He was a little sorry it was so sandy/dirty, really, and he'd totally offer to root around for her if she wanted him to. Because she was pretty, honestly.

So there was something about scavenging the beach for things. He'd heard about it while eating breakfast and he decided he was going to try it out.
Why not? Bradley found himself down on the sand and started searching.
Maybe he'd find something useful!

What did Bradley find in the sand?
Absolutely nothing. This patch of sand was more barren than a desert. It was devoid of everything but sand.

Lilac was thrilled when Harland offered to do the dirty work, but seeing as how she couldn't walk in the sand in her boots, well she had already fallen once and getting more dirt wouldn't hurt. Oh look soap, they should made soap sculptors. Combing the beach really was nicer with company.
