Leo wished his brother would eat a little more but Ash was right, his brother never really ate much. He smiled at his brother holding his hand and leaned down to kiss Asher's knuckles. "Well...since you're the one who has to be taken care of, it's my turn to worry about you this time." he said with a small smile, returning to his spot on Asher's lap.

"I just miss you a lot. I miss sleeping in the same bed as you." he said softly, as he leaned his back against his brother's chest. "Do you think it's strange I act this way with you? I mean this is the first time we've been apart for so long." he said softly, hoping his brother didn't think he was being weird or anything.

Leo gave a soft smile as he sat up and turned around to see his brother, poking his forehead and continuing to smile at him. "You think too much. You have food, a warm bed, and nurses waiting on your every whim. I would think you would try to relax at least a little bit." he said softly.

Leo blushed as his brother called him his, he sort of liked belonging to someone, though it was an odd thing to think about. Nobody really 'belonged' to anyone, but it was still a comforting thought. Leo smiled and hugged his brother tightly.

The doctor and a nurse came into the room. "Alright, are you ready to have this surgery?" he asked with a smile which quickly faded when he saw how much Asher ate. The doctor would have lectured the young man but he was just glad Asher ate the sandwich, so the man had some protein in him. "I'm glad you ate. Leo you can wait here for your brother's return." he said softly as the nurse fiddled with a few things under Asher's bed.

Leo gave a soft sigh and hopped off his brother's bed, knowing the Nurse would need to take Ash away for a few hours. "Just be careful." he said to the doctor as the nurse wheeled Asher out of the hospital room and down the hallway toward the operating room.

Leo waited for hours anxiously, and just as he was about to give up and go find the doctor, the nurse wheeled Asher back into the hospital room, still knocked out from the anesthesia. "He will probably be asleep for the rest of the night, but the surgery went just fine. Asher is going to recover for the next couple of days." The nurse said to Leo before she left the room. Leo nodded and smiled a little, sitting down in the chair next to Asher's side until he woke up.

Leo had fallen asleep with his head on Asher's bed but was startled awake when he heard Asher's gasp. He sat up and rubbed his eyes gently. "Ash...? Are you awake now?" he asked sleepily, yawning and stretching as he tried to wake himself up but the quality of his sleep wasn't that great.

Leo smiled, glad to hear his brother was awake. "They said that the surgery went well, but they're going to keep you here for a couple days so you can recover." he said softly, closing his eyes since they started to sting a little from his rubbing. "How do you feel? You're not in too much pain, are you?"

Leo couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Well hopefully you'll be able to exercise them soon." he said softly. "Hopefully the nurse will come in with some breakfast. You need your strength."

As if on cue, the nurse came in with a cart which held two trays. "Oh good you're awake Asher. The surgery went very well, but in order for you to heal properly your spine needs to remain immobile. So please try not to wiggle too much. In the meantime, I want to see all of this food gone when I pick up the tray." the nurse instructed, placing Asher's food on his nightstand, but the meal was different from Leo's. "The doctor placed a special request to the kitchens that you be placed on a high protein diet so your body can create more antibodies and heal faster. He's old fashioned that way, he may be a doctor but he doesn't like to prescribe medication to his patients if he can avoid it." The nurse smiled a bit and took her leave.
