I was pretty scared. Actually I was more worried about the sound my brakes were making. I thought I had done something to them and was glad I didn't. I was quite surprised for it being our first snow that their were people out there being good drivers and not acting like idoits.

i'd have been terrified! well done for keeping it together!
i think ABS makes that noise when it's activated, so you'll know what to expect if something like that happens again, hey, with a bit of practice you could maybe get a job as a stunt driver ninja

Oooo weeee, Roocee,

If the roads are anything like they are in Pittsburgh, I know you must be a good driver! I won't drive in PughPa, the roads are crazy in the summer! We are supposed to be visiting in December, BabyBipper's grampa is in Pittsburgh.

Keep yourself safe! And I hope you have an automatic transmission!

Please take me with you bipper..... I want to go home soooo bad these days. I miss everyone there. Every single relative I have except my direct family is in Pittsburgh. I haven't been there since my cousins wedding. And that was when Tina was 2. She is now 16 mind you. May I ask what part of Pittsburgh?

He was in Crafton and now he is in West View. I had to look it up, I'm not very familiar with the area, I get a big headache looking at the maps!

I'm used to my roads going straight and intersecting at 90˚ angles, or at least most of them.
Reading a road map of Pittsburgh, I believe, is comparable to looking at a plate of fettuccine.

I'm about 40 miles or so North of Pittsburgh so the roads are worse here than down there. Hey, if you are here long enough visiting, we should plan to get together. I also hate driving around in Pittsburgh. At least the few times I have done it. I'm so afraid of getting lost.

The map and directions image has timed out. neutral

Rue, how scary sliding into traffic like that! I'm thankful I haven't had to drive in the snow yet.. I know I'm going to have to learn to eventually. It hasn't even snowed a FLAKE here yet this season.. everyone is kind of surprised. But you saying so reminded me that I DREAMED last night we had our first snow today. It was beautiful..

i personally am happy that it doesnt snow that often here...maybe once every few years....so i havent ever had to drive in it....thank goodness.... sweatdrop ...bad enough it gets cold...and i am so cold natured...i would rather sit in a nice warm house then play in the snow...but that is just me wink

rue that was scary gonk ...i am glad that you are ok...i would have lost it if that had happen to me. sad ...glad you were able to keep your thoughts while it was happening..massive huggles heart

I used to be happy that I was never able to drive in the snow when we lived back east. But in CA, driving in rain is equally as bad. The way people drive here in the first place is bad enough. But let a little sprinkle of water happen and all you know what breaks loose. I have had the car die on me a couple of times in traffic. Ended up being rear-ended once. But now I own a truck and don't have to beal with that anymore.

yea my friend in LA always tells about how crazy the drivers are in the rain out there. It's very comparable to the first snows here.

but Yay! It all melted away yesterday! It was even almost 70!!! I had the windows open..for a little while anyway.

We had the windows open a bit here too. Now today it's back into the 40's and been pouring down rain all day long.
