Edited - "Mave"? WHAT is that? It's "Have"!

A.R.G.U.S Mykal What type of spider did that? Trapdoor? That would be a funnel web spider. She is sitting down in the bottom of the funnel waiting to shoot out and grab the hapless insect that lands and gets stuck. I have some pics on my camera od a BIG spider I saw in my garden.. I am not sure what it is.. but it is about 1.5" long, black body with some yellow on top. Need to upload em..

onlydraven It almost looks like webs on snow. heart I thought that, too. biggrin The spiderwebs here were both in white planters.
Thankfully, I never saw the spider that lived in the web. Arachnids kinda skeeve me out. *shudder*
It took a lot of courage to get close enough to get these shots. But I did it! 3nodding

It took a lot of courage to get close enough to get these shots. But I did it! 3nodding We have a resident house spider hanging out by our thermometer. It's right next to the window, and the light attracts bugs to it at night. Prime spot, a smart spider. xd But it's not out during the daytime, so I can't get a good picture of it. D: My flash is far too bright at night for something that close up anyway.
I'd say that it's roughly the size of an egg. That's a big spider. ;3

Try setting up a light outside if you can, and set your camera down on something or prop it against the wall of the house or *gasp* use a tripod, if you have one. xd (Most people, sadly, do not have one. I have one for my old manual, but not my digital.) Best of luck getting a photo of that spider!
... yeah.. I'm glad I never saw the spider who made that web. *shudder* I don't WANT to know how big it is.

Yeah. I donnae have a tripod for mine either.

Yeah. I donnae have a tripod for mine either. I wanted to take some really "natural" portraits of my boyfriend, but I couldn't get him to relax or smile. And snapping a picture quickly to capture the moment doesn't work with a bulky old manual. So my trick was... I just kept aiming the camera at him, getting it focused, messing with my settings.. and then I would say something like, "What if I say 'poop'?" And I got him to laugh and then I snapped the photo. smile
These two photos were the result: http://mistresslunatic.homestead.com/files/phil_smile.jpg http://mistresslunatic.homestead.com/files/phil_3.jpg
Candids are hard. I'm all about posing and stoicism and blah blah blah. If I could, I would be a fashion photographer or do portraits of celebrities. smile
