"You don't suck...well, alright, you kind of do. But hey, we'll teach you to be almost as good as me. Which is easily ten times better then Natasha. When she doesn't set the very steel of her swords and mini-balls on fire, the cheating minx."
Storm smiled at Melanie. The drow turned back towards Natasha.
"Natasha, put that out before you set my ship on fire...again."

Melanie rolled her eyes at Storm and shrugged. "Alright. When do lessons begin?"

"I don't cheat all the time"
Natasha says while clenching her fist slightly to extinguish the fire.
"And I only set your ship on fire when I was very very drunk and forgot how to put flames out."

"Well you obviously must have the upper hand alot of the time if she's telling you not to use it." Melanie muttered hesitantly, wondering if she would anger her. Oh well.

Storm couldn't help but laugh.
"Obviously you've never tried to fight with red hot steel."
She finished off her orange and brushed her hands clean of the sticky juices; Storm drew her dirk and twirled the blade slowly at first.
"Your lessons start now."
She lept at Melanie, the dirk screaming towards her throat.

Melanie immediately lept up to her feet, then fell down again from not having a good footing. She tried to quickly get her boot off and retrieve her sword but it worked against her when she felt a stream of blood run down her leg. She cursed herself for not investing in a sheath and stood up, wide eyed at the oncoming sword. Melanie gulped and held out her sword, not certain if that would help her because for one thing she couldn't even see Storm's blade.

Natasha cringed as she saw the faint trickle of blood on Melanie's leg. Not because she had a problem with blood, but because of how stupid the girl was for keeping a sword in her boot. She sat down on the same chair as she did when she first arrived, watching the action as it unfolded out in front of her and wishing she had a blood orange like the one Storm had just minutes ago.
The Captain shakes away her hunger and she reaches down to her boot once more and pulls out the same dagger as before to twirl between her fingers, barely concentrating on the spinning blade as she continues to watch the fight.

Melanie cringed and backed away from the oncoming spinning blade, nearly falling back as she tripped over a raised piece of wood.

Storm slapped away Melanie's pathetic excuse of a defense and stopped her dirk as suddenly as it had come, pressing the tip into Melanie's soft throat. She pulled her dirk back and tucked it away before reaching down and helping Mel to her feet.
"Did you see what I did there?"

Melanie swallowed and stared with scared eyes at Storm as she felt the tip of her sword at her throat. Finally she let out the breath she'd been holding-which she hadn't realized she had-grabbed her hand and stood up. She looked at Storm. "Was I supposed to be able to see what you were doing?"

Storm nodded.
"Yes, you should have."
She smiled gently.
"First thing is first: invest in a sheath."

Melanie nodded shamefully-she felt so stupid for not having a sheath-and then lifted up her breeches and winced at the long gash. She muttered a few profanities and sat back down.

Storm laughed at Melanie's choice of vulgarity. She dropped down beside Mel and gently probed at the gash.
"That's not bad at all, girlie. It's long but shallow; it just needs to be wrapped up, is all. Stil!"
The quiet, scowling man approached at Storm's call.
"Stil, Mel needs a bandage. Go see to it."
Stil frowned but did as Storm ordered. Within a few minutes, he was back, a long, blood stained piece of clothe in hand.
"Thank you."
With quick, familiar movements, she wrapped up Melanie's hurt nice and tight.
"See, it's not to bad. Now stand up."

Melanie winced slightly as the rough fabric of her breeches was pressed against ther wound as Strom wound the piece of cloth around her leg. "Thanks" She muttered both to Storm and Stil. Then she rolled her eyes and stood up."Now what?" She said.

Storm shrugged.
"We're not going any further until we find you a sheath. And a weapon's belt. You cannot be pulling you boot off every time a knife decided he wants to end you. Time is of the essence, in all things. A little later, we can go back into town, and get you what you need. And maybe a new pair of breeches, too."
She eyed the torn and stained things that were so dejected looking, she had a hard time of thinking of them as anything other then scrap.
"An' loose the attitude or I'll take your tongue. If I see you roll your eyes again at me, I'll take one of them, too. I am doing you a fair, Mel; respect that. Its a ******** rare occurrence, around her. Just ask the Flame Girl over there."
Storm gestured at Natasha who didn't appear to be paying any sort of attention to them.
