Pet Shop loved to fly around at fast speeds, combined with his aerial maneuverability he didn't think there was a pokemon alive that could out fly him. And as he released that final burst of speed that would drive home the Aerial Ace, he felt a great deal of satisfaction. However Crenu was well aware of the weakness a move like this had, especially against a faster opponent. With a straight line trajectory ad unstoppable speeds, there was no dodging to be done should something go awry. At this point they were fully committed. And as if on cue, the large tree pokemon released a cloud of yellow spores, and Pet Shop unable to do anything but fly straight into it. However, Crenu's gaze didn't falter, he didn't seemed worried or panicked, and in fact he even seemed to smirk a bit. "Mirror Move." He said plainly. As Pet Shop drove his beak and body into Exeggutor and knocked him back a bit, his follow through kept him nice and close even as he remained submerged in the yellow cloud. However Pet Shop's eyes twinkled as they became like glass, the image of Exeggutor releasing it's cloud of spores replaying in his eyes as a shiny mirror like surface appeared before the Beak Pokemon, shooting out an identical glittery yellow burst at the dopey looking tree. Pet Shop squawked out what must have been a taunt as he did so, feeling the spores already coursing through his own system. He didn't care though, as he felt the pain of his body fighting the seizing sensation of his muscles tightening he refused to show it.

Atlas let out a grunt of satisfaction as his tail wrapped around the enemy's and once he knew he had a grip he wasn't going to let go. His rocky tail wrapped tighter and tugged hard, he could feel the other Onix struggling to get free, and the hot headed rock snake would have been grinning ear to ear if he could. Meanwhile, up top, Jason didn't know what was going on and could hear nothing more than rumbling. Who was winning? Did his Onix succeed in grabbing the others? There was just no way to know. That's when Roark called for his next move, and Jason looked at him full of curiosity and confusion. "Psych Up? What's that? Is that like...bulk up for your brain? Do you have some kinda super brain Onix!?" What was going on! Whatever it was, it had to be bad. Down below Atlas could feel that the Other Onix suddenly got bulkier, and he had to strain himself to keep his grip from loosening. He wasn't about to let this guy slip away yet. What was going on? A moment ago he was top snake, and now this guy was suddenly as beefy as he was, he felt it's tug was now worthy of his new strength. Up top Jason didn't know what was going on and what to do, whatever this Psych Up was, Roark was using it for a reason. "Umm...ah ha! Atlas, I hope you got a hold of him in the end. Rock Tomb!" He had no way of knowing if it would work, but he had to try. Atlas roared out as he maintained a tight grip on Roark's Onix, smashing his head into the solid dirt causing several jagged rocks to shoot out around the Onix, and being underground there were certainly large rocks to spare.

"So there IS another way in to the lab other than that window," Kasiya mused as she and her Pokemon made their way down the hall. The base felt completely abandoned right now, and she idly wondered if any of the Rockets were left hiding somewhere, or if they'd all fled. She was still feeling pretty good about everything, though she felt a tiny tug of guilt at her heart as she made her way down a corridor. Her adrenaline had pretty much subsided now and a heavy tiredness was pressing down on her. The same could be said for Shocker as the exhausted mouse had fallen asleep in her trainer's arms, and Kasiya shifted her a bit to make her easier to carry. She was unable to keep herself from nuzzling the Raichu as she walked, planting numerous kisses on her cheeks and forehead as she basked in the happiness of having one of her best friends back with her again, but she knew she needed to get the Electric-type to a Pokemon Center. She needed to be checked over and at the very least, get some actual rest. "All good now," the blonde murmured as she gently snuggled the mouse's velvety fur with her cheek, fighting back more tears at the thought of what Giovanni had put her through.

Having never really been in this part of the gym/base before, it was only natural that Kasiya would take a few wrong turns and a couple of times she wound up completely lost, openly cursing Giovanni for making the basement of the complex some sort of stupid labyrinth. After what felt like forever (in actuality it was about ten minutes) she found herself in familiar surroundings and she pushed on through into the arena, the first thing she noticed was that there was a disturbing lack of her Tyranitar's rampaging. The second thing she noticed, oddly enough, was a sort of muffled honking sound and on the far side of the arena - which was looking as though a nuke had gone off while she was down in the lab - she could see a large ball of fluff rolling around and crashing relatively harmlessly into anything around it. A familiar, beat-up looking Breloom was meditating on the floor next to Ada, who was unconscious. It was safe to say that the poor girl looked rather confused as her Pokemon filed in around her.

"What the...?" she asked, stepping further into the arena and having a better look around. Almost immediately her gaze was drawn to the large Magmortar up on the balcony, which was obviously more heavily damaged than how she left it. "Wait, Portabello?" She looked to the right again, now seeing another figure alongside the Fire-type. "Napalm!" Her eyes narrowed, and even though her heart had started to flutter rapidly at the sight of him, she made an angry little scowl. "Mike!" she yelled, stomping forward and nearly stumbling over a piece of the balcony that was still smoldering. "Your'e supposed to be resting! What are you doing here!?"

Ah, Mirror Move. It was a move that Erika had forgotten that more experienced Fearow could use, but it was of little consequence. Pet Shop would have already been paralyzed by the spores and Exeggutor was blindingly fast, and Erika didn't have to say a word as the Coconut Pokemon deftly danced out of the reach of Pet Shop's mirrored spores. He put some distance between them, its faces all expressing different emotions as it did so. On her end of the battlefield, Erika appeared to be in a meditative stance, her eyes closed and hands folded neatly in front of her.

Portabello slowly exhaled, pushing his hands downward. The tension and anxiety from the battle with Ada left his body along with his breath, and the Pokemon sat beside the now unconscious Tyranitar, closing his eyes and relaxing into a meditative state.

There were times, this being one of them, where Mike was exceedingly proud of the little Breloom. "I say little." he said with a short breath. The boy grinned as he watched him settle down following his fight, recalling the time when they first met, and the troublesome then Shroomish managed to wipe out his entire team of Shiver, Titanium and Nitro in a matter of seconds, only losing because the Steelix fell on him. Sensing his trainer's thoughts, Portabello smiled underneath his obscuring cap. Beacon continued to roll around, honking in confusion as his fluffy form bumped in to the walls and over debris.

Very reliable. The phantom beside Mike commented.

"Very." Mike repeated, then glanced at the adjacent Magmortar. "You too, buddy." Napalm nodded in reply, happy to help. The sound of footsteps caught everyone's attention, everyone turning to face the hallway on the lower floor.

It is Mistress Kasiya. Portabello announced, cutting off a nearby ghost who was about to ask.

Mike perked up at the news, brushing himself off. He twisted his lips in thought, then decided a more weathered look would fit better, and rubbed some dirt on instead. He leaned against the railing, trying to look cool as Kasiya walked in with her Pokemon, but failed to maintain a nonchalant expression. He was too busy enjoying the girl's obviously flustered reaction to the scene, grinning even wider as she stomped with a huff at his presence, knowing full well she was much more happy to see him than anything. "Hello, love!" he said through his smile, hopping on Napalm. The Magmortar jumped over the railing, letting out a burst of flames to slow their descent, landing gently on the ground. "Maybe!" Mike replied, jumping off of his Pokemon and walking towards Kasiya. "But did you honestly think I wouldn't come to give you a little help?" He reached up and gently brushed his fingers across the girl's cheek as he looked into her eyes. "I wasn't about to lay in some bed when you could have needed me, ya know?" He looked down at the tuckered out Shocker, relieved that she was sleeping and not something much worse. "Especially not for something this important to you. We look out for each other. It's just what we do, remember?"

Hearing Mike's voice made Shocker stir a bit in her trainer's arms, but her eyes remained closed and she snuggled up a little closer to the girl. Still maintaining a rather annoyed frown she looked over at the unconscious Tyranitar and at the massive destruction the arena had suffered, trying to pretend like she wasn't secretly elated to have Mike here. She then looked over to Portabello, seemingly avoiding eye contact with Mike for now as she knew that if she looked right at him, her facade would be over, despite how hard she tried to hang on to her anger. She knew that everything he said made perfect sense and that he was more than right - it hadn't been very smart of her to attack this place on her own. What if the big bosses had been here? She likely would have lost all her Pokemon to them, and there was no telling what could have happened to her as a result.

His fingers were warm against her cheek and she closed her eyes, realizing that if she'd truly wanted to be alone in this, she never would have sent him a message in the first place. "Yeah, well..." she trailed off, her anger fizzling out as though Ariel had drenched her with a Hydro Pump. "I just wanted her back," was all she managed, looking up into Mike's eyes, and then down at the Raichu in her arms. "I just wanted her back."

She was almost certain that she was going to start crying, but perhaps she was all cried out for now, as all that escaped her throat was a soft sigh. "I'm sorry," she said, looking up at him with a small, almost shy little smile. "I know I shouldn't have tried to do this on my own, but in my defense..." she trailed off, and gestured to the arena. As though just to emphasize her point, a large chunk of what used to be the balcony came loose and crashed to the floor. It was a little surprising that the ruckus hadn't caused the Raichu or Tyranitar to stir. "I think I did pretty good, y'know?"

Sensing that Kasiya was balancing on the edge of her emotional breaking point, Mike wrapped his arms around the girl and pulled her into a warm, gentle embrace, making sure not to push up against the potentially injured Shocker. "You did what many would want but few could. I'm not trying to put you down." he said softly, resting his lips against her forehead. "I'm just happy the both of you are okay." The boy couldn't help but jump at the sudden noise, his rapid heartbeat causing his scars to glow for the briefest of moments. "Pretty good?" he repeated with a scoff, putting his hands on her shoulders and pushing himself away. "Pretty good?" he asked again, loosing a laugh. The sudden rush of adrenaline had made him rather giddy. "Good couldn't even dream of you. You were amazing!" His mouth hung open as he tried to pick a single thought out of the sea of compliments swirling around in his head. To hell with that, she was getting them all!

"You death lasered a door, you took on an entire arena full of Rockets, I'm all but positive you traumatized more than few of them, and you got your Pokemon back! I could feel the ground shake beneath my feet as you so perfectly destroyed everything in your path. Portabello-Portabello could feel your intensity from the woods! The woods!" Between his hysterical giggling and torrent of words, he had to take a breath before continuing. "You were brave, incredible...you have the most beautiful laugh-" Mike was lost to the world as he recalled Kasiya's musical cackle echoing through the halls, hoping beyond all hopes he could hear it every day for the rest of his life. "I have never been more impressed, proud, or attracted to you in my. Entire. Life." There was a burning desire in his eyes as he spoke, accented by light wisps of smoke rising from his body as he caught his breath. "I couldn't think of a better half than you, Kasiya." he said, shaking his head, his open mouth curling upward the ends.

"You're perfect."

The crowd surrounding the two combatants had grown to a rather impressive size. As Prickles anchored himself to the ground, the spectators began to murmur among themselves about this atypical matchup.

"I thought Cacturne was a Dark type." one of them mentioned.
"It is, but that Alazakam hit it with Miracle Eye, which lets psychic attacks effect it. I think."
"Boy, I sure wish we could understand them."

Sasha could feel her brow dampening as she waited for Bishop to issue his next command. With his immunity removed, Prickles as now able to be hit with Bayard's psychic attacks, which as an Alakazam, were naturally powerful. She studied her opponent, whose statuesque expression belied the pounding heart beneath his chest. It had been so long since his last battle, but his movements and thoughts came so naturally you would think it was only yesterday. Bishop raised his hand, pressing his fingers together.

"(Bayard, Psybeam.)" No sooner had the old man snapped his fingers than a did brightly colored beam shoot out of the Alakazam's forehead and slam into Prickles' chest, knocking it back. There was an audible snicker from some of the members of the crowd as the cactus Pokemon bobbed back and forth like an inflatable clown as the attack slammed his upper body into the ground, his legs firmly rooted.

"(Pin Missile!)" she called out. Prickles drew back his arm, throwing it forward and sending a volley of needle-like spines towards the Alakazam.

"(Dodge it with Teleport!)" Snap. In a bright flash of light, Bayard disappeared, reappearing several meters to the left. Prickles turn and loosed another round, which was also dodged. The Cacturne, who surprisingly enough wasn't enjoying the psychic slap session he was partaking in, raised both arms in front of him. He shot out a spread of needles from the right tip, waiting a second before firing from the other. Bayard avoided the first attack, reappearing just in time to be peppered by the second, then a third as Prickles took advantage of the opening. They would have scored a direct hit if not for the Reflect, which slowed down the projectiles, even stopping a few.

"(Good work, Prickles!)" Sasha cheered, proud of her Pokemon's quickness. With all due respect, it wasn't a trait of Prickles' species to be fast thinkers. The girl felt her tensions easing up as both the Ingrain and the Leech Seed

"(Most, impressive, miss.)" Bishop said, narrowing his eyes in concentration. This is no time to get overconfident. he thought. He may have removed the Cacturne's greatest advantage, but it still had a wide array of attacks that would take Bayard down quickly if he was not careful, not to mention its every increasing sustainability.

Speaking of sustainability, all of this movement had made Prickles mighty hungry. Reaching under his lantern-like hat, he retrieved an all too familiar slab of meat: the remnants of the burger Sasha had bought for him at the Slateport Beach Party. "(You still have that?)" What had it been, a week? And he still hadn't finished it? Didn't he throw the rest of it in his mouth a few days ago...? Her frustration disappeared when the Cacturne brought the patty to his mouth, munching on it before sticking it back underneath his hat. Prickles let out a satisfied grunt. Good as new. Bishop's brow furrowed slightly at the development. Sasha picked up on this, and decided that now was the time to strike while the odds were currently in her favor. "(Another Pin Missile!)" On command, Prickles launched another blast of needles. Bayard, weakened from the last attack, was only able to dodge one volley, and was littered with spines. It hurt much more this time. The Reflect must have begun to wear off.

"(Recover!)" Bishop ordered with another snap. Bayard tightened his focus, restoring his strength out of sheer force of will. The old man looked to Sasha, who now wore a confident smirk. He knew full well that she had the upper hand now, as did the crowd, who had begun cheering for the girl and her Pokemon. Sasha, fueled by her new fans, dramatically ordered for Prickles to perform a Giga Drain. "(Psychic attack, Bayard!)" Being the faster of the two, the Alakazam threw out his hand, a blue aura enveloping his opponent. With a flick of his wrist, Prickles as sent skyward, despite his network of roots. He raised his other hand and slammed it to the ground, the Cacturne following suit. Prickles landed with a loud thud, and lied motionless on the ground. Everyone leaned forward and held their breath in collective silence, waiting for him to move, especially Sasha, whose heart had all but stopped.

Get up! She urged, biting her lip, her eyes darting back and forth from Prickles to Bishop. The tension was so distracting that no one seemed to notice that ground stirring beneath Bayard. With a noise so startling most of the crowd screamed in fright, vines burst from the ground, wrapping around the Alakazam's legs and pulling him to his knees. As the roots tugged, Prickles was dragged across the ground, his body snapping back upright once he reached his starting spot. There was a sickening crackling noise as the Pokemon twitched about before focusing on the now bound, Alakazam. Prickles loosed a guttural hiss as the vines began forcibly drawing energy from Bayard with a powerful Giga Drain, who could do nothing about it. Between that, the Leech Seed, the roots, and a quick bite from his burger, Prickles easily nullified any damage he had received from Bayard's Psychic. The crowd hollered at the display, cheering 'Prickles! Prickles!' (albeit in Sasha's accent, making it sound more like 'Pre-cools! Pre-cools!'). The vines dislodged themselves from Bayard, who flopped to the ground. He started to rise, but was enveloped by a red light and recalled back into his faded Pokeball.

"(Miss, the match is yours. I know when I am bested.)" Bishop said calmly, bowing to the girl, eliciting another cheer from the spectators. "(You fought bravely.)" Sasha felt like she was going to take off, and geared up for a victory leap before stopping herself. Instead, she accepted the old man's surrender with a curtsy of her own, making sure not to fan out her skirt too much. He was being respectful, there was no need to rub it in.

It was a little hard to believe that the tension in the air was already this thick, as only one round had passed by so far. Keegan could feel the sweat starting to bead on his forehead but he ignored it, refusing to appear weak in front of his father, his mother, Flannery, and all these seemingly-random people. He stared hard at the ground, painfully aware of the fact that even he didn't know where the Arbok would surface. Dig wasn't exactly a weak move, either, so if it hit, it would likely cause a lot of damage to his father's Houndoom.

Todd, meanwhile, stood on his end of the arena, arms folded over his chest and he wore a relaxed, yet confident expression that made the younger Summers feel green with envy. "Houndoom, use Howl," the older man said, still watching the ground intently. The canine took a few steps back and planted her feet before loosing a bone-chilling howl; her body glowing with the slightest trace of red as she nullified the effects of Loki's Intimidate ability.

A small murmur went through the crowd but Keegan couldn't hear anything specific, so he pretended not to notice and instead fixed his gaze on the Houndoom, deciding to concentrate on how much better it would look after Loki had beaten it to a pulp. On cue, the Arbok reappeared in nothing less than an absolute explosion of rock and dirt from directly beneath where the canine was standing, ramming the tip of his head into the Houndoom's belly and sending her skyward. The Dark/Fire-type gave a pitiful yelp as she came crashing back down again and it took a moment for her to be able to get up again. When she did, however, she came up snarling, looking mightily unhappy with Loki. Seeing the successful attack allowed for Keegan to breathe again, and all at once he felt relaxed and comfortable in his own skin. It might have helped that upon seeing his Houndoom tossed across the battlefield like a stuffed toy, Todd's calm demeanor faltered - for no more than a second, but a falter was a falter - and seeing this caused the redhead to actually smile.

"Nice one, Loki," he said, now folding his arms over his chest to adopt his father's stance. "Since they seemed to really get a rise out of your Dig, let's see how they feel about a Glare." The Arbok hissed gleefully in reply; oh how he loved to use this move! He darted forward a few feet, his forked tongue occasionally tasting the air as he rose up high on his coils and flared his hood. The face-like pattern on his underside seemed to come into a life of its own, eyes glowing and mouth creeping wider and wider into a slasher-esque smile. In the meantime, Todd had called out for a Fire Fang, having reverted back to his stoic self and the Dark-type had been coming in, flaming fangs bared. She skidded to a stop, however, upon seeing the sinister gaze of the Arbok's patterning, now completely frozen with fear.
=====
Leroy's Zangoose gave a shriek as it was suddenly being bathed in flames, slashing its claws wildly as though it would help stop the onslaught of flames. In the meantime, Miharu had recalled Petunia and started to run, not making it very far before Mori was at her side. The Ponyta grabbed a hold of the girl by scruff of her neck and tossed her onto her back and the two made a break for it; the Ponyta's blazing mane and tail making them look like a comet. As the flames died down, Leroy got a glimpse of the girl and the Fire Horse as they turned the corner. "This'll make it more interesting, then," he said, looking over to Zangoose and giving a nod. The Pokemon's sleek, white fur was singed black in places, but all the flames had done was piss it off. With a growl, the Cat Ferret Pokemon tore off like a shot, putting its Quick Attack to the test as it was now a footrace between it and the Ponyta, even if the Fire-type had a head start.

Miharu wasn't really the crying type, but as the wind whipped at her face and through her hair, she felt the unmistakable coolness of tears streaking across her cheeks and she choked back a sob, unable to think of a time when she'd felt so frightened; so betrayed. She clung tightly to the Ponyta as she ran, too upset to even consider how Mori's fiery mane didn't wasn't burning her at the slightest contact. In her haste to escape the Team Rocket member and his Zangoose she hadn't paid attention to the direction she'd gone, and she quickly realized that this was not the way to the Pokemon Center. In fact, she wasn't even sure where she was going at all, so for now all she could do was cling to Mori and hope that the young Ponyta could put enough distance between them to keep them safe.

The one, tiny flaw in this escape plan was that Mori was not yet used to having a rider, and being young, did not have the stamina to run for long distances. She managed about three or four solid blocks before she began to slow, and Miharu could feel the Ponyta's chest heaving from the exertion. She looked back over her shoulder, but didn't see anyone follow her, and for a moment, she almost allowed herself to relax. The Zangoose was relentless, however, quickly closing the distance in bursts of speed. It moved like lightning, suddenly appearing at the Ponyta's side and lashing out with its dangerous claws. Mori gave a pained, terrified cry and reared up, sending her rider on a painful collision course with the ground. Shaken up but not hurt, Miharu got to her feet, calling out for Mori to do something - anything - as the Zangoose continued to attack.

"You're perfect."

Out of every thing that Mike had just said to her, the last two words were the ones that registered the loudest and clearest. Kasiya couldn't help but giggle, and, of course, blush at all the praise and compliments. She opened her mouth to say something in reply but words failed her at first, and all she could do was smile up at him, her cheeks still tinted pink. "I could say thank you, but it really wouldn't be enough. I... I really don't know what to say," she admitted with a bit of a shrug. "I can't really explain it, but knowing that you're there for me, it makes me stronger. I'm actually having a bit of a hard time believing that you're actually here with me. For me." Her statement couldn't be more true, because if someone had told her a week ago - heck, even a day ago - that she'd be standing here with him like this, she never would have believed it in a million years. Her blush deepened a bit as she leaned in a bit expectantly, but stopped as she realized they were surrounded by quite the audience and she coughed a bit, noticing out of the corner of her eye that Ada had started to stir.

Now looking a bit embarrassed she fished out the Tyranitar's Pokeball and recalled her. She repeated the process with her other Pokemon, stopping when only Shocker was left and she paused, suddenly realizing that she had no idea what had happened to the Raichu's Pokeball. It was of little importance, however, as the main thing was that she had Shocker back in her possession and she nuzzled the Raichu gently, causing the mouse to open her eyes again. She blinked and looked back and forth at the two humans a few times. It took a moment for the Raichu to catch on but she did noticed the rather intimate moment between her trainer and Mike, and she gave the two a cheeky grin and slid down out of Kasiya's arms and tottered over to where Portabello was still meditating and she plopped down unceremoniously beside him.

Still feeling a bit embarrassed, Kasiya looked around at the destroyed gym before glancing up at Mike again. "So, um, what now?" she asked a bit uncertainly.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 28, 2013 5:49 pm

Mike could help but smile at Kasiya's words, amused that she would expect anything different. They had always been there for each other, a little spelunking in Rocket territory wasn't going to change that, no matter how much he hurt. Ouch, by the way, but a little pain wasn't going to change that either! There was just something about her that made any sort of hardship seem less like a roadblock and more like a challenge; her shy, sweet smile the light at the end of the tunnel. Just like the one she had on now. He had become so intent on her that he barely noticed the girl recall her Tyrannitar. "Oh right." he said, shaking his head to snap him from subjecting Kasiya to his googly eyes. "She uh, got a little rambunctious after we beat everyone else and tried to take a bite out of P.B., so he had to knock her out."

A thousand apologies, Miss Kasiya. the Pokemon's voice rang inside their heads. Mike waved off the overly-polite Pokemon.

"Her pride might be a bit stung, but she'll be okay. She put up a great fight, you would have been proud. Oh, and congratulations on the evolution!" he bobbed forward as she leaned in, aware that she might still be a bit shy about them. He smiled at Kasiy's adorable hesitation, fully content to take matters into his own hands.

"Now?" Mike began, leaning in and planting a sneaky, but lasting kiss on her lips, unable to not grin as he did, both eager and fully aware of the reaction the action would bring. "We go and drop our Pokemon off at the center and grab a bit of well deserved food. After that, I seem to recall there is a Gym back in Hoenn that needs to be shown just whose the most powerful..." Duo? Team? Compatriots? Ah, screw it. "Couple in all the lands?" The boy raised his hand, balling it into a fist, there was a soft sizzle. "What do you say?" He wore a mischievous smirk. "Wanna keep this hot-streak going?"

Portabello remained seated after Ada was recalled, acknowledging the Raichu's presence with a simple nod. It is good to see you well. he said simply to Shocker.

On the topic of simple, as the two Pokemon conversed, a large cotton ball silently rolled across the arena, stopping inches from behind the Raichu. A small, yellow snout poked out from the end of it, sniffing the Pokemon. Once suspicion had been confirmed, Beacon popped out from the ball of fluff. Well, his head and now wagging tail did. The overly excited Ampharos honked wildly in a frantic attempt to communicate just how happy he was to see the Raichu. Beacon was, of course, not only oblivious that her rescue was the point of the mission, but that she was ever missing in the first place.

Ok, that Budew was really cute. But I couldn't let myself get sidetracked. After giving it some fresh water and food, and playing with the little darling for a while, it brought me to it's friends. I couldn't be rude, so I had to play with them too, but there was important business to be done. My detective instincts told me that I should search for Jae in the big city of Jubilife. I was a little worried at the rough characters I might come across there, there were some intimidating characters all around. Like those brightly dressed clowns handing out coupons trying to promote big business and the technological wonders that the developers in this town want young trainers to believe they need. Sickness. Those colors they wore were so icky, their fashion sense made me want to cry. I thought clowns were suppose to make you laugh, not feel dreadful, though I suppose that hit movie from way back touched on how creepy they can be, maybe we all have misconceptions about clowns. One of them actually talked to me, I thought I was done for but luckily I had my own poketech that scared him off. I know I said they were tricking trainers into getting their product, but this poketech is actually pretty cool. I got mine in a very fashionable purple of course, but I have to hide it since it clashes with this gritty look I'm going for at the moment. Anyway, that's not important.

It was here in this city that I met a chubby man. He wasn't a very nice man either, had a rather sour attitude about him in all honesty. He was a bit of a bully, and it seems this roughneck's territory was the area around the poke center. It was only natural that I ask around there, wherever Jae was in his state of mind he had pokemon with him thanks to the old gruff professor. He always had an eye for talented trainers, I guess he saw that spark in Jae even with his memory gone. Once this is all over, I'll have to have a proper rematch with him. But I digress, pokemon get hurt, and sooner or later they'd end up at a center very much like that one there. Upon asking about the young man that went by Jake now, this chubby guy made a bit of a scene. Wasn't too happy that I seemed to be an acquaintance of the spikey haired youth, seemed these two had gotten into a bit of an altercation. Over a dame at that, I never pegged Jae for a lady killer, but hey I only met the guy once. After some aggressive negotiations he spilled his beans and told me he saw the guy go north, now it's been some time since I've been in Sinnoh but there's no mistaking his path from this point on. With that big mountain bisecting the region, he'd be heading into Floaroma town and then into the Eterna forest. If Jake is anything like Jae then he'll be wanting the badge Eterna City has to offer, but if he isn't then he'll blast through the town and I may lose him for good. And so here I am, standing at the check out line buying some sweet honey. I'd like to spend more time in Floaroma, maybe get some supplies for my pokemon, but the time isn't now. Man I wish it were raining, these internal dialogues would be so much cooler if it were. Omigosh there's a Combee hovering over that flower, it's so cute! No, focus Ken. Your friend is at risk. Ooooh and he has he has a little friend too, adorable! hmm maybe I'll design a dress that resembles a Vespiquen's bell like body. That'll be gorgeous.

Ken laid his money down on the counter and pocketed the honey, there was no way he was going to visit Floaroma and not get some delicious one of a kind honey. But it was only a short pit stop. Floaroma wasn't a very large town and unfortunately Jae was nowhere to be found. the fact that he was traveling with a female made things easier on Ken though, as people tend to notice a couple when they see one. Ooo were they really a couple now? Whoever this mystery girl was, had Jae swooped her off her feet by saving her from that guy? How romantic! Not that he needed to be pointed in the right direction, he was certain Jae would be entering the Eterna forest from here and a few of the locals confirmed that they might have seen someone like that headed there. That was all Ken needed, and with that he was off. coat collar turned up, he put on a fierce face as he headed off into the forest, he was getting closer and closer to his target, he just hoped he wouldn't lose him in the dense forest.

Despite Pet Shop's proud demeanor and confidence in his trickery, the Exeggutor's speed was too great at the moment. While his speed had doubled, the golden bird's speed was cut in half by the paralyzing spores inside his body. They were currently worlds apart in speed, but Pet Shop wasn't done yet. The fact that the tree had dodged even though he'd fired his spores point blank annoyed him to no ends, he would have squawked foul if he could have. "Don't let up, hit him with it again." Was all Crenu could say, this was a bothersome set back but it didn't bother him. Weather it was one hurdle or another, he had plans for each one. He'd rather his pokemon be paralyzed than anything else at the moment, but it was still unfavorable. Pet Shop's eyes gleamed as he was ready to attack again, diving at the coconut Pokemon who was so smug it didn't even bother to attack, he was going to rip those heads apart for such insolence. But he fell straight to the floor, frozen in his tracks. The tightness in his muscles was too great and he couldn't fight it off, his body was fully paralyzed and the Fearow let out a weak muffled caw as his body failed to listen to him.

Several minutes of struggling with an enraged Metapod and then patching oneself up later Kressen was ready to begin his nightly ritual. Ignoring the throbbing pain in his head he began to stretch his legs for a bit of light exercise before bed. Gigas was beside him following what his trainer did and instructing Odin as well. The meaning behind these actions were lost on the newly hatched Pokemon, but if tried them anyways swaying its body back and forth trying to stretch its muscles.

Mateus could only watch since it was only a cocoon, but that was fine with Kressen. The rowdy bug type had already gotten its exercise for the night in his mind. "Good job guys. Now let's try push ups Odin. Do what Gigas and I do." He got into position and started to push his body up and down off the ground, Gigas mirroring his moves exactly.

Odin stared at the two for a moment before giving it a try. For a moment it wasn't so bad, but then his bladed arms sunk into the ground and he got stuck like in the battle only several hours before. Gigas snorted trying to resist the urge to laugh as Kressen smirked. "Don't worry buddy. I'm sure you can do sit ups and jumping jacks without getting stuck...I think."

Kasiya giggled a bit at Mike's explanation of why Ada was knocked out, and nodded. "Yeah, it's okay. And thanks! She's definitely a lot more.. uh... angry since her evolution, but she's going to be a great asset, I think." She looked over at the Breloom and smiled, knowing that Portabello wouldn't have acted unless it was warranted. She had been about to tell him not to worry about but she was interrupted by Mike's sneaky kiss, which essentially wiped all coherent thoughts from her mind and all she could do was smile and giggle. When he pulled back she pouted cutely at him, but his impish grin was contagious and her pout didn't last.

It took a moment for her to figure out exactly what gym he was talking about, but when it clicked, she nodded in agreement. "Oh, yeah! There's that gym where they do the double battles, right? I remember now, we were going to do it together!" The thought of going into a gym and actually winning a badge was thrilling, but even more so knowing that she'd be going in with Mike. She didn't even really hear his rambling over finding the right word, as in her mind, their relationship had been made official, solidified, confirmed, whatever when he'd kissed her, and any doubts she'd had beforehand had been put to ease.

"I do need to get Shocker to the Pokemon Center," she said, stifling a small yawn. "And I wouldn't mind something to eat and a teensy bit of down time. Though, speaking of gyms, I really wouldn't mind paying another visit to Blaine for my next badge sometime soon." She imagined that battling the Fire-type using Riddle Master would be exciting and fun. She looked over to where Shocker was sitting with Portabello, unable to stop herself from laughing as the giant ball of fluff that was Beacon had rolled over to them.

The Raichu nodded in reply to Portabello's greeting and leaned back a bit, her eyes closing as she allowed herself to relax. Granted, she'd much rather be relaxing in her Pokeball, or better yet, on a warm soft bed, but her thoughts were interrupted by the warm, unmistakable tingle of static electricity, and she looked back to find herself literally nose to nose with a certain, fluff-covered Ampharos. "Chuuu!" she cried, flailing around fearfully for a moment, but she calmed down when she realized that Beacon was only just happy to see her. She grinned a bit meekly at the oddball Pokemon, reaching out and giving him a gentle pat on his nose.

"That is also something we could easily do." Mike said, the simple prospect of plans exciting him. "I'm going to have to challenge him sometime soon as well, but I should really work on some of the other Kanto badges first, after I get all the Hoenn ones at least." The thought of the two of them battling side by side in an official Gym badge had him visibly shaking with excitement. "Let's go get Shocker healed up."

Beacon, ever confused as to his actual species, responded to the Raichu's hesitant pat by happily licking her across the face. After all, his tongue spent so much time out of his mouth he had to put it somewhere, and he could say hello at the same time. That's what we call a win/win situation right there. Paying no particular attention to Shocker's reaction, a strange sensation came across the Ampharos as he failed to detect much static pull from her. While most manner of logical thought sprinted from Beacon and never looked back, baser instincts were at least partially familiar to him. He sniffed, confirming his suspicions. Shocker was out of juice. Not good. An electric Pokemon without power could get very sick if not charged. Well he would certainly fix that. An atypically serious expression curling his features, Beacon did what he did best, and detonated in electrical energy, sending a wave of lightning and cotton flying out in all directions.

Portabello, who had given up monitoring the Amprahos' thoughts a long time ago, was taken completely off guard. The last thing he heard was a pop before falling face first on the arena, his fur crackling with static.

Being more than two feet away, Mike was able to react a bit quicker. Hooking Kasiya's waist with his arm, he twirled her around so that he was in between her and the oncoming lightning. He didn't feel like watching her pretty hair, or skin get singed, and on him, people probably wouldn't even notice. The boy's stunt was unnecessary, as before the attack reached them, the ground in front of them burst forth in a torrent of molten rock, absorbing most of the blast, and causing the rest to scatter harmlessly around them. Mike looked over to Napalm, whose cannon was still jammed into the arena floor, which now sported a small crater. "You are amazing! It's like I don't even need to do anything anymore!" he laughed, the Magmortar replying with a simple shrug. He turned to Kasiya, intently checking her over to make sure she was alright. A few out of place hairs, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little combing.

As he fretted over the girl he noticed the flakes of cotton raining down on them like snow, and couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. There was always something crazy going on when they were around each other. At this point, almost getting zapped by his own Pokemon after trashing a Rocket base was becoming pretty commonplace, and he wouldn't want it any other way. Still laughing, Mike pulled Kasiya into a hug, overjoyed that she had stuck around with him despite overwhelming evidence proving he was a complete and total hazard. "I love you." he said between fits, shaking his head apologetically. "We should leave before the roof caves in and we die for real."

Now that the battle was done, the crowd for the most part dispersed, a few stragglers lagging behind to watch the outcome of the match. "(You were incredible, Prickles!)" Sasha cheered, running over to her Pokemon and giving him a carefully positioned hug. The Cacturne made a sort of grumbling noise, but Sasha knew that meant he was happy for the praise. "(You just keep impressing me. And you!)" she looked up at Bishop. "(If I didn't know any better, I would say you trained in secret. That was an amazing battle! You completely turned it around. I thought I was going to lose!)" She laughed nervously, the gravity of how close she came to eating her words still had her shaken up.

"(I assure you I did not, miss.)" the butler replied. "(I suppose it is something that you simply do not forget over time, no matter how long.)"

"(I would have loved to see you back in the day when you were at your prime.)" Sasha mused, trying to imagine a young Bishop. "(I can't believe you quit.)" she said offhandedly, leaning in expectantly.

"(A story for another time, perhaps.)" Bishop said, overtly deflecting the obvious fish for information. Sasha pouted. "(You yourself are quite skilled, miss.)" he said with a proud smile. "(I should have known you would take to Pokemon training as well as your other skills.)" his expression faded as he drew his golden pocket watch and checked the time. "(Your father will be expecting me soon.)" he said with a sigh. "(I will report to him that I have failed to bring you back as per our arrangement.)" Sasha frowned at the notable disappointment in Bishop's tone. He may have his moments of being overbearing, but the girl knew it was only out of love, and it was quite apparent from the way he was pandering to her that he missed her greatly. She would hate to send him back home all alone. A sly smirk crept on her lips as she thought of an idea.

"(What makes you think you're going anywhere?)" she said, scoffing as if Bishop had forgotten something obvious.

"(Excuse me, miss?)" the old man stammered, quite confused.

"(The conditions of our battle, obviously!)" Sasha said, rolling her eyes. "(If you win I go home, but if I win you have to stick around and be my servant.)" She pushed a breath through pursed lips, feigning annoyance.

"(I seem to have missed that particular condition.)" Bishop said, his eyebrows relaxing as he realized the girl's intention.

"(I may have murmured it under my breath before the fight started.)" she lied, trying to look innocent and failing. "(Nevertheless!)" she raised her hands and clapped them twice. "(Bishop. I would like to go to Celadon. I have a few errands to perform before my photoshoot, then I must continue my League challenge with Koga.)"

"(I will procure you a ticket for the train at once, miss.)" the butler said with a bow, wearing a hidden smile. He turned and began walking down the road to the station.

"(Good.)" Sasha said simply, following behind her butler. Her smile was much easier to spot.
