"Alright, I've got this. Bugsy! I Challenge you to a battle!" Crenu yelled as he knocked on the door. He didn't knock hard so as not to offend, he didn't want to get turned down for rudeness after all, but hard enough to be heard. "Do you accept?" Beads of sweat started to trickle down his back as his nerve started to go. After all, he heard that this trainer was just a kid. A kid being a gym leader? He would have to be really good for that to happen and so Crenu was a bit intimidated.

Even though she saw no real threat from the Embers, mainly because Water Sport had served its purpose and drastically weakened any Fire-type attacks Mag and Sunfire would try to throw out. The flames fizzled out on the surface of the water, leaving a small spiral of smoke in their wake. "Try another Horn Attack," Misty called, watching her Pokemon leap gracefully out of the water, its sharp horn aimed directly for the Flareon.

Not too much later, Keegan had bid his parents farewell, but not before taking the abandoned piece of Charcoal from the table and placing it around his own neck as a memento, and was now boarding the ruby red helicopter behind Sheena and a rather smug-looking Sheridan. Keegan couldn't help but imagine the older sister getting too close to the chopper's blades, as she too boarded, a rather sadistic smirk etched across the young man's face as he envisioned the lovely, bloody scene in his mind's eye. As the vehicle came to life, humming loudly as the blades cut through the air, he and Sheena exchanged PokeNav numbers. Keegan also let her know that if she got into trouble, all she had to do was call him. He may not have liked her very much, at least initially, but she was the only one he really trusted to keep an eye on Helios.

He bit his bottom lip as they soared through the skies, the helicopter being rather state-of-the art and downright fast. Keegan was almost sorry when the vehicle touched down on the outskirts of Fuchsia City; in fact, the very gate Mike and Kasiya had entered the southern City with only yesterday.

"Take care of yourself, Sheena," Keegan said, giving his new friend an awkward sort of hug, mainly because Sheena was clinging to him rather tightly yet again. The boy sighed, and returned the gesture, and gave her a light kiss on the forehead. "Remember what I said," he nodded when she finally let him go.

"Time to go," Sheridan called loftily from her front seat in the crimson vehicle. "You promised, Sheena," she said, just in case the younger sister had tried to flee once more.

"I know," Sheena said ruefully, giving a small wave as she climbed back onto the helicopter. "Bye, Keegan. Thanks for hanging out with me. It means a lot."

"No problem. It was fun," he finally admitted, waving. Sheridan turned up her nose at him, and he grinned at her. "And you," he went on, jabbing a finger in her direction. "If you so much as harm a hair on that Pokemon's body, I will hunt you down, and trust me. The results will not be pretty."

"Empty threats from an empty little boy," Sheridan sneered. "Let's go." The driver started the engines, and once more the chopper came to life and it rose up off the ground. He watched the red flying machine until it was gone from view, once again that feeling of hollowness overcoming him to the point where he nearly threw up. After a moment or two, he finally passed through the Fuchsia City gates, no longer feeling like a whole person.

A half an hour later Violet dropped off some new clothing on the counter in the bathroom. Dante who had still been trying to get all the soot stuff out of his hair just glared across the room. It would be an adventure getting there, especially since his muscles wouldn't stop twitching. Growling slightly he finished up washing the rest of the stuff out of his now white hair. 'I look like an old man now.' He thought irritably. Draining his tub he managed to get out of the tub and dry himself off. After a while he made his way over to the clothes he managed to get dressed in them. There was a white button down shirt. Though that couldn't really be seen, as there was a large black sweatshirt type jacket with a white furry collar that went over it. He just had a pair of nice fitting black jeans and a pair of boots on as well. The necklace as always went back around his neck. It had been hard to change clothing with only one hand. His left hand had been clenched tight around what felt like a marble. What he was doing holding a marble Dante had no idea.

Concentrating he did his best to unfold his fingers. After a moment his muscles seemed to relax and they slowly unfolded. Revealing a glass like orb in his hand. It was clear except for what appeared to be a spark that was trapped inside of it. Setting it down, his hands were still shaking, so that he could get a good look at it he stared at it. It was a curious item and for some reason he figured that it was special. Shrugging he picked it up again and shakily tied it to his necklace with the feather on it.

That done he used the counter and walls to make his way to the door and stumble out into the hall.

Keegan entered Fuchsia City without incident, walking seemingly in a random direction. He wasn't even entirely sure why he was here; maybe it was because he wanted a friendly face, or maybe it was just because it was the only thing that popped into mind. Deep down he knew the real reason he was here, even though he wouldn't actually admit it to himself. "I should have asked for a million dollars," he sighed, marveling at his 20/20 hindsight.

It didn't take him long to find his way into town, and his gloomy, downtrodden mood didn't brighten the slightest even the prospect of traipsing around the Safari Zone or looking at the strange and unusual Pokemon in the nearby zoo. He turned down a street, not really looking where he was going, and spotted the Pokemon Center. He sighed, thinking it was as good a place as any to just sit and think, and made his way over to it.

An interesting sight caught his attention through the window, and he stopped, peering in to get a better look. There was a girl standing on the edge of a table, her face mashed up against the television screen. As far as he could tell, she was talking to it, obviously not happy with what she saw. Her attention suddenly diverted, and she sheepishly climbed down. Keegan did a double take at what was on the television - it was the interview with Gabby he'd done yesterday. Feeling his face flush, he tore his gaze from it, wondering why some random girl was up close and personal with the TV and yelling at it. His first thought was that maybe she just had a personal vendetta against redheads, but then got a good look at her, and for a moment his heart stopped beating. Panic flared up, and he knew why. She must have thought that Sheena was with him, which would explain her actions. His eyes darted from side to side rather suspiciously as she came towards the sliding doors, and he did the only logical thing he could think of at the time, which was to dive for cover.

Unfortunately, the street was somewhat barren, so Keegan's 'cover' turned out to be a pitiful sign perched outside a nearby building. Hoping that he wasn't being too obvious, he peeked out of his hiding place as Kasiya walked down the street, grumbling to herself. "Now where is she going?" he asked himself, standing up. He now walked rather close to a building, ready to duck into the shadows if she turned around suddenly.

A tornado couldn't have woken up Mary-Anne anytime before late morning. When she finally did arise, however, she felt as fresh as new laundry with spring-scented detergent.

It took a moment for yesterday's events to hit her again; my, what a loaded twenty-four hours it had been! The brunette smiled softly at her first recollection, and she patted the faithful puppy's head fondly. Daemyn had slept very little, being more comfortable in the night than the day, but had stayed by her side all night. He wasn't the only one still there -- the Phanpy was as well.

She recalled the incident with Team Rocket then. And Kilik. Oh, hadn't Nurse Joy mentioned something about his seeing her? M.A. bit her lip then, frowning -- hopefully, she hadn't kept him waiting with her sleeping in and what not. Forgetting about the Phanpy for the time being, only absently giving it a pat on the head (Daemyn didn't like that, being jealous by nature) before hustling off to get dressed.

Once she was, however, she was perplexed to see no Kilk inside the PokeCenter -- or outside, either. Nurse Joy, standing idly at the counter with a magazine, noticed, and anwered the question in her eyes. "Miss, that gentleman left earlier this morning; I don't know to where, but he and his two friends flew off."

M.A. crossed her arms, feeling a bit flustered now. What the heck? No optimism on her part could tell her that he hadn't just entirely forgotten her. Blown her off. Well, that's fine. Just fine.

The little tantrum in her head cooled a minute later. She didn't even know him that well. . . What gave her a right to be angry with him if he didn't want to wait around for her? He had friends, a life, somewhere to go. . . Sighing, she sat down on the same couch Kilik had slept. The confusion that she had felt last night returned. Was he even the Kilik she thought he was, to begin with? Why was he connected with that organization, Team Rocket? Was he. . . well, for the lack of a more sophisticated word. . . bad?

She looked around listlessly, seeing no Ky or Crenu. In fact, Crenu had just disappeared after his part in the battle -- where'd he go? After inquiring about him and having the Nurse simply state that no Crenu had rested there over the night, M.A. simply sat down again. She was a simplistic girl, and understanding other people's thoughts without thorough explanations was beyond her. Emotions she could tell, for she was good with relating, but not intentions. Neither Kilik nor Crenu had given her a head's up. She felt small and insignificant, like a spectator whose understanding and say meant little.

But then she was thinking too much, maybe, she realized. And so, for the next while, she stayed on the couch blankly, not a stray, meaningful thought passing through her mind.

Even though the gym was less than a block from the Pokemon Center, almost right away Kasiya's sixth sense was telling her something was amiss. She slowed her pace a little, whirling around on one foot quite suddenly, although there wasn't anybody there when she turned. She furrowed her brow in annoyance, and scratched her chin. She knew someone was there, she just didn't know who, or why, for that matter. Deciding to try a trick of her own, she walked backwards for a while, then jumped into the doorway of a building, and decided to wait. When her stalker, if she could even go so far as to call them that, came by unexpectedly, they'd be in for a surprise. The hunter becomes the hunted, the girl thought slyly, listening closely for the sounds of approaching footsteps.

Keegan's own sixth sense was in overdrive as well, and he ducked into a doorway as well just as Kasiya whirled around to have a look. She's good, he thought, waiting a few moments before he stole a quick glance down the sidewalk again. To his surprise, she was gone. He stopped, looking around, but not catching sight of his favourite blonde-haired trainer anywhere. He noticed the gym up ahead, and suddenly wondered if perhaps she'd run off ahead and already gone inside. Perhaps that was just the case; maybe she'd gotten spooked and decided to play it safe. He chuckled lightly to himself, and decided to follow, taking long, even strides to try and play catch up.

Once in the hallway Dante looked around not quite sure what was going on. His chest hurt from where he had been shocked and he was still twitching slightly. Frowning he tried his best to get his muscles to get him back to his room. Unfortunatly his legs decided to be jerks and gave out on him. He would have hit the floor if it wasn't for something big and silver hadn't caught him. "Huh?" He said confused. Looking up his eyes widened when he saw a beautiful looking Rapidash standing in front of him. He stared for a moment in amazement before it hit him. "Apollo?" He asked staring up at the horse in front of him. The horse looked down at him before nuzzling him some to let him know he was right. "Apollo!" He cried happily before throwing his arms around his powerful neck. "You look wonderful."

"What do you think you are doing out of your room?" Came an exasperated voice.

Turning to look at who was talking to him he saw Nurse Joy storming towards him looking angry. "Umm, I was trying to get back to my room, honestly." He was a bit embarrised for some reason.

"You better have. You are in no state to be walking around. You are staying here under my supervision for the rest of the day! So get back into your room." She said as she hoisted the boy up onto Apollo's back. When he was up the Nurse slapped Apollo's flank to tell him to move. Jumping a bit the horse did so trotting into 'Dante's' room and setting him down on the bed.

And then she heard it; footfalls on the pavement. Kasiya grinned, and readied herself. Theoretically, what she was about to do could probably be deemed as one of the worst ways to fend off a stalker, for who could know if they were armed or not? All Kasiya knew was that this person was about to get a surprise.

So the moment she saw a figure walk past in a long, dark coat, she pounced, throwing all her weight (or what could pass for all her weight) forward and crashing into her stalker. Her sudden momentum paired with a flying sneak attack tackle sent them crashing to the ground in a heap, and it wasn't until Kasiya had more or less pinned him that she spotted the familiar mop of red hair, and green eyes.

"...Keegan?"

Keegan let out a muffled sort of cry as he was suddenly thrown to the ground rather forcefully. Once he was certain he wasn't about to get beaten to death, and he heard his name, he opened his eyes, and found himself looking up at Kasiya.

"Heh, yeah, that's me," he nodded, heaving a huge sigh of relief. As scary as Kasiya could be at times, he was at little risk of her pummeling him into submission with her bare fists. "And before you ask, and I know you're going to ask it, I wasn't really stalking you so much as just... following you." He shrugged sheepishly, not really knowing what else to say. "By the way, you looked really intimidating back there, standing on that table and yelling at the TV. Really terrifying," he added somewhat playfully.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:17 pm

"Stalking, following, is there really a difference?" Kasiya asked, tilting her head. "But then again, in my book, stalking is a lot creepier than just following." She stopped, realizing then that if he were here, then he'd known where to find her, which meant he'd received her last message.

"I wasn't yelling at the TV," Kasiya said defensively, crossing her arms. "I was yelling at you. Or, actually, I was yelling at that girl who was clamped onto your arm. So what was that all about anyways? You've got a new girlfriend now or something?" She wasn't even sure if she was doing a good enough job to hide her jealousy. "And, um, no. I'm not jealous, before you ask," she said suddenly.

Kysono

PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:45 pm

Ky watched as M.A. went off to bed and found himself smiling. He wouldn't have known how to say it, but M.A.'s personality just felt so... warming. Seeing her place the blanket on Kilik made him feel a little jealous. "Who is that guy? I wouldn't have guessed that they'd be friends," he said to himself. That wasn't the strongest feeling he had though. If anything, her kindness reminded him of his mom and all of the times he had been tucked in at night. Before he forgot, he went over to Nurse Joy and handed her Little Guy and Sting. She simply nodded and headed towards the back, leaving Ky at the counter, alone.

The Pokemon Center felt really empty then, and suddenly Ky was overcome by loneliness and homesickness. It was almost painful to think that no one was there and he felt a dire need to talk to someone. When he went to search for Crenu though, he found him nowhere nearby. All he found were other trainers who had fallen asleep, taking up various sofas and beds, leaving very little space for him to even consider sleeping, unless he wanted to sleep next to some stranger. Ky began to shiver, both in fear and from the cold. He never felt this way before, and he wanted it to stop. When Nurse Joy returned, she saw Ky and noticed his heartache. "What's the matter, Ky? You look sad," she asked.

Her kind voice was enough to break the horrible silence, but Ky couldn't smile. "I... I... I want to see my family," he stuttered. His emotions were choking him a little and a small tear ran down one of his cheeks. "I know I'm not that far away... but... I miss them. I just want to see them." His memories brought him thoughts of his mom and Al, as well as Trea and his dad, and it felt so bad to not have them there. Ky started to sob, but he kept it quiet. He didn't like crying in public, but there were just some times where he couldn't keep it in.

Nurse Joy came around the counter as he spoke and once she was close enough, she brought Ky into a hug, rubbing his back as a mother would. "There there now, poor thing. Being a trainer's tough, huh?" she said. "You know, even though your family's not here, you have friends don't you? Those trainers you battled with, against those horrible Rockets, weren't they your friends?" she asked, pointing towards M.A. off in the corner. Ky looked over, and seeing her, nodded. "Those kinds of friends will be the ones you'll know forever, and if you ever feel lonely make sure to get in touch with them. Sometimes, friends are just like family." She then smiled and held up Little Guy's Pokeball. "And ya know, Little Guy's starting to really grow. I'd have to say that it won't be too long until he learns the move Teleport. With that, you'll be able to go to Violet City as often as you'd like, and be able to return in a flash. Now, doesn't that sound much better?" she finished, patting his head.

Ky could only look up and smile. He felt kind of embarassed for having cried, but listening to Joy talk was enough to get rid of the feelings he had before. Now, he just felt sleepy and was wavering a bit on his feet. He took the Pokeballs from Nurse Joy and attached them to his belt. "Nurse Joy, do you have an extra blanket? I think I'm going to sleep outside tonight," Ky asked.

"Of course. There's some over here," she said. She walked a short distance to the counter, reaching under to grab a bluish-grey blanket, handing it to Ky.

"Thanks, Joy. For this and for talking with me," he said before walking out of the PokeCenter. Ky wasn't really sure why he wanted to go outside. It seemed something out of impulse, but he really did like the fresh air. It wasn't very cold out, and the wind wasn't blowing. After finding a nice patch of grass to lay down on, he set up his sleeping bag and pillow, tucking the blanket inside for extra warmth. As Ky looked up into the stars, he could hear various bugs chirping in the distance. This reminded him of Bugsy, and thinking of him before going to sleep caused his dreams to fill with thoughts of defeating him and getting his first badge.

Z paced across the pokecenter floor and twiddled his fingers nervously. He was feeling horribly guilty about not taking Shino to the pokemon center earlier. 'I should've done something earlier! I just sat there and wallowed in my self pitty!' Z internally yelled. Suddenly he saw a flash of black and he smirked maliciously. 'Not that I really care what happens to the stupid thing. I mean it is it's fault I lost the battle.' He thought much more calmly. He then saw a flash of red and smacked himself. 'NO!! We do not think like that! Bad Z! Bad!' It was at that moment that he noticed three things. One was that Nurse Joy was standing in front of him with a pokeball in her hand. Another was that she and everyone in the room was staring at him with looks that varied from confused to scared to amused. The last thing he realized was that he had been talking out loud. "Uh . . . Bye!" He said quickly grabbing the pokeball from Nurse Joy and running out of the pokecenter, his face bright red with embarresment.

Z looked at his pokenav and saw that it was getting pretty late. He clipped Shino's ball onto his belt, deciding to give the little guy a rest, and began to walk towards the restraunt. He hoped that the others had better luck then he did at finding that Drowzee.

Meanwhile

Lyn glanced at the clock on the wall of the over the top restraunt. The exxageratedly japanese restraunt had kattanas, kimono's and scrolls everywhere and the walls were wood with rice paper doors. Lyn sighed and wished that Sumemr and Z would get back soon so she could finally go to sleep. It was at that moment that two exhausted pokemon walked through the door and collapsed on the floor. The small monkey pokemon and the cat were snoozing peacefully as though they had been working for days instead of just hours. One sometimes forgets that young pokemon have limits. Lyn once again sighed and picked them up and lay them on a mat on the tatami floor.
