Len looked up at Beck then as he thought on the Kings words. Then he looked back down and he gulped a bit. "does it... get any easyier though...? This guilt? "((That was deep it made me cry lol))

Beck nodded with a sigh. "It's not immediate...but yes. You will eventually accept it. I've grown accustomed to it's sting...," he sighed ",I know it's a by product of war but... I never really liked deaths as a result of battle." His eyes slimmed to that of seriousness. "In almost every battle I've been in with all these years. I can only count on one hand, the amount of people that I've truly killed." The King frowned. "Even now, I'm not proud of certain things I've done. There are times when my temper flares out of control and I just simply do things." Beck looked at Len and said "A few months ago...when I was still newer to being the King. Tray and I decided to go for a walk through the town, asking people if they would like to work at my Castle." His eyes slowly went forward to the green hills that they treaded on. "When one person who still followed Viktor...attacked us." He frowned "Without thinking...I defeated him but it wasn't enough. I picked him up by his head...," his hands clenched the reigns ", and used my flames to brand him a criminal." (lol it took me a while to figure out how to put it xD)

Len blinked then he looked down "if I recall you about did the same to me... so I can believe that" he sighed then looked back up "this is life though isn't it? I've run so much I've been nieve to how the world works." ((Nice lol))

Beck blinked and looked at him, remembering how they met via one of his men stumbling upon a hex. The King gave a nervous chuckle and responded "Yeah...sorry about that. I tend to protect those I watch over." with that he nodded. "Yeah...I was the same when I met Tray."

Beck laughed and said "Of course. It's no secret I love her. I mean...," he paused to give it some thought. ",without Tray I probably wouldn't have been able to do half the things I could do now." He rubbed the mane of his horse with a smile. "She's amazing."

Beck blinked and paused at the question. His eyes slimmed as he truly though about it. He wanted to say yes but there was something in the back of his mind that always made him think it was only one-sided. Moments of her running out of his tent after he kissed her before the battle with Viktor, or walking out of his room after he still confessed to her seemed to solidify that thought. As these memories ran through his head, his heart began to beat faster with a sharp pain that constantly ran through him with every heart beat. Beck let out a sharp breath as he nonchalantly put his hand against his heart. After it subsided he responded "I don't think she cares for me as much as I do for her...but I'd like to think that there are moments when she does show her true self for me." He smiled, although hiding the pain deep in his chest. "For those moments, I'd protect her."

Len watched Beck he could tell by the Kings silence and facial features his affections wasn't being returned. As he listened to his answer though he knew he was being as optimistic as possible. He looked down then "I've never been in love before so I don't know how your feeling so I hope things work out for you King Beck."
