Kota was equally surprised at the sudden appearance of a small dark face between the grass. His eyes were wide as he watched the small lioness tumble backwards. Surely she hadn't meant to do that, right? After a short moment, he dropped the meat from his mouth and got up carefully from his rock, pausing only for a second as he heard the voice through the wind. He looked around, as if expecting to see something, before padding off curiously in the direction that the lioness had disappeared of to.

((I'm not sure if I should wait for Paper Heart))

((Um... I dunno either... ._.;; I guess she could always join back in later? If she comes back?))

((Works for me))

She came to a rather abrupt stop as the jet black lioness hit a well places tree. She shook her head and looked up, barely hearing the odd voice. Layla was now rather disappointed and her stance showed quite a bit of fear. She had righted herself and was stading with her ears perked and her paws anchored tightly to the ground by her claws. She didn't dare move as she saw a strange black shadow lurking behind the trees, it was larger than Montsho, and that was some feat, and had something on it's back.

((Ack, sorry! Got distracted coloring... sweatdrop ))

Kota peered through the grass to see the lioness standing in front of a tree. He stood for a moment, just staring, curious as to what she was doing, before calling out to her. "Um, hello? Are you ok?" He didn't move any closer. She seemed frightened and he didn't want to scare her away any more.

She peered up, a little calmer, his voice relaxing her a bit until an odd black figure emerged from the trees, black wings lay folded on her back and she faced the white lion with a serious and surreal expression.

"Oh yes, she's quite fine...though in need of much work..." she took a slow look around as if the area was slightly familiar, "oh, I haven't been here in sometime...then, I prefer where I'm more familiar anyway."

He was peering politely at her, waiting for her answer, when the large black lioness appeared. He looked up at her, taken completely by surprise, especially at the fact that she was addressing him. There was something about her... something odd... different... He kept silent, not knowing what to say.

The large lioness shifted her large wings, and turned around to look at the little cub, bringing her head down to be at eye level with the small one.

"Caaaalm young one...has that leopard taught you well? She is talented but still...a leopard, I was wary of her..."

Layla nodded slowly, peering around and then back to the large lioness..

"Who are you?"

"Oh...no one yoiu need concern yourself with too much right now..."

Now Kota was thoroughly confused. He stared from the large lioness to the small cub with a slight frown on his face. What is going on here? There's definitely something odd about that lioness... the one with the wings... The thought suddenly dawned upon him. Wings? The only lions that could ever possibly have wings were... But she couldn't be... could she...?

The lioness turned around quickly, fully satisfied with the little cub, she'd hopefully grow far more well spoken than she was now. As she turned toward the white lion again she smiled a certain twinkle in his eye and a soft voice could be heard coming to him as if no one else could hear her.

Oh..please do not be startled...you seem shaken...

The voice came across very feircce though it was truely meant to be calming...but then most things she said seemed to have a bit of an edge on them.

Kota stared at the large lioness, his blue eyes focusing intently on her face. He could feel her voice as if it were inside his own head. He shuddered. Shaken? Who wouldn't be shakened? If she really was who, or rather, what, he thought she was... Any more timid cub would've ran away by now.

Layla felt a calmth toward the lioness and approached her from behind cautiously, crawling underneath her and staring up at her large muzzle. The goddess laughed lightly and looked down, once more adjusting her wings.

"How is this area doing...the prey still good and plenty...I visit here too often," her voice was quite low and deep, her eyes darkened as she took in her surroundings.

Ah, yes...bravery...you could teach this little one well...she shows little of that yet.

He peered at the young cub, now positioned between the lioness's front paws. She didn't seem frightened anymore... Gazing up at her again, he suppressed the shudder that threatened to crawl over his skin as she addressed him again. ... Was he hearing her correctly...? ... Him? Teach a young cub...? Surely she couldn't have really meant that. He knew nothing of teaching.

((Sorry about the late responce))

The large lioness slinked forward, her wings tucked tight to her body and small glimmer of a grin on her features. She looked at him, surveying him and the way he carried himself, everything.

"Well, you're young aswell, perhaps teach is not the word I intended to use...perhpas she shall just learn from you, this place seems primarily uninhabited from what I've seen and there may be few oppurtunities for her to interact...she will be important in the future...she will be necessary and must be able to speak more freely...even to those she is not comfortable around."

((I shall be even later in responding! @-@;; But we shall go on. whee ))

Kota watched as she moved closer. She seemed to be studying him. And that thought alone was enough to make him a slight bit self conscience. But he kept that feeling inside.

For the first time, she addressed him out loud. He listened intently as she spoke, his blue eyes flicking across her face, as if trying to see past her words to see what she really meant. If he had been perhaps a bit older, or knew more of the ways of others, he might have wondered if most lions would stare at someone like her, and be able to look her straight in the eyes. But indeed he was still young. His gaze shifted to the small cub for a moment as she mentioned her importance in the future. But it returned to the face of the lioness as she stopped speaking. Silence drifted between them as he nodded, not knowing how else he could respond.
