((Horses actually have very soft manes. The gritty not soft ones are when they're not washed properly. =o ))

"Hmm?" Sayael looked up at Dax, each hand occupied with different hairs. He looked completely oblivious to any discomfort he might be causing. "But it's soft," he said, frowning slightly and tugging Isfahel a little closer to himself. The horse was used to Sayael's bouts of childishness so he didn't snap, but he would if he didn't get a carrot, which he reminded Sayael by nudging him yet again. "Ellian, just a sec, okay?" he said, letting go of the other and turning back to rummage around in his pack. He pulled out a quite large carrot and fed it to Isfahel, who ate it instantly. He returned, this time looping both arms around Isfahel's neck, as was his habbit. "You were saying?" he asked, for all the world looking politely inquisitive.

Narrowed eyes shot back to Sayael's childly innocent features before ducking under Jacqueline's head to walk on her other side. "Nothing," he replied sharply, loud enough to pass over his new horse barrier. Dax knew that some people displayed signs of affection and such easier than others -many times without actually meaning anything by them- while some people were much more timid... Sayael just had to be the first type. "I'm just going to.. walk over here for awhile, ok? I felt a little cramped in the middle. Besides, I can see a lot better from here."

He frowned, but made no comment. "Alright, then. I guess it'll make it easier for you to spot the pub..." He burried his face in Isfahel's longer silky hairs, only raising his head slightly so he could peer out to see where he was going. He felt suddenly... deflated. Dax was being no fun and the goatee was bothering him again...

Well, at least Sayael wasn't pushing the matter. Now he could breath a bit easier without the fear of another oncoming kiss or playful gesture. Once they walked on for a few more minutes, out of the main market area, it become considerably less crowded and easier to move.
~Walking...~
"There it is!" Dax said pointing to a small pub not far from where they stood. Beyond it, trees rose up indicating they were very near the forest. He continued toward it and stopped at a small post to tie Jacqueline's reigns. "You're coming in with me, aren't you?"

Sayael nodded. He gave Isfahel a hug, tied him up and went and got his sweets out of the bag. He handed one of the wrapped goods to Dax, grinning. "Mmm... honey for you thoughts?" He wasn't completely oblivios and had, in fact, noticed the other was acting strange. "What wrong?"

Dax took the offered food gratefully before hearing the latter question. "Huh?" he asked, looking up with an almost surprised blink and raised brows. "Oh, uh.. What do you mean? I'm perfectly fine." He forced a light grin in attempts to put the other at ease.

"Liar," he muttured, turning away from the other to unwrap his sweet. He wasn't overly concerned with Dax when he felt grumpy and cold - he kept swingling from being happy and childish to moody and sullen. Somehow he doubted honey would stabalize him - it would probably do the opposite - but he didn't care. He bit off a corner of the pasty and was instantly sent into an oblivion of sweet, tooth-decaying goodness.

Dax growled quietly with the comment and gave Sayael's shoulder a push. "Stop acting like that!" he demanded as he turned to go into the pub, just expecting the other to follow. "Trying to make me feel all bad.." He knew he was one to go into mood-swings himself, but with the Darkness Prince.. this was almost ridiculous! He never knew what to expect with the boy. An innocent child one second, angry another, then a mature, charming prince. If he didn't know better, he would think he had split personalities. Split several ways.

He frowned and caught up with the other, pastry posed halfway to his mouth. "You don't like honey...?" he asked, looking as it was something completely inconcevable. "Mmm, well, whatever it is, I'm sorry, 'kay? Is that better?" he asked, licking honey from his index finger.

The disguised blonde rolled his eyes and sighed. "You can't apologize for something if you don't even know what's wrong," he rationalized. "Look.. I'm fine, alright? I'm a healthy, tip-top lady who definitely likes her honey." He reached over to pinch Sayael's cheek. "Both of them-" he added speaking of both the pastry and the other boy. "Now stop worrying and let's go."

Upon opening the door to the pub -what seemed like a quiet place on the outside- erupted with noise on the inside. Drunkards laughing, dice being thrown, cards shuffling, glasses clinking. So many sounds all cluttered into the one space, yet no one seemed to mind.

He rubbed his cheek where it had been pinched with the palm of his hand, the eye nearest closed in case he accidentally poked it. He was about to speak, but the door opened and he decided he wouldn't even be able to hear himself, so he closed his mouth and followed after Dax.

Very few eyes bothered to turn their way, many hadn't even noticed their entrance, before they went back to their business. It was excessively crowded for being just the one room. Dax stood on his tip-toes, trying to look over the heads of shouting and laughing men. Reaching back, he took ahold of Sayael's hand and began to lead him through the people. "Oh, where is he?" he mumbled to himself, beginning to feel a little down thinking the man wouldn't be there today.

That is, until he saw him in the corner, drinking by himself. A smile lit his features and quickened his steps until standing just beside him. "Zavier!" he said happily.

"Look, lady.. Didn't I say befo-" the man started until his onyx black eyes travelled up to see 'her'. A look of observation then utter confusion crossed his face. "Da-!?" He was cut off when the disguised prince jumped forward to cover his mouth with his hand.

"Yeah," he said in a low voice before laughing. He knew Zavier was never one to be fooled. "The name's Ellian, alright?"

He followed after Dax, having no choice as he was being practically dragged along. Fortunately, the other had his empty hand gripped and Sayael was able to keep his precious honeyed treat safe. They stopped and he looked over at the older man with interest, unable to stop himself from grinning. "It's a very nice name, isn't it?" he asked somewhat cheekily.

"Oh, yeah. This.. is Lucian," Dax introduced pointing back at the other boy.

"So it is," Zavier said, eyeing 'Lucian' suspiciously. "Mind explaining to me what exactly you're doing.. like that." He ran a hand through his short brown lockes of hair.

"Well.. I'm going to be leaving for awhile," he said.

".. What are you up to now?"

Dax nibbled lightly on his lower lip, but still believed he could trust Zavier. He leaned in and whispered his and Sayael's plan to get out and across the wall. When the older knight's eyes widened, he clasped his hands in front of him. "Please don't say anything to anyone, ok? Please."

Sayael seemed completely unconcerned. He knew Dax would tell the other, but if the other turned out to be a blabber, then he could erase his memory. If that didn't work, Dax would be the one to suffer - not Sayael. He was good enough at erasing his own traces and already had back up and escape plans for himself - and Dax, if he didn't get caught. He smiled back at Zavier, not at all phased by the man's suspicion. He took another bite of his pasty and waited patiently for whatever was going to happen to get over with.
