Then the test is smoking something, because there's no way a Pope that declared abortion to be a deadly sin is more left than Obama.

i'd believe it.

besides, i'm personaly opposed to abortion.... confused i understand the other side of it, and i have had years of thought on it to decide where i sit on the matter, but i just can't stand the idea of aborting a child unless either it and/or the mother is at a serious health risk.

i realy don't like obama much at all. never did from teh start. i didn't vote for him in 2008 (i voted Cyncthia McKinney, of the Green Party), though i do love his speaches. ifind that he is falsely portrayed by everyone. people say he is a Socialist, i have heard people say they voted against him for that reason alone, and people who have voted for for it, and i just don't see it. his attitude toward authoritarian government regulation of corporate business seem blatantly applied for the sake of continuing a capitalist policy. it is not the ideal, by any longshot. i support him is his economic efforts only because i know that it is the only economic policy any substantial group in america will tolerate which will keep america's economy alive right now. but if i had my way we'd scrap the federal reserve and go back to a Barter System.

obama's policies elsewhere are quite frankly irritating to me. instead of fiscal responcibility he wants government regulations. i like my guns, thank you very much! he wants to help america with Health Care, which i support, and he wants america to move to sustainable clean energy, which i also support. but his war policies and command disgust me! i'm not afraid to say i would rather have Michael Steel (chairman of the republican party) commanding our forces! he for one understands the rediculousness of keeping this war going, let alone giving the ok to attack civilians, or covering up field reports, or firing a General for saying the same stuff i do!

i know that i don't like the pope any more than i do obama, but i would say the pope is more Left than obama. there are many more issues than one concerning Liberal/Conservative and authoritarian/Libertarian, which is the whole premise of the Political Compass quiz.

For the records, the federal reserve isnt even part of the government, it is not supposed to operate in the function it does. The government is supposed to print the money. But ahwell. As for the pope, personally I don't care, he has control over his people and unless they wish to think for themselves, nothing I say will change that.

As for the ball I will have to check it out.

admittedly, part of the reason i am so against it is because it is privately owned, not even federal. but besides that is the fact that without the Gold Standard, it isn't based on anything substantial, it isn't backed up by anything real at all.

My political views can be summed up in one movie: Interstate 60.

My favourite quote:

Bob Cody: Ever hear of Frederick Turner, Mr. Oliver?
Neal Oliver: No, Sir.
Bob Cody: Well, he was an historian. About a hundred years ago he came up with a theory about the frontier. He said the frontier was a safety valve for civilization, a place for people to go to keep from goin' mad. So, whenever there were folks who couldn't fit in with the way things were, nuts, and malcontents, and extremists, they'd pack up and head for the frontier. That's how America got started - all the crackpots and troublemakers in Europe packed up and went to a frontier which became the Thirteen Colonies. When some people couldn't fit in with that, they moved farther west, which is why all the nuts eventually ended up in California. Turner died in 1932, so he wasn't around long enough to see what happened to the world when we ran out of frontier. Some people say we have the frontier of the mind, and they go off and explore the wonderful world of alcohol and drugs, but that's no frontier. It's just another way for us to fool ourselves. And we've created this phony frontier with computers, which allows people to, you know, think they've escaped. A frontier with access fees?

huh.... o.o that's beautiful and bittersweet....

much. o_O; i am more a fan of Opeth and Mastadon than any of those though.

Maybe I just hate Dethklok so much that I don't really listen to their music. My boyfriend gave me s**t about it too.

I haven't really listened to Opeth or Mastadon.

realy? o.o what about them do you hate? i realy only got into them cause i watched the cartoon they are from, Metalocalypse. sweatdrop

but yeh, Opeth and Mastadon are great, you should give them a try. 3nodding a mix of Swedish Mellodic Death Metal with Acoustic Rock and a very Emotive feel... whee

i have a Pandora Station i call Dark Rock Radio which draws music similar to Opeth, Ego Likeness and Pink Floyd.

I think Metalocalypse is funny, but I really can't stand the music.
I just really hate Dethklok. Like, really really.

I'll check 'em out.
Do you like Children of Bodom?

meh, depends on the song realy. sweatdrop they're a bit heavy for me. i'm not a huge thrash fan.

See, I hate thrash, but I love them.
THEY'RE melodic.
I've seen them twice. mrgreen

something tells me you wouldn't get along with most of my music. xd the Metal i am into makes up such a small portion of my tastes, you'll see alot more Blues, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, Folk, Bluegrass, Trance, Disco, and Goa.

I'm not a specific metalhead.
My three favorite bands are:
blink-182, Pepper, and Lamb of God.

I play guitar and sing in an acoustic band, and I play the ukulele.
My dad's in numerous blues bands. I really want to learn to play harmonica.

whee i do need to get back with Ian about more music... it's gotten into a very Doom Metal feel, despite my original intentions of Blues/Hip-Hop with Southern Rock influences... but i realy like how it's come out! biggrin

I played the clarinet from 5th to 12th grade. I got bored of it in the 9th grade and taught myself the flute.

Geez I haven't touched either one of them for 5 years.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2010 6:22 pm

I've played the flute since I was like seven. I haven't played in about three years. And now I am teaching myself guitar, the right way, with notes not tabs.

scream Oi! Don't knock tabs. mad Professionally done ones are amazing. 3nodding Those that one usually finds on the internet... not so much. sweatdrop Don't get me wrong, I was classically trained and like normal notation, but tabs can help (I have a book of songs that has the tabs and the notes for the songs, which is great. Especially since the tablature matches up with the way the notes are on the staff). mrgreen

I play violin (from 5th grade on), guitar (self taught; not that good), and bass guitar (self taught, pretty good).

I've played flute and piccolo for 7 years, and can also play soprano/alto/tenor recorder, Bagpipes/chanter, penny whistle, and a little piano.

This is why I want to move to Colorado. It may not be a frontier, but at least there are wide open spaces. I HATE living in a hot desert city like L.A. And yes, all the nuts are here. Roasting over open asphalt.

i have pinky-bending issues, due to burns, so i have not had much success with my Acoustic Guitar (it;s an Estabon series! biggrin ).
