Aozora's eyes sharpened a little when she said that, "You're talking about killing Yami. Do you seriously think it's okay to kill half of Kai and take that place?" She looked at Lloyd, "Put him down and leave. Now," She said.
Lloyd quickly obeyed and vanished.

"I'm not saying it's okay," Rajei said. "I just...I can't bear to sit idly by while Kai slowly dies. I'm his familiar, but...I love him, Aozora."

Rajei nodded. She sat down where Aozora had indicated, hoping Aozora wouldn't be too angry with her suggestion.

Aozora was quiet for a while, just looking at Kai's face, "Rajei. I love my brother too. I don't want him to die. But this is the only way to cure him. If I just take out the taint, he's only going to get it again from Yami. I can sever their connection; I can also reestablish it again," She looked at Rajei then, "He will be able to live for at least two years after the separation. That should be enough time to cure Yami. Once that is done, I can revive their connection again and they will both be able to recover."

"He has the same taint as Kai does. If I can cure Kai, I can cure Yami too," Aozora said, "And if you take Yami's place, you would effectively change Kai forever. Is that what you want?"

"I don't want it now, I don't want to do that to him, I want Yami to come back as much as anyone!" Rajei yelled, upset. "But I don't want him to die! It's just as a backup, to keep him alive! My life and Rei's life depend on him living, and I don't want to sacrifice Rei while there's still something to be done! Would you let her, an innocent person, die?!" She was standing and yelling at Aozora by the end. "How dare you accuse me of being that selfish!!"

"You're a Kyuubi-like familliar right? would you like Kai to spend the rest of his life as that; a four-legged animal with no thoughts of his own? I'm confident I can cure him without having something as extreme as that happening. Isn't that enough?" Aozora said, her voice even.

"I never questioned you!" Rajei screamed. "I am glad he's alive! Don't you accuse me of being selfish and ungrateful! He saved my life and I'm indebted to him. I want what's best for him and just because I don't know about these damn bonds doesn't mean you can accuse me of being selfish and ungrateful!" She hadn't noticed Aozora's reddish eyes.

The air in the dimension suddenly became cold and froze everything in place including Kai and Rajei. Everyone but Aozora. But she didn't move. She just stared coldly into Rajei's eyes, now vibrant red, "Just stay there for a little while before I lose my patience with you," She said, "Kai is sick. I have told you I will cure him. I have told you what their issue is. And you still insist on offering to transform my brother forever. You might not be selfish but I am; and I'm not going to allow my brother to go through that. Are we clear or do I have to freeze the air in your lungs too?" She stared at Rajei like she meant it.
