Matewa came to Chittentown for the swag. Now way was she turning down free food and a chance to oogle some robo-limbs at the medical check-up area. She'd brought her grabber claw toy along so of course went around the event grabbing things with it. Then she tried to eat her food with it but mostly made a mess. The queen showing up was incredibly cool. Free food AND an adventurous call to arms? Matewa wasn't really sure what was happening. But it sure was exciting.

After that, Mysteryman was intimidating but also cool. Matewa didn't know what eradicate meant, but it probably meant 'badass victory.' The concrete details were very much lost on her baby brain. Admittedly she blanked out for some of the speech when it went on for a bit. She only had so much of an attention span.

When people start moving she paid attention again, marching with the crowd and getting shushed by her dogfather a lot on the way because she kept complaining loudly that her feet hurt and she was hungry and that walking is BORING. She thought there was gonna be a fight. Where was her instant gratification? Are they THERE yet?

The troup eventually arrived at the rebel base. Matewa had started to lag behind in the trek over, so now there were a bunch of taller trolls in front of her, blocking her view. She couldn't tell what has going on but there had only been one gunshot (And how loud! She didn't remember it being so loud on TV) and some talking. This didn't seem like a real fight.

"What's going on?" She whined to her lusus, "Dogfather? When do we get to fight?" He just shushed her again.

Matewa wanted to be more excited (adventure! she told herself) but she was cranky, confused, and she didn't know why she was starting to feel so anxious. She heard 'Run' and then she heard the laughter, which gave her a shiver shock right up her spine to the tips of her horns. She was relieved more than anything, the adrenaline spike must have been the battle-excitement she was expecting.

Then the chaos erupted.

There was a moment where she just stood there, but she started to feel the crowd pushing in a direction and that snapped her into action. Mostly she ran, following the mass of the crowd as best she could and clutching her grabby toy tightly in a small white-knuckled fist. There was a vague idea in her mind about whacking some enemy trolls with it, but mostly it sat forgotten in her hand as she ducked under swinging weapons and tripping limbs. After a while of shoving and getting dizzily turned around, she had a less vague idea of beating out the running feet to wherever they were going, so that's what she focused on. What kind of adventurer was she if she didn't blaze the battle trail?

It took her some time in the confusion, but it turned out that the trail she was blazing lead to a chamber full of babies, not battle. She turned around to run the way she came but hesitated. She felt a flash of irritation at herself for being a baby and not wanting to dive right back into the battle midst.

She glanced at Dogfather (Who she hadn't given a thought to while in the thick of things; she'd assumed with the unconscious selfishness of a child that he was just going to be there.) to see if he caught her hesitation.

To cover it up she turned to him more fully and said smugly "Ha! First one!" She wasn't afraid, see? Matewa was taking a moment to give herself well deserved ego fluff! Look how great and fast and first she was! And if this ego fluffing happened to stretch for 15 minutes or so that was fine. And if she did this behind a rocky protrusion from the cave wall it was just so no one could interrupt. Who said she was hiding!? Honestly the battle should be coming to her. In fact it sounds like it's coming right now.

Nope? No that was just an especially loud scream. Okay. Alright, that for SURE was the sound of the battle. Matewa came out from behind her rock to see a blood-drenched troll come sprinting in with a shout of "This way!" to the following trolls.

"Everybody, take cover and brace yourselves! NOW!"

Matewa felt a fresh shock of fear go through her and she ducked behind the rock again, burying her face in Dogfather's fur as they rode out the destruction of the tunnel entrance.

-----------------------------------------

Now:

The dust eventually settled and Matewa pulled away abruptly from Dogfather, coming out to see what the heck had happened. Her fear was instantly replaced with curiosity the way only ignorant children can do. What she saw wasn't very encouraging. Trolls in various states of injury, bleeding and crying over each other (Crying? Adult soldiers crying? More than the gore, that made Matewa's bloodpusher give a little confused squeeze). None of them were the adults she recognized from the march over.

It dawned on her very suddenly that these were the Rebels.

She'd been caught on the wrong side of the cave-in. Every horror movie came to mind as her thoughts went into overdrive. What would they do to her? Eat her thinkpan? Use her posture poles for jewelry? 'They're small enough to make a necklace for that bigger troll over there.' she thought morbidly. No. She shook off the thoughts. That was dumb. If they tried anything she'd just fight 'em. She could definitely take on a bunch of crying rebels. She didn't care.

Matewa looked around for her grabber claw. She found the cheap plastic toy snapped in half under some debris. Her mouth twisted dangerously close to sad and she decided she did not care about that either.

The voice that had shouted at everyone to brace rang out now in the cave. Matewa's attention snapped to the troll standing with her bloodied hands folded over her weapon like a scepter.

She contemplated the orders to the Rebels. 'The safest thing,' She thought, 'is to go along with them until I can make it back home. Then I'll go tell the royalists that it was just a mix-up and they'll thank me for being so brave.'

Matewa nodded to herself, proud of how clever she was.
And in the meantime this would be exciting.

The rumble of Aandes’ motorbike subsided. The Busthind tunnel cut deep into the soil before him. It was right where he suspected. The picture that Rasali had painted was absolutely correct. The “back-entrance” was fascinating: completely obscured from regular view, it was an impressive feat of engineering. He questioned whether riding down into the main tunnel would be a hazard worth taking. In part due to the shady characters inside, even though she had assured them he’d be safe. The word that passage would be even and decent enough on his bike was enough to at least alleviate some of Aandes’ fears. He revved his engine and plunged into darkness.

A mile passed – two now. Huge stretches of dirt and rock, seemingly eternal, carried on through bumps and flat ridges. Planes that dropped off into steep cliffs made Aandes’ tired bloodpusher jump in his chest. Sweat beaded on his forehead and dripped down his nose behind the sheen of his helmet. He was a hemoanonymous black bullet on a ferocious cruiser, and any false move would end in incapacitation or worse at his speed. The feeling was most raw exhilaration he’d felt in sweeps. Adrenaline pumping through him sent his sleepless thinkpan into overdrive. Before he knew it, his headlights passed over an enormous cavern and an equally large luminous blob. Mother Grubs were not as handsome as Alternian texts would leave one to believe. Aandes reduced the speed on his cycle and hoped to gog that no foolhardy rebels would shoot at him as soon as he passed the threshold to the caverns. His lights would make a big enough entrance – he didn’t need to bowl anyone over to get their attention. The greenblood came to a stop among the ragtag group. They were in a sorry state. Regrouping, weeping. Bleeding everywhere, children wandering lost and hopeless. But… They were alive. And the wigglers – ugh, the wigglers! Aandes grimaced behind his helmet visor and dismounted from his motorcycle. He adopted a no-nonsense swagger and waved his arms, beginning to disconnect the cords that held his stolen goods onto the back of his cycle.

“Listen up! The royalists are sending a huge number of troops out into the desert. If you’ve got your thinkpans screwed on right, you’ll avoid that area like the plague, you hear me? I’m not messing with you.” Aandes gestured sharply to the general area of Chittentown’s desert. As he scanned the room, he located a robed troll covered in pink blood. Leader. The mirror plating of his helmet swiveled in her direction and he tossed something to her that he had hidden in his palm. It was a huge link of very familiar chain. He nodded and flipped open his crate.

“I’ve brought Troll Positioning Systems fresh from the government oven. They're supposed to pick up signals specifically from local troll signals. They should be good to go. Good batteries; no idea about the signal quality. Where you’re going, you and the royalists may be s**t outta luck regardless. I managed to snake eleven of these bad boys for your enjoyment.” The twelfth one was with Rasali. Plucking one out of the box, he flicked it on and displayed the screen. Rebel dots began to ping on the display in quick order. Showing the harmlessness of the mechanism, he placed it carefully back in the box and backed away. Aandes carefully examined the group, itching to get his crate and scram.

Path 1.1:
If you were too hurt or otherwise unable to immediately pack up and give chase, you were told rather unceremoniously to stay behind. The job thrust on you was the slower task of cleaning the tunnel of detritus and forming a backup tracking party, following the rebels in their footsteps to seal off any backward retreat, so they could not perform the same manoeuvre again. Assisting you were fresh waves of drones, backups that had been waiting outside the caverns during the battle. After a pause of about half a day, the drone forces finally broke through into a great abandoned cave, littered with troll eggshells. Not given much time to take the place in, the tracks of the departing rebels were immediately discernible, with the bulk of them accompanied by a heavy object that had been dragged out the largest tunnel.

Following behind, you set out to the north. Eventually, the path sloped upwards into the moonlit night, on the very edge of the desert. The forces sent into the desert appear to have dissuaded the rebels from a sandy trek. The clear, visible tracks lead north-east deep into the woods of Four Fronds. Preparing for a long grueling walk, you set out into the forest. As you walk, you skirt the base of the great Busthind Mountains, your prey having seemingly become aware of their tracks, and trying to travel over harder ground. Tracking becomes precarious, but soon it also becomes difficult to follow as the rocky base of Busthind and turns to thick dirt and the treeline of the forest begins to grow sparser. Erosion and moisture turn the dirt into mud, and soon firmly carved out tracks are obscured by vast and foreign marshland. It is clear the rebels are making a desperate move, the difficult terrain no doubt making the passage of the huge Mother Grub a major difficulty. You are now deep in the muck of the swamp in fast pursuit!

Path 2.1:
It is a demanding task to load the Mother Grub for transport. Even for a young Grub, her girth is enormous and easily fills the huge wheeled skip that you aim to shove her into. It takes a whole team to lift and carry her into the transport, and even more trolls to collect all of her brood. Eggs and grubs alike are stored as gingerly as possible into the skip. The eggs rattle until they are lashed down, and nothing can calm the peals of frightened baby troll grubs. Unfortunately, there is only a single exit big enough to head through. After the groups of trolls leading the diversion depart through individual escape tunnels, your trek begins. As you prepare to leave, you fortuitously receive word of royalists swarming the desert. Ambush having been avoided, you continue your trail. It is quickly realized and decided that the mountains are the most strategic path. The crags and ridges of Busthind are filled with caves for hiding, and on the solid mountainside tracks are difficult to trace.

Setting out on the undeveloped Busthind trail means scouting and clearing paths. No hand is idle as you traverse the steep paths of the Northward mountains this clear night. Finally, the terrain becomes too hazardous. For individual trolls, passing through increasingly narrow paths carved out of the mountain is a deadly balancing act. It is simply unthinkable to continue to ferry the Mother Grub through such difficult terrain, and the deep Northeastern foothills of the mountain are abandoned in favor of an Eastward trek past the Four Fronds Forest. Immediately it is realized that you have already passed the forest proper, and that to the north of it is a vast swamp. The damp, waterlogged lands are what you pass through now, and slogging through damp ground becomes another challenge for you and your rebel associates. Even with your head start, royalists are in hot pursuit and you have a duty to save not only yourself, but the future of a new Alternian brood.

==> The Dark Swamp

Path X.2 will receive their next steps in around 18h. Please wrap up your rps in this thread/transition to the swamp if you are a X.1 path troll.

When did the numbers dwindle to this pitiful handful? Milieu felt herself frown, eyes scouring the grounds as she paced the cave. Really, she was exhausted and should have spent the time relaxing and regaining her strength, but there was an urge to move. Perhaps too many close calls had suddenly made the tealblood relish her movement. Sighing, Milieu wiped at her face and was about to call it quits when a voice from her left caught her attention.

Hesitating, she turned and balked in horror. There was a reason Reemus couldn't see through his one eye. Shrapnel (most likely from the warheads) had burnt into his eyes, crusting it. It was a miracle that the yellowblood couldn't feel it when he blinked or hell, just FELT it in general. Milieu didn't need to be asked twice for help. Once the shock of seeing the wound settled, she swiftly approached Reemus. Closer up, and no longer focused on his face, it was clear that there was something wrong with his chest too.

Wincing, Milieu knelt and pulled out her first aide kit. Good thing she was overly cautious most of the time. Silently she got to work, taking out antiseptic and applying it liberally to Reemus' chest. Whatever was in the wounds had to come out and Milieu worked feverishly fast, her fingers flowing from piece to piece, section to section, without hesitation. Grabbing the roll of bandages she wrapped an arm around his shoulders and helped him sit up. Once up, the bandage started to wind around his torso. She stuck a finger between the first bandage and his chest, to ensure it wouldn't suffocate him, but be tight enough to pressure the wound to clot.

Now the... Eye. Milieu worried her lower lip and helped Reemus to lie again. Removing her board, she popped the cap off a dry erase marker and carefully picked her words.

|I know Athene. I believe she is around here, don't fear. Your eye... has a lot of damage. I don't know what I can do for it. Perhaps Vremea or that greenblood doc can help you. Does it hurt?|

Nothing felt quite like home like Byakko's arms. Zeffer was good, a strong Derd who made sure he was cared for. Vremea was kind, a passionate aunt who wanted him safe. But Mermmy was Mermmy. As soon as he felt her warmth, the familiar scent of her pelts (though dampened with the iron bite of blood), more tears sprang in his eyes. Peace and weariness swam through his body. Maneki furiously shook his head at the apology, "You have a duty. You told me that." Still he wondered, if it came to a point where Merm had to pick between taking the cart filled with every rebel and the mother grub and the babies and the eggies... If she'd pick them over him. Just thinking about the scenario made his heart squeeze. He couldn't put her in such a horrible situation!

Hiccuping, he rubbed his eyes with a ball fist aggressively, "S-stupid tea-ars..." They didn't want to stop! And after she had asked him to be strong. Nodding weakly, he wrapped his arms around her long legs and moved with her, comforted by the security and partial hiding that the pelt gave. Merm was speaking to the adults, and so he took this time to just be. Reflection wasn't a thing for now. It was a thing for later, in dreams and nightmares that would keep him awake in the recoopracoon. For now, living was on his mind and the solace of his lusus.

She, it seemed, had other plans. Maneki resisted the urge to pout, but it was tremendously difficult. Hearing the talk of first aid peaked his interest. Smiling slightly, Maneki nodded and took a deep breath, "I remember how to wrap wounds. You can count on me. I'll do my job, see it through to the end. This is MY duty." There was more than a little hint of pride in that sentence.

With a new mission in place, he should have scampered off to meet with Poe, but instead he was rooted in place. Two forces were in war inside him. One said he needed to get to his duty immediately. The other said that he needed more Merm time. The battle was obvious with the soft jittering that came across his body. One side finally won, causing the mutant to snap forward and embrace Byakko, "Make sure you get your wounds treated too, Mermmy!! I'll do my best." pulling back, he gave her a fanged smile and trotted away.

Poeius was easy to spot. The odd horns were... Well odd. And the big woolbeast of a lusus looked so comfortable. Padding over, Maneki eyed the situation. Was it better to just go head first into this? Or to be more cautious? How could he tell? The emotions pouring out of Poe were sadness and dejection and they fueled the pain of missing his own lusus. Ignoring it, he approached Poe, opting to kneel beside the greenblood.

"Hey... My name's Maneki. Are you okay? You look real sad like somethin' bad happened. Are you hurt? I can help you! I'm pretty good with bandaids. See." He tapped the one adorning the bridge of his nose and grinned cheekily, "So c'mon. Tell me what's wrong!"

Ҕᾁʐɱᾁʂ Ҏӫςɧῒɱ

It took several minutes after the cave had finished collapsing for the ringing in Hazmas' ears to subside. The young troll looked around at the rubble and then up at his ape-ish guardian, a faint smile on his lips.

"Thanks Ma," he chittered and nuzzled his lusus before turning his attention back to the yellow blood... who had apparently run out from under Machim's wings already.

"Hey, you idiot!" the greenblood shouted, possibly harsher than he meant. "We don't know if the roof is done falling yet!"

Whether the young troll heard him or not, Hazmas didn't know. However, he'd given the walking wriggler one of his best reviving drafts and he wasn't going to let him waste it! Letting out an irritated growl, the youngster checked the ceiling and darted after the yellow blood.

"HEY! You're gonna get.. yourself.." The green-blood's voice trailed off as he slowed to a stop, his eyes on the other kid's lusus. There, buried under a pile of ruble right in front of him, was the oversized, water logged, mud covered, buzz-beast they'd only just rescued. For a moment he didn't do anything but stare and let his mouth hang open. However, the moment soon passed and the young troll was letting loose a flurry of primal shrieks and hoots.
'Are you kidding me?! We only just saved you and now this?! You are without a doubt the most unlucky, accident prone buzzbeast I've ever met!'
Shaking his head disbelievingly, Hazmas ended his chimpish tirade with a sigh and looked over at the tear-stained yellow blood.

'Sheesh, any more tears and he's gonna drown himself!'

"Hey, knock it off," he said gruffly, trying to snap the kid out of crying long enough to hear his plan. "Pull yourself together, alright? I'm not going anywhere yet, but this is gonna take more than you, me and Machim."

The green blood furrowed his brow as he examined the slab and looked around the cave. Most of the trolls had already left off to hunt down the rebels, and more drones were coming in. More drones meant more muscle power. A smirk curled Hazmas' lip as he cupped his hands around his mouth and hollered at the drones.

"HEY! YOU LOT! GET OVER HERE AND HELP US!" A portion of the drones obeyed, filing around the boulder as Hazmas gave his instructions. "Alright, we need cords and hooks to latch onto the top of this thing," he explained, patting the bowlder. "Once we've got those in place, we'll need as many as can fit to stabilize the bottom half and then push from the back where the the buzzbeast is. That's when you'll start pulling on the top. Idea is to flip this thing off the buzzbeast and onto the ground, got it?"

There were scattered affirmations, which he figured was enough. Truth be told, it was almost weird giving orders but things had to be done, and with no higher castes around at the moment, that left him in charge.

"Alright, let's go!" he ordered and joined the drones in working to free the other kid's lusus. Even Machim helped out, putting the hooks exactly where Hazmas wanted them. Once the cord-pulling drones were in place, Hazmas joined the others, adding his strength to help stabilize gigantic slab.

"Remember, nobody get between the pullers and the boulder or you're cave squat, got it?" he hollered at the drones and then looked over at the buzzbeast's charge. "You ready?"

Poeias looked up at the other child as he approached, and could feel himself relax. There really were children here, after all. This one appeared tealblooded, judging by the tail he wore... He wiped his tears and tried to stop sniffling like a wriggler, so he could answer Maneki. He seemed nice, and he appreciated it. Nice trolls were the best.

Asking if he was hurt made him re-evaluate his injuries, running his hand over his skin. Lanata had protected him wonderfully, so besides a few cuts and scrapes he didn't feel anything major. A slight ache in his temple, probably from the blast. He shook his head. "N-no I'm not hurt too bad..." Poe looked back at Lanata, who was resting. Green stained her wool in several spots, and others were scorched to her skin. Those were because of him, because she protected him from the fire and the rocks and bullets, from everything. He patted her gently with his fleshy hand. She was a wonderful lusus.

He wiped his cheek with his metal hand, and pulled his knees up so he could rest on them. "I'm... I'm just so scared. I didn't know that this is what they were planning when I joined the royals. I couldn't do it, it wasn't fair to just kill you!" Poe sniffled. He remembered how the Queen said they were going to exterminate some gerbils, or something like that, and then he saw that the queen meant these rebels, who he had never seen before. Unsuspecting prey. Being hunted. A feeling he knew too well, as a shepherd to a flock of woolbeasts. "So I didn't, and I fought the scary greenblood with the gun, and now I'm here.On this side. I don't know what to do..." He turned so he could look at Maneki. he didn't look scary. Or like he would attack him! And that older girl, the one with the pink blood. The rebel leader. She sent him here, right? Well, now his wailing seemed embarrassing. "I was scared you guys would attack me for being from the royal side too..."

He gave a little smile to the other troll. He didn't know anyone here, but they weren't mean. He could make friends, right? His life working for the queen was probably over, but that didn't mean he had to give up all together! "I don't think I made the wrong choice though. Maybe I could really help you all, and I could be useful!" he said, his voice picking up and getting excited.

As Akko began to bark out fresh orders and organize the remainder of her forces, Zeffer knew he was going to have to get to his feet again soon. He'd nodded as she called him out specifically, and was relieved to know that he'd be able to keep closer to her while they made their escape. She was plenty capable of warding off danger on her own, but he considered ensuring her safety part of his job, and being unable to aid her directly during the cavern run had been nothing short of nerve wracking. With a soft sigh, he began to press himself forward...until he found someone had scurried up to embrace him.

"...Voscil!? Kid, what are you doing here??" He offered a weak laugh of surprise as he returned the hug, trying not to let a sense of overwhelming concern take over instead. He remembered their little race as if it had happened yesterday, and was guilty that he had never followed up on requesting a rematch. Had she heeded the call of the military somehow, and ended up on the wrong side of the blockade? The thought made his stomach flop, and for a moment he wondered over how many youngsters had been part of the fight. He rubbed her back as she nuzzled, and gave her an affectionate pat, before sitting up and pulling her back so he could see her better.

"I'm glad you're okay, too...you didn't get hurt during all that, did you? Where is your lusus..." The question died on his lips, as he glanced around, before spotting the massive feline. A breath of relief left him, and he squeezed her shoulders gently. "We aren't out of the fire yet. Promise me you'll be careful, yeah? They'll need help getting everyone out of here quickly." He smiled anxiously, hoping she'd get the hint and go with the group that was evacuating the mother grub. He knew she was probably good at looking after herself, but he was still worried for the safety of the younger rebels.

As Vremea prepared to removed the rod, Odette slipped her hand into Aerona's, giving the younger redblood something to grip to ease her pain. Odette shut her eyes and bit the inside of her lip, muscles tense waiting for the moment. The gore would only make her faint, she was certain of that. The best she could do was not look, and hope for the best.

When Aerona let out her scream, Odette couldn't help but whimper with her, gripping her hand tighter. Only a moment longer, she assured herself. It'd be over soon. Odette pressed her lips to Aerona's temples, peppering her with quick kisses as her screaming dwindled. When the noise came to a halt, Odette opened her eyes again, watching Aerona with a strange mix of fondness and distress.

Leaning in, she pressed her head against Aerona's and sighed, giving her hand another squeeze. She laid there for a moment, trying to calm the nerves bouncing in her stomach. "You did good," Odette praised, pressing one lasting kiss to Aerona's temples. Turning her attention back to Vremea, looking up at her moirail. Her glow soothed her, making some of the pain fade by sight alone.

"Please, Vremea," She asked, offering her wounds out to the motherly yellowblood. Looking around at the other wounded trolls, a sharp pain choked in her throat, worrying that she was being selfish. But the pain was overwhelming, and how was she going to help anyone move when she herself was lame? "My foot..." Odette reminded her, though she was certain Vremea remembered. "Focus there. We can heal the rest when we're moving."

The shrill hooting that bellowed forth from Hazmas cause Nictor to mentally stumble back. So far the greenblood had been rather helpful and patient, if not a little gruff and straightforward. The current display quickly made Nictor pause, his eyes widening more, his body quivering like a plucked string. Maybe asking his help again was a bit much, but Bee was in danger, this was bad-

Nictor's frantic movements paused and that was all the time Beehemoth needed to reach out with his free legs and grapple Nictor close to his face and force his charge to look at him and listen. Bee clicked and hummed a comforting cadence, explaining that it would be fine and to calm down, it'd be okay. With a bit more convincing, the waterworks abating but not leaving and Nictor took a moment to hug Bee around his neck, not caring that he was rubbing dirt and grit into his ripped open palms or that his clothes were ruined or that Bee's mane was flattened and devoid off it's usual volume. It was a comfort he needed right now.

Pulling away, Nictor rubbed a bit at his face, hiccuping slightly and turning back to look at Hazmas. His efforts to wipe away his tears were doing nothing but make his look even worse, smearing blood from his hands across his cheeks with the rest of the dust, dirt, tears, and blood already there. Nictor jumped a bit when Hazmas snapped at him and swallowed nervously. He wasn't outright blubbering anymore, but his exhaustion and anxiety was clear on his face, the slumped line of his body and trembling limbs. Tears still sluggishly leaked down his cheeks, but Nictor wasn't thinking on that now.

He nodded when the greenblod told him he was still gonna help and began putting a plan together and diving into action. Nictor scrambled to follow the greenblood's orders. He may have tripped and knocked his head off of one of the drones at some point, making his vision swim, but he scrambled right back up and got into position to help pull the rocks off his lusus.

Nictor helped pull excess rubble and smaller rocks away while Hazmas, Machim, and a portion of the drones helped put the equipment set up.

Once the large boulder had been rigged up, Nictor placed himself by Bee to help push from the back of the boulder, ignoring the nerves jolting angrily from him continuing to use his hands. Nictor gnawed on his lip, giving Bee a questioning hum and receiving an affirmative click in response as Beehemoth started shifting his legs, wanting to be prepared to get himself up and out of the way.

"R-ready!" Nictor tried to call back, his voice hoarse and faltering, barely above an indoor voice, but his face was set.

The tealblood didn't utter a single peep, but Reemus would read her initial expression well enough. Even if it was with partial vision. If a complete stranger gave him a look like he had a second head or something, no wonder Vos and Athene had acted like they did. It was odd, though, that this lady didn't say anything the entire time she tended to him.
"Thanks," he mumbled, somewhat embarrassed to basically be like a ragdoll. He just let her move him however she saw fit, not even sure how to assist. There wasn't much room to fight back if he hadn't liked her style, either. Still unnerved by the continual silence, he watched in confusion as she wrote on a white board.

Then, she flipped it over for him to look at. Reemus squinted, slowly reading her words out with his good eye. "Your....eye...has...oh. Oh. Well, I. Uh." His hand went up to the eye in question with only a slight pause to wince at the sudden effort; the troll meanwhile full of rising panic. Eyes didn't get better like the rest of the body did. "I..." he stopped, looked at the rest of Mili's message. Took some minutes to read it through. "It...does hurt, but a lotta things hurt. Around there, around other places. I had bloody idea it meant anythin'."

But he was on his back. It was hard to do anything in this position. Vre-me-a. That was Athene's other friend, wasn't it? The one who only noticed his shoulder? She had healed Athene before, like magic. Maybe someone to look for, since he had no idea who any greenblooded doctor could be in this place.

"When can I get up?"

“G-gosh…” Aerona was flushed with Odette’s affection. Her mouth wobbled, still aching from pain. But, she would survive. And survive handily, at that. She even felt some of the ache from her bite (a pain she hadn’t even realized she still had) resolve under Vremea’s ministrations. It was wholly refreshing and almost shocking.

She smiled. “Here…” Aerona sat up in her spot. “I think my legs ‘n core ‘n everything but my arm are just fine. I can go on and head into the woods, then back around to help with the grub. I’ll go ask Byakko about it.”

Before she left, Aerona gave Odette a quick hug. “I promise I’ll be safe. No one can haul a** like me.” She put her good hand on her hip and gave a valiant smile. There was hurt behind it, but her humor was restored. “Good luck, mamas.”

Aerona blew the two a kiss with both hands and hopped away to Byakko. Once she was out of eyeshot, she slowed and braced her arm. So long as they thought everything was fine, she’d be alright too.

"Well then, I told you so,"

The words left his mouth before he had a chance to think, but there was hardly anything sour in it. No, he was mostly focused on fighting off the dizziness swimming in his head. His glasses felt like they weren't working right. It was no matter; he had other things that were far more important, far more demanding. He took one end of the cloth in his mouth to crudely tie it with his free hand, grunting as he fought to tighten it. He would feel bad about sullying his shirt later, but at least he had his arm wrapped up now. Perfectly pristine.

Well, sort of. It did the job, but there was definitely something sloppy about it. "Of course I made it, I'm fine. I'm practically untouchable" he drawled, making wild gesticulations with his hands as he did. His was fairly animated at times, yes, but something about this seemed so inherently ridiculous that it flew over his head completely.

Folding his arms, he ignored the pounding in his temple and the way his legs wanted to sway out from under him. He was stern in stature and silent for a long moment, brow furrowed and eyes so squinted that they were basically closed, his mind obviously turning over thing incredibly detailed and important and—

"So then, Invasi, If that greenblood was a traitor, do you think..." he paused again, opening his eyes a little deliriously, voice dropping, "...do you think he doesn't need the pin anymore? It would be such a waste..."

At that, he teetered precariously again, touching the spot on his forehead again. He sure was bleeding, but he already knew that, silly, foolish Aprife. Now, the misplaced glove that he suddenly found himself aware of... that was a little concerning. Was that always gone? He stared down at his hand astutely, watching the blood stick to his fingers. This wouldn't do.

"Come then!" he barked out suddenly, "Time is of the essence Invasi. The grub won't wait for everyone."

Never mind how disjointed his thoughts and his speech were. It all apparently sounded right to him.

One moment Athene had been close to Reemus and Vos, the next she had been ducking and covering as the caves shook around her, hoping Byakko knew what she was doing. It seemed though, that she did, as Athene was able to open her eyes and stand up fully when it was over and only see a cave full of trolls who she hadn't been fighting.

A breath she didn't know she had been holding came tumbling out as some of the tension in her chest was relieved. Even if it wasn't the end, and she suspected it wasn't, it was still a break from the hell that had been Kursha and battle. It was time to figure out what to do and get out of here, time to help injure those that had been caught in the fight and hopefully return them safely back home. Like Reemus and Vos, the ones she'd been with.

Athene turned, hoping to seem them nearby, but they weren't anywhere. Somehow she'd gotten separated from the pair in the blast, but they had to be close, right? If they were on the other side of the tunnel, it wouldn't be good. Not after what had happened to Reemus and Vos was just a kid and -

Athene shook her head, forcing herself to stop that train of thought. It would be fine, she'd found Reemus before and she would do it again. If she was on this side, after all, then they had to be too. It wouldn't do to panic, so she tucked her weapon away (but in a place where she could grab it easily), dusted off her poncho, and started striding through the crowds.

It was easier to look for Reemus than Vos and wherever he was, she seemed to be too so Athene kept an eye out for the teen as she made her way. It seemed that her small group weren't the only ones that had gotten the brunt of the damage but she still was worried for Reemus' injuries. They had looked awful and she didn't know how to help or what to do or... anything really. What help she was.

She managed to spot him on the ground though and Athene rushed over, hoping he wasn't doing too badly. But he had been bandaged and looked like he wasn't doing horribly and Athene smiled. "Reemus! I'm glad I found you I didn't mean to lose you in the blast.." She turned her head as she talked, her eyes finally falling upon Mili. "Milieu too! It's so nice to see you're okay."
