Brown and Blue give out pretty cruddy items... pink boxes can give out really rare items.
You find random boxes flying around the screen on odd occations. I found one playing gaia towns. It was just flying around the houses like a bug and I caught it! Keep looking and you'll eventually find one!

I doubt it. I think I tried watching the movie a couple times before I knew about the book and I didn't like it, but I love the book. I didn't even realize they made a movie out of it until I got almost halfway through.
