several forms that flickered between each other. It wasn't strong enough to keep a form. It screamed. "GET OUT!" It shrieked.

"This is my house!" Michael said to the shape. He gritted his teeth. His eyes began to glow, and red. The rest of his body seemed almost black and white.
Now, of course, they were going to learn whether the ghost was a They or an It, and to what extent? A They could hold a conversation. An It could either spout some words vaguely related to the situation or else not react except with force. 'Get out' was pretty basic in They and It situations.

The ghost turned red; well, the cloud of shadowy matter did. "MY HOUSE!" It shrieked. A vase went flying somewhere in the house, but the shatter sounded near. "GET OUT! Leave this place!"
The ghost disappeared, but a loud instrumental version of braum's lullaby began to play. It didn't seem to be coming from any particular place.

A lullaby? Baby music?
Michael decided to try and treat it like a half-person, for just a little.
"We know you died here!" he said, "Why did you turn away from the light?!"
Toby and Dari went about trying to find the source of the magic. It all seemed rife with chaotic energy. Things just happened and happened again as if constructed by a delusional psychotic who wasn't entirely in control, whose thoughts and emotions were becoming sound and song without its input.
