“This places needs more people to laugh,..” Pillow said as she stared up at the sky with a bored expression playing on her face. It was hard being far away from her home in such a dreary village. No one was playing a joke, laughing, or even running through the street with their pants down. The female sat up from the ground before starting to stand up and looked around the area around her. The village of Hidden Snow was cold however making snow angels and having the possible idea of throwing snow balls at some un suspecting idiot could be fun. ’ Hehe! If I can’t have fun then I have to make my own ‘ She thought as a large grin appeared on her face. She then made her way towards the main village, grabbing a few miles of snow here and there and started to make a few snow balls, stuff the ones she already made in to her backpack.
“ What the?!”
When hearing the shocked voice the young women turned around to see a young male standing in front of her with a shocked expression on his face. She could only tilt her head to the side in question as she stared at the male. “Can I help you?”
“I’ve seen a lot of freaks in my day but never one with so much make up. Gezz you just pounded all that white stuff on your face! Must be ugly if you have so much..” The man said while examining the female in front of him.
A pout expression appeared on Pillo’s face as she listened to the man talk. She then brought her left hand up to her fore head, acting dramatic. “And once again my poor village is attached by an idiot with no love or admiration for a good old jest. When will people learn…’

“Well if you want a true jest then touch the clone that’s in front of you,” said a male voice from behind the clown female.
Pillo could only raise an eye brow as she turned around to see the same male behind her. She then shifted to look back at the male in front of her, reaching her hand out to touch him. When she touched him her hand felt cold forcing her to pull away. “What kind of joke is that?” She asked while staring at the cold being, trying to figure it out.
“In many villages we have are own types of clones. You probably learned how to make one of your own chakra however when weather conditions are in play we usually make clones out of the elements instead of just are chakra. Here since were surrownded by snow it’s best to come up with clones make form snow.’ He explained, before reaching out her hand and put it in to a fist. When he did this the clone crumbled in front of them, turning back In to snow.
“I see what ya did there. She said as a small smile played on her face before turning back to face the male behind her. ” So in Sand they have sand clones and in Mist they must have some type of water clones?” she asked, receiving a nod. “ Hmm,… Too bad my village don’t have any wacky thing like that. Rubber chicken clones or booming cigars would be quiet a jest!” She said as her grin grew wider.
“Yes, we should all be so lucky,..” He quickly said under his breath before turning his attention back to the odd dressed female. His eyes scanned over her before shaking his head to the side, thinking. ‘ The kids of this odd generation are losing their mind. Wearing such clothing here… I’m surprised another war hasn’t started yet.’ His attention was then taken away as he saw a hand appear in front of his face.
“Yoo woo,.. Hey mister I want to learn that ice pop clone thingy. I’ll be real nice if ya let me learn it!’ Saying this as she tilted to the side.
Dotou could only roll his eyes at what she said before shrugging his shoulders. “It’s called Yuki Bushin no Jutsu. The good thing about this clone is that is can move very quickly and if it has to attack then it hits hard however the down side of it is that it cannot be used if the area your at is over 80 degree’s. To make a stone clone you have to place your chakra in to the snow around you while thinking of your own appearance. “
“Huh, sounds a bit tricky but nothing a grade A clown like me can’t handle.” She said before placing her hands together while sticking out her tongue. Her chakra was the color of orange, moving down from her stomach, to her legs, feet and finally down in to the snow. The chakra started to make the snow rise up and form in to a hard object, slowly appearing human. It took a few moments before a clone of her stood there in a white form.
“Good now just concentrate on giving it color.”
Pillo nodded her head yes before she took a large breath and thought about the colors she was wearing. As this happened the snow clone started to have colors appear on it. First the skin color, fabric color to the clothing and finally the makeup coloring. Pillo finally opened her eyes, starting at the clone of herself. She then waved her hand at it and watched as it waved it’s hand back at her. “So cool!” She yelled before grabbing the clone, breaking it in half in a hug. ”Whoops…”

 ╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxx“Oh, sis… what’s this fluffy white stuff?” Hifumi stares at the docks to the village she decided to come to as Joey leaps off of the boat and begins playing in the snow. “It’s cold but it feels so soft. It’s not like shaved ice, it’s really fluffy,” the boy continues to say in bliss. That was right. Joey hadn’t seen snow before. This was his first time being in a place where it snowed enough for him to play in the snow. But this wasn’t Hifumi’s. She’d been here before and remembered how warm it seemed but how cold it was. And Joey brown shorts that go down to his knees and little army green short-sleeved t-shirt weren’t going to cut out. “Hey sis, it feels nice between your toes too~!” The boy wiggles his toes in the snow happily as the Ichtaca girl stares at him a little worried. She had no change of clothes for him or herself. They would either have to leave or figure out where the nearest town is. But the snow makes things confusing. As soon as Hifumi takes a step off of the boat to fetch the boy the boat disappears from view. “Huh?” Joey looks at where the boat had been and then at Hifumi as she stares out into the blur of white.
xxxxShe sure had a knack for getting into trouble. But now she couldn’t afford to drag the innocent life of Joey into it. “We need to get to the nearest village, Joey. Put your shoes back on and stay away from the snow. We can’t afford to get cold.” The boy nods and quickly does as his sister instructs. He puts on his thick white socks, the warmers things he wears, and his brown loafers. He gets up off of the ground and smiles at his sister. She sighs a little and begins to dust the snow off of him. He hugs her as she does and she smiles sweetly. She separates from him and adjusts the paperboy hat atop his head. At least that’s what he called it. His dark orange hair sticks out all over the place from beneath cap, which makes him look adorable when he gives her a big cheesy smile. He shows off his two missing front teeth and then begins running off in one direction. “Hold on, take my hand Joey. Don’t go running off.”
xxxx“There’s a village right over there. You can’t see it, sis?” What? Hifumi looks in the direction the boy is running and can’t see anything. Is it her eyes or his eyes that are acting funny? He walks back over to stand beside her and raises his small hand. She takes his tiny one in hers and they quickly make their way through the light blizzard.
xxxx“Achoo!” After snooping up something, the bundle of covers and coats with only black eyes showing at its center growls. “Why the hell are we here again? I’m supposed to be eating you guys’ hearts, remember? Don’t try and get me to forget.” Gauo bursts out of the blankets and all of the girls in the room begin to scream. The door to the small cottage flies open and a large man shoves his way inside. He notices that Gauo, having gone from his demon form without pants on to his human form amidst the cover of blankets, is completely nude. “Oh s**t!” He retreats back under the blankets only for the huge man to grab him by the head with one hand. The demon takes its demonic form, realizing that he popped out naked, but that doesn’t help him any. The big man tosses him outside with ease and he rolls along until trapped in a snowball. “Don’t just leave me out here! I’m still getting use to the whole transformation thing. Come on, old man. It’s freezing out here to me.”
xxxx“Maybe it’ll freeze some sense into you,” the deep but very loud voice of the man only makes his words even harsher. He crouches down and begins talking to the girls that hadn’t seen much but could only imagine. “There, there. That dumb guy is outside and he’ll definitely learn his lesson this time. I’m going to go and fetch some more fire word for the fire. Be sure to be on guard. There’s a war going on, you know.” The large man, barely fitting in the room with twelve-foot ceilings, squeezes through the garage-sized door and disappears. The girls glower at Gauo outside who just stays quiet. A blonde haired boy with red eyes crosses over to the door and shuts it with a smirk.
xxxx“That guy. I do always wonder why he hasn’t just killed us yet. I mean, he was pretty pissed off when we saw him again in Japan.” Hikaru takes a seat near the fire beside the cluster of girls. There’s Relula in the center, Uli in between the Hyuuga girl and Hikaru, and another girl on the dark gray haired girl’s other side. “Hm. I forget what he was mad about though. Do you remember Aoi?” The new girl to the group shakes her head slowly. Her gray looking but actually a shade of light blue eyes shift from Hikaru to the dark blue haired boy laying so close to the fire she thought he might just catch on fire. Sweat glides along the deep groove of his lower back, which the girl watches slowly. She finally shakes her head back and forth. Her inch long choppy hair spikes out all over her head. Its color is silver and when the light hits it enough to cast a shadow, her hairs color seems to match her eyes a little. “Cairo, how long are you going to sulk?”
xxxxThe body nearest the fire rolls onto its back. The boy with green goo eyed teen stares up at the straw covered ceiling before he looks into the fire again. “For some reason… I just feel lost. I’m not sulking, I don’t think. I just feel like I’m supposed to be finding her.” Aoi’s eyes grow large as Hikaru stares at Cairo in confusion. His words catch up with him and he sits up. He stares at the space in front of him before shaking a thought from his head. “Her? I don’t know why I said that. I feel like I’m supposed to be looking for something, not someone. My head’s all clouded so I said something I shouldn’t have. Didn’t mean to come off weird, Hikaru.” The boy stands from his place on the floor and makes his way to the door. He shoves his fists into his jean pockets and then steps out and into the blizzard brewing outside. Once he shuts the door behind him, Aoi frowns at it. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,139

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxx“Hey, Cairo, man. Don’t let me freeze,” the demon calls out as the half naked boy looks at him. Cairo focuses chakra into his fingertip and then brings each tip together. It creates a small orb of black fire as the boy comes to rest in front of the trapped man. He flicks the flame into Gauo’s mouth and the monster can feel the warmth radiating inside of him. “Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. Gihi. Nice going. Where you off too? With this I can wander the land no problem.” The demon bursts free of the sphere of snow and stands beside Cairo. In a normal situation, someone would be burned alive from the inside out from that fire, but Gauo seemed to be fairing fine from that small amount. When he notices the black flame-wielding boy begin wandering off, he chases after him until walking along beside him. The farther they go, the less they see. The two of them could hardly see the cabin as they grow farther away.
xxxx“I feel like I should be heading this way. That cabin… all I can feel is this overwhelming sensation that I’m living a lie. I don’t understand it completely, but something’s missing in our group. There use to be someone else instead of just Hikaru, Uli, Relula, Oriyah, Aoi, you and me. Someone else…” Gauo didn’t get a word coming out of Cairo’s mouth. Who else would have been banded with the dysfunctional group?
xxxx“Just a little farther th-this way,” Joey stutters as he continues to shiver roughly. Hifumi’s body had also gotten to a point where she began to shiver. She stops walking and grabs up Joey. She holds him close to her and begins walking. The boy wasn’t expecting it but accepted her carrying him all the same. He cuddles into her and tries to focus on the lights up ahead. Hifumi had never had a thing called family until being found by mother and Joey. So she didn’t know the kind of bonds that come from such a thing. When her mother died, even though she lied to them both, Hifumi wasn’t angry about it. Sometimes a lie is needed when it comes to someone whose parents were murder when they were an infant and a girl who couldn’t even remember her own name. This bond would push her forward. Even though her skin was beginning to redden, she would continue to trek the snow to reach a place of refuge. It would only be a little farther.
xxxx“Cairo, we should turn back, your fire is starting to wear off,” Gauo complains as the two come over a small hill. The demon notices the boy traveling with him freeze, so he does to. Gauo looks in the direction that Cairo is staring and notices a young girl struggling in the snow. She seems to be cradling a small boy in her arms that appears to be unconscious. “Hifumi! What are you doing out here in the cold? It’s a wonder you didn’t get lost stranger!” Cairo catches the name that Gauo calls out but the demon doesn’t seem to notice. The Feudal Japan native takes to the air and licks his lips. She would be a nice little popsicle to snack on. He flies towards them only for Cairo to flicker over to them first. The girl collapses into the warm arms of the boy as Guao lands beside them. “What the hell? I’m never going to get a decent meal around you lot. You gonna save her?” Cairo lifts the girl into his arms and makes his way back to where they had come from.
xxxxThe door of the cabin flies open, the huge door flinging inward and locking into place. Cairo steps inside quickly and sets down the girl in his arms by the fire along with the small boy she had been carrying. Aoi stares wide eyed, as do Relula and Uli. Hikaru gets really close to the girl and smiles. “She sure is beautiful. With her cheeks all red like that it makes her look like she’s blushing.” The boy removes his thick wool black sweater and drapes it over the female. He sits in his tank top and looks them over with his eyes. Cairo allows a small coating of black flames to envelop his hand and begins gliding it along the girl’s body and then the boy’s without physically touching them. Gauo storms in and shuts the door behind him. He takes a seat near Hikaru as Oriyah wags her tail slowly as she rests in between the two. “So you get into a moody state, go for a walk, and come back with a girl and kid? Cairo, you do the oddest things.”
xxxx“I wonder where she came from. Where was she going? It was like she was headed towards us. You think it was just a coincidence?” Aoi scowls angrily as Relula crawls over to the little boy. She looks at the boys smiling face and tilts her head.
xxxx“J-Joey… don’t worry… I’ll…” Hearing the girl’s murmuring, everyone draws a little closer to her aside from Aoi. “I’ll save us…” The girl then falls silent and continues to rest. Could the little boy’s name be Joey? The silver haired girl watch things unfold with a less than pleased expression. She didn’t like how things were turning out. At this rate, they would all begin to remember that flat chested idealist. She would have to deal with the situation the same as the day she came upon the fighting group in Hidden Twilight. It was around the time where Gauo went berserk and seemed to be trying to obliterate the group as they sailed along in the sea. She notices Cairo trying to touch Hifumi’s face with a free hand but he soon pulls back his hand. This was really going to be a bad thing. It would seem that she would need to kill Hifumi here and now. No time to watch her or infiltrate her dreams. It was time for the girl to completely destroy her. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,018

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxEvery time someone being near her foils chance that the girl gets to kill Hifumi in her sleep. She hated how they all seemed so fascinated by her outer beauty. Anyone could use cosmetics and become gorgeous. She had little going for her beyond that. She was weak, had a lacking body, and was fanatically devoted to the Goddess who she claims to be herself. She was a pathetic creature to have ever been unleashed on the world. And worse off… Aoi watches behind a corner as Cairo stands gazing into the fire. On occasions he would look down at the beautiful girl resting near the fire. He would also crouch down and just stare at her minute after minute. Just the sight of him watching over her sent waves of rage through the young girls body. Before she knows it, it’s morning and everyone is wandering around the cottage. She creeps out of the closet that she’d designated as her room and steps over to Hifumi on the floor. With everyone busy with whatever they are doing, the young girl kicks the Ichtaca girl in the side hard. Hifumi groans and rolls onto her other side as all of the commotion in the room stops.
xxxxAoi turns around to see eyes staring at her in shock. She wasn’t more than fourteen years old and stood to be a few feet shorter than Relula who was considered average height. She’s wearing a very tight white suit that fits her small frame like a glove. She had a slightly more prominent chest area than Hifumi but her breast weren’t very large. As she takes a step away from the girl behind her, the feet covering of her suit squeaks a little. “What was that for, Aoi? Why’d you kick that girl like that? That’s not like you,” Uli lectures as she places her hands on her hips. Everyone seems to stare in surprise suddenly. Aoi turns around to look at Hifumi staring her in the eyes with a sly smirk on her face. What was that about? Was she onto her? Maybe that was how she woke up? Or perhaps she was going to strike her?
xxxx“That hurt little girl. Your friends sure haven’t taught you any kind of manners. Hurting people just for the sheer pleasure of hurting them is bad. You will do well to remember that in the future.” A wave of fear rocks up the girl as she wonders over whether Hifumi would rat her out or not. No. The Ichtaca girl had no means of knowing she had done anything beyond kick her. “I once believed that what’s one persons trash is another man’s treasure. But what if that man didn’t intend to throw the treasures away and someone took them anyway? What of the man who knew he had treasures and cherished them but the other man steals them away?” The hazel-eyed girl seemed to be onto something. She was only playing around. Aoi frowns at the brunette as she goes on, “What do you think about that, little girl? Oh, how rude of me. Allow me to introduce myself.” This is it. “My name is Mi and the boy resting near the fire is my brother Joey. Thank you for saving us…?”
xxxxCairo raises his hand and then scratches the back of his head. Hifumi notices he has returned his hair to the messy way it was before he met her. He also didn’t seem to be chewing on a sucker stick as he often did in times of calm. Had she given him that habit? “I saved you and Gauo helped me, sort of. He was planning to eat you but I convinced him to lie off. Mi, my name is Cairo. Uh, Cairo Hillmar is my full name. I was once told that it’s pretty much rude not to introduce myself before speaking.” She had her impression in pretty deep with Cairo. Even though he couldn’t remember her, he was talking about what she told him the first day they met. She smiles happily at him and he begins to blush madly. He fidgets with his black t-shirt and then the white long sleeves of his thermal shirt. Gauo lingers near the door but he looks the same as when she first saw her, only in human form. His leather pants and boots, and that look of hunger in his eye.
xxxx“Thank you Cairo for saving my brother and I. I owe you one,” she says quietly as she shifts around until crouched beside Joey. She touches a hand to the boy head before whispering, “It’s time to wake up, Joey. We’re safe now. And if they’ll allow us, maybe we can borrow some clothes and go play in the snow. How’s that sound?”
xxxx“It sounds great,” Joey hollers sitting right up. Surprised those in the room jolt a little. The boy begins laughing as the girl beside him wipes a tear from his eye. He looks her in the eyes apologetically and she just touches a finger to his nose. “I know you said not to cry anymore. But mom was in my dream. She said that she was sad to leave but she’s watching us. Did you see her too, sis?” Hifumi nods slowly to the boy as he gets to his feet. He looks around him to see new people and slaps a hand against his chest. “My name is Joey and I like snow. Mi is my sister and I will protect her so you don’t have to worry.” The small boy begins running around the room and eyeing the things around him as Hifumi stands. They all give each other casual introductions before Hikaru tries to find something for the young boy Joey to wear.
xxxx“Aoi, is it? Would you mind coming with Joey and me when we go outside? I want to talk to you a little more. I’m curious about you.” Hifumi smiles with her eyes though still carrying that bored expression of hers. Aoi hated her so much. She was so darn smug and seemed to be playing along. What did she have planned? How much about everything did she know? Was that boy really her brother or someone she brainwashed? She would find out from Hifumi herself or from her body. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,057

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxJoey trips and falls in the snow, trying to run in the sagging pair of shorts that Relula had offered for him to wear. He tries to get up but manages to lose a mitten, his earmuffs, and a boot on the way up. He sits down and fixes his clothes back before returning to running through the snow. He falls yet again as Hifumi watches him go. “As you already may have guessed, if you’re as smart as you play yourself out to be, he is not my blood brother. I don’t know if I have any siblings since my parents abandoned me at a church very young.” Aoi goes boo hoo under her breath and Hifumi ignores it. She was being childish. “He’s a boy that I came across during my time away from the people that you’ve apparently altered the memories of. So are you an Ichazuki? Someone else could probably do the same but I can see that your pupils are strange and you have moons dangling from your clothing. Standing close to you now, I can easily see it. Sitting close to you before, I could easily see your pupils. So?”
xxxxThis girl was smarter than Aoi first assumed. But she wasn’t far off when it came to Hifumi’s flat chest. Her pancakes, made to look a tad larger by a padded bra, were little to nothing. But that wasn’t the thing to focus on now. “I am of the Ichazuki clan. Your friends don’t remember you and never will again. I’m surprised you survived Uli’s attack on you. I’ve seen her handy work first hand and she’s ruthless. She totally blew that demon into near coma, after all.” Hifumi seems to grow tense and Aoi wonders if she remembered that. “I don’t care about your life or his, all I care about is killing you and setting those under your spell free. You Genjutsu using monster! You may fool some but you can’t fool all with your charms. You talk about being a Goddess and yet you only look like one with your complexion and flashy words.” This rings a bell.
xxxx“First off, I’ll give you a little advice. They may not remember me, but they all followed me of their own accord. If I could get them to follow me before then what’s the difference this time? Let’s have ourselves a little game with lives. I won’t do any convincing to Cairo and the others, I will let them come to me and remember me. I can assure you that your mind games won’t work for long. And yes, I lack a few alluring factors to myself. I’m not busty and don’t have a nice behind, but I never wanted to be this perfect little thing. I am little more than a vessel. And once I become Goddess, looks won’t matter. The Goddess isn’t an entity to make people feel attracted or lured, she is the savior of the world. She will create a perfect world even if she isn’t outwardly perfect herself. So you can stop trying to break me like in my dream. I won’t lose to someone like you.”
xxxxAoi growls and begins to storm off when she turns to point at Hifumi. “You’ll regret it when they all continue to forget you ever existed!” She disappears into the background as Hifumi watches Joey running around happily. His rosy cheeks bring out the gleam of his glassy eyes even from the great distance between her and him. The girl pulls down on her pink snowcap that matches her turtleneck sweater. She then pulls the sleeves of her top over her wrists before crossing her arms across her stomach. She’s wearing a pair of black jeans and has on furry flat bottomed snow boots on her feet. She goes back to what Aoi said about the explosions and Gauo. Had Uli really attacked her or was she just fighting the demon? She couldn’t remember those gaps in her memory. She wondered if she ever would. And she couldn’t ask them because they probably didn’t even remember.
xxxx“Mi,” a familiar voice calls as the girl turns her head. She stares at Cairo as he makes his way over to her slowly. She hears a loud ‘graah’ noise and turns around to see Hikaru chasing after Joey. When the boy trips and falls, Hikaru stops and waits for him to get up. The young boy laughs before getting to his feet and running off again. They continue doing this as Hifumi watches with Cairo. “I thought you liked the snow. Why aren’t you playing in it too?” She hadn’t told him that recently. She turns to look at him as he looks at her bashfully. She wanted to talk to him like old times. She wanted to ask him questions and see how he would react. She wanted to do that to all of them. It was like time had turned backward and they could do things over again. She could be less touchy and respect herself more, as Cairo had told her before all of this madness.
xxxx“I’d rather watch him play. He and I can’t stay here for too long so we’re going to head out in about a week. We’re use to warmer climates and here he might catch a cold. I’m not physically strong either, but I can stand the cold a little better than his tiny body. I also want to explore the world with him by my side.” The boy whose clan and home village are still unknown, listens to the girl and he feels a bit sad. He wouldn’t ask her to stay and he wouldn’t follow her, but he didn’t want her to disappear. Something about her just fit with them. “I’d like to have Joey be around all of you for a while longer though. Maybe then the pain of losing our mother will fade.”
xxxx“Your mother. He mentioned her before. When did she pass away?” The boy asks as the girl clutches her elbows tightly. It hadn’t been that long ago and not much time passed between the time she met her mother. But that small amount of time was enough to stir up the longing of having family. She could hide it all she wanted, but she did long for a family. Maybe that was why she got attached so quickly?
xxxx“Two days before we arrived here.” Cairo’s eyes open a little wider in surprise. “I’m not sure how much time has passed since then but we were prepared for the worst. Mom was sick for the longest time. She was weak of body but strong of heart. It was painful to watch her die, but I’m glad I was there with her through it all. She seemed to not have any regrets upon dying. She was at peace.” ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,147

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxHifumi notices Joey fall and all of his clothes fall off. He whimpers a little so she takes off down the hill towards him. She asks if he’s all right as Hikaru apologizes. Cairo just watches them all with sorrowful eyes. “Hifumi, you sure do look after him like a big sister should.” Hifumi stares at Hikaru as she puts on Joey’s boots. The smaller boy looks at the older one with confused, glassy, silver eyes.
xxxx“Who’s Hifumi? My sis’s name is sis or Mi, not Hifumi.” The boy with spiky blond hair blinks a few times. He didn’t know why he called her by that name. He figured she just looked like a Hifumi. He sits down in the snow and looks at the Ichtaca girl.
xxxx“I dunno. She looks like a Hifumi. I’ve named animals before, so I tend to go around naming everything. I didn’t mean to call her Hifumi. I’ll call her Mi from now on.” He seems to sniff the air a little before going on. “You sure do smell familiar. Oriyah seems to think so too.” The two remain silent a while as Hifumi continues to try and work on Joey’s clothes. “You know us, don’t you? I can tell that there’s something off about the others in our group. And it all seems like it has to do with you. Then there’s the fact that you were talking to Aoi about something and she looked troubled. Are you a friend, or are you a foe?” The girl giggles lightly as Joey smiles at her. He liked when she giggled, though she was holding back. He squirms from under her and begins running around in the snow as Hifumi stands from her place in the snow.
xxxx“She and I are playing a game together. I can’t ruin it. So if you want to know things then you just have to take the right path in the game. I’m an observer, so I can’t tell you anything beyond that. But I will inform you that your eyes are a valuable asset. Don’t set your sights on the wrong thing.” She walks away from the boy as he stares after her. What did she mean? Everything she says is full of riddles. He wondered if it was wise to keep her around. But the story he overheard her tell Cairo just seemed to make him think otherwise. Or rather, it made him want to think otherwise.
xxxxWhen everyone is back inside, aside from Joey and Hifumi, Hikaru is distant from the others. “There’s something about that girl that’s weird. We all seem to be reacting to her in some way. Not to mention she said something about a game that she couldn’t tell me about. She seems too dangerous to keep around,” the boy spills which makes Aoi a bit angry. She shouldn’t be saying anything about the game. Then again, they didn’t really have any set rules. They just had an end result to reach and no real time limit.
xxxx“What’s it matter? She and her brother are going to be leaving in a week anyway. We’ll just be careful around her and try and dig deeper to see who she is and why she’s making us react this way.” Cairo crosses his arms over his chest as he stands beside Relula. Aoi stands on his other side, inching a little closer to him every so often. He notices her doing this and looks down at her. “What’s up Aoi? You’ve been acting kind of weird lately.”
xxxx“I’m just a little scared, Cairo. She came out of nowhere and claims to be the brother of a boy that looks nothing like her. And now Hikaru is saying all of this stuff. She might be trying to eat us like Gauo does.” Gauo, feeling insulted snorts. He’d stopped trying to eat them, for the time being, he was more interested in eating the girl instead.
xxxx“If she scares you so much then why don’t you let me eat her? I’ve been really wanting to sink my teeth into her. She smells so good and looks so soft. She’d taste and feel good going down.” The demon laughs loudly as Relula and Uli shake their heads. He was being creeping again. They might have to tell the old man to deal with him again. Where was he anyway?
xxxx“I don’t think we should just say all of these things and try to get Gauo to eat her without trying to sort things out first. Even if she’s dangerous, taking a life is wrong. I’m going to try and get to know her. Will you come with me, Uli?” Usually nods slowly, more on Hikaru’s side than the Hyuuga’s. She would try and find out information to either prove Hikaru right or give him some piece of mind. Oriyah growls annoyed as Hikaru does the same. Everyone seemed to be tense and few trusted Hifumi wholeheartedly. Aoi had the advantage and she was going to win this little game.
xxxx“Aoi, you can stick close to me if that’ll make you feel better. I guess I don’t mind,” Cairo finally says as he drapes his arm over the young girls shoulder. Her face flushes red as the narrowed eyed male with dark blue hair goes on. “I would rather the girls try and get to know Mi. If her story about her mother’s death two days ago is true, it would be a horrible thing for us to be against her. Besides, we have to consider Joey too. He doesn’t seem deserve to be hurt because we can’t seem to trust someone he does.” The group nod as Gauo pouts. He wanted to eat her. No matter. He would just go and try to eat her without their permission. When the girls meet, he will go as their guard. And the moment that they leave Hifumi and he’s alone with her, he’d take his chance to eat her.
xxxx“Gihi,” he whispers as he looks at the girls. “If she turns out to be a bad girl then I’ll just gobble her up. So you girls are going to take me with you.” The girls go ‘eh’ and try to refuse but the demon already has it set in his mind. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,051

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxHifumi opens the door of the cottage with the help of Joey. They struggle but towards the end it becomes easy. They look at each other and release the door as it is eased farther until clicking into place. The two glance back and stare wide-eyed at the large man glaring down at them. He’s wearing a large black cloak leather coat with beige frill around the hems. On his legs are brown trousers stuffed into glossy black boots. Under one arm he lugs along about a dozen or so logs. The man, large both in height and weight, steps farther into the room and sets down his load. He then turns to Hifumi and Joey only for the small dark orange haired to say, “Boy you’re a big one aren’t you?” The large man strikes the boy over the head making him cry. Hifumi picks up her brother and cradles him, looking as if she is holding him defensively.
xxxx“Teach your little brat a lesson on manners, woman. Having kids so young and not even knowing how to raise them.” Aoi snickers as the Ichtaca girl narrows her eyes ever so slightly. “You want me to hit you too? I don’t put females or males on separate shelves. Tell me who you are, where you came from, why you’re here, and when you’re leaving,” the large man demands. His face is covered by a ski mask and then only thing that can be seen are his sapphire colored eyes. Hifumi reluctantly clears her throat after trying to cease her brothers crying.
xxxx“He is just a boy. He has manners, but he hasn’t had much experience with people outside of our household. I apologize for his rudeness. However, striking a small child is not right. Rather than learn their lesson they may become mentally scarred. Please keep that in mind when dealing with my brother Joey.” She sets the small boy down who cowers her. She cross her arms over her stomach and relaxes herself. She had to think about everything carefully. She wasn’t going to lie but she wasn’t going to spoil the game with too many details. “You may refer to me and Mi and I came here from Hidden Grass. I came here because something drew me to this place. I wish to seek refuge here for the following week and then we will both leave and get out of your hair.” She thinks a moment before going on. “And just to give you some insight. It is polite to give your name in a conversation with someone you don’t know.”
xxxx“S’at so?” The large man lowers his massive head down and looks the girl in the eyes. She nods coolly before stepping before stepping around the man and leading Joey to the fire. The boy becomes chipper when he notice Oriyah awake and runs over to her. Her hair stands on end and she barks but the boy just goes on to snatch her into a hug. He cries doggy over and over and nuzzles into the wolf as Hikaru fights back the urge to smile. It had been a long time since the dog had been embraced in such a way, despite her intimidating appearance, so she relaxes and let’s the boy pet her, hug her, and play with her fur. Hifumi keeps her back to the man a moment before looking at him again. “As long as you don’t cause any trouble, you can stay here. Make sure you’re out by the time you said or you’re gonna get a strike across the head—.”
xxxx“You won’t hit sister. My name is Joey and I will protect big sis. So if you want to hit someone then it’s gonna be me… just me,” the boy cries out as it pets Oriyah. The ninja dog whimpers lightly before licking the boy’s cheek. He manages a smile again and begins hugging her neck. The large man chuckles before shutting the door leading out of the cabin. He sits inside and sighs, a bit tired from gathering wood.
xxxx“You’ve been gone a long time, Yene sir.” The man looks over at Relula who seems to be tosses wood into the fire with the help of Cairo. He nods his large head before he drifts off to sleep. The Hyuuga smiles a little before turning her attention to Hifumi. “So what clan are you from? My name is Relula Hyuuga, in case you forgot. I come from the same village as Uli Jibaku Nave and Hikaru Inzuka Lezar.” She walks over to Hifumi and stands next to Uli who also approaches her. Cairo tends to putting away the wood as Hifumi stares at the girls in front of her. It was so nostalgic, seeing them approach her together.
xxxx“I’m from the Ichtaca clan,” the girl finally replies as Relula makes an ‘o’ shape with her mouth. Uli snorts a little as she fiddles with her red hair tucked into a side ponytail.
xxxx“You mean that clan from Mirage Island? They come off as a little dull seeming to me. But that’s probably just to keep people away. Mi, what’s it like there?” As opposed to last time, Uli doesn’t come out and call her home boring. She explains that it comes off that way and even puts her name in her statement. Moreover, she shows that she is aware that the Ichtaca clan is from Mirage Island. Things definitely seemed the same as before only with each of them remembering bits and pieces from back then.
xxxx“Mirage Island is my home village, but I left a long time ago. I declared myself a Missing-Nin and left the village after dropping out of the Academy.” The two girls stare at Hifumi as she says this. She’d dropped out of the Academy? She was a rouge ninja? At her strength? They couldn’t believe it.
xxxx“Why?” Hikaru asks looking at the three of them. He realizes that he’d spoken allowed and lowers his head a little. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,005

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxHifumi thinks about things carefully before just letting her words flow. “Well I left the school because I had no reason to be there anymore. I had come there feeling drawn to that place, and when I made a few friends the draw was gone. So I left.” She stares Hikaru in the eyes as she goes on. “With my home, they treated me like an outside, so why stay there? Every since I was a small girl, they left me to take care of myself. No one, not even my family, was there for me. After I proclaimed I was a missing ninja they placed a curse on me. It was kind of ironic. Even though the seal was lifted, it haunted me long afterward.” She doesn’t show any sign of being sad and keeps the same expression on her face. Hikaru urges her to go on with his eyes and she shrugs.
xxxx“I don’t get it. I though Joey was your brother? And what about your dead mother?” Hifumi shakes her head and walks towards the area where she would sleep tonight after Uli’s question to her. “If you don’t answer then you look suspicious,” the girl pressures.
xxxx“I’m already suspicious to you. That’s why the two of you approached me. I’m not going to tell you all anything else. The lines between ruining the game and talking to you are very thin. Telling you more about my time with Joey and mother would only ruin it. Isn’t that right, Aoi?” Cairo slams down a bit of wood and catches everyone’s attention except the soundly sleeping Yene.
xxxx“I don’t want to be a part of any game. You shouldn’t play games with people’s lives. It’s not funny for us to wonder about things and you hide it. I don’t know what game you’re playing or if Aoi really is a part of it. But I do know that if you want to stay here comfortably then you need to throw this game out of the window,” Cairo snaps as Hifumi keeps her back from him. He was scolding her like before. And just like before she didn’t like it. But she wasn’t going to lose her cool again.
xxxx“What does comfortably mean to you, Cairo? Are you going to ignore me? If I go out to play with Joey, you’re not going to watch. When I go to sleep tonight, you aren’t going to stare at me?” The boy winces. He had no idea she knew he did some of those things. “It’s not like this would be the first time that someone did ‘or else to me’. And it definitely won’t be the last time. You can try and beat me down with your words all you want, but I’m not afraid of a little beating. Ignore me, refuse to help me, hate me. Do whatever you want. I’m not pulling any strings. I don’t have the physical strength to do anything, and that includes toying with people’s lives.” The girl feels his hot hands and her arms and he turns her around quickly. Joey cries out but Cairo doesn’t pay him any mind.
xxxx“All you are is talk. You’re a pretty face and talk. You say all of these things and yet you continue on. Don’t you care about the people you lead along?” Hifumi just lowers her head as Joey runs over to Cairo and bites him on the leg. He cries out and hops around as the small boy clings onto him. He bites down harder as the Ichtaca girl reaches out to grab him. The child loses his grip and flies off and into Aoi. Aoi hits her head against the wall and slumps to the ground. She touches a hand to her head as Joey tries to say sorry.
xxxx“In Hidden Twilight… I thought the same thing you said. I was told the same thing you said in my dreams. And Aoi has mentioned that on occasions. All I am is a pretty face. I have little going for me aside from that and the way I use my words. I don’t deny that. And I know that I may be causing you all harm in not telling you all everything, but you all are just as much to blame. You let someone rule over your minds and then you go and cause problems for Joey because you can’t tell what is wrong and what is right.” The girl tears her hat from her head and throws it onto the ground. “Joey isn’t my blood brother. A woman I only know by as mother found me floating in the water around her village and took me in. Joey, when he was a baby, was left for dead after his parents were killed. She took him in too. Even when mother told me that I wasn’t her blood daughter and Joey wasn’t her son or my brother, I still considered them family.”
xxxxThe girl gets really close but she doesn’t cry. Joey groans as Aoi shakes her head a little. She looks at Hifumi and then around at the faces around her. There she goes, telling a sob story. She was going to win them over by pulling on heartstrings. Stupid Hifumi. “So there’s your answer. Don’t bother me about anything again. Until the day that you ask me that question, I never want to come in close contact with any of you.” She storms over to Aoi and lifts up Joey into her arms. He’s a bit dizzy from the spinning so he missed a lot of what was said. She carries him over to her mat on the floor and sets him down. She lays close beside him and stares at the wall across from her. She was beginning to think that she would never get back what she lost. She would have to cut her losses and just leave sooner than she had anticipated. After all, this wasn’t the best environment to have Joey around. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,005

Hifumi doesn’t make any contact with anyone but Joey and maybe Yene to give him a status report on when they’ll be leaving. Hifumi had long stopped wearing the clothes that she had been lent and tends to making her own alterations to her sundress and hat. She would cut Joey’s time out in the snow so she would have time to work on her dress and watch him. But as the day came closer where she would be leaving, the two spend longer days out and in the snow. “Joey, if you didn’t have me to believe in, who would you believe in? Do you believe in God?” Gauo overhears Hifumi ask the little boy as the two build a snowman together.
xxxx“There’s no one else that I believe in other than sister. And maybe father…” The boy grows silent suddenly so the demon gets a better angle to watch the two. He remains very quiet and still as Cairo creeps up before him. He was going to teach the demon to attack him while his back was turned when they were hunting game before. But when he sees what Gauo is looking at he decides to turn around. He didn’t want to see her, of all people.
xxxx“Joey, father isn’t…” Hifumi trails off. She couldn’t bring herself to crush the little boys heart. But the man they call father didn’t exist. And he was no father of theirs anyway. “Okay. I’ll leave it at that.”
xxxx“Who do you believe in sis? Do you believe in God?” Cairo stops. Something about that question made him freeze in his place.
xxxx“No,” the girl says quietly. The boy stare at her as she looks up at the sky, “I don’t believe in God. I’m going to tell you a secret that you can’t tell anyone but me, okay?” The little boy nods quickly, ready for a good story. “I know about the guys that you play with. Cairo doesn’t believe in God, but in man.” The dark blue haired boy crouches down beside the stunned Gauo and listens carefully. “He once told me that humans created other humans and control their own destiny’s. He said that he didn’t know the details of how everything began, but that was what he believed. Hikaru, you’d think he believes in wolves, right?” Joey nods as he rocks back and forth in the fetal position on the ground. Beside him Hifumi uses her hands as she speaks. Her finger separate and come together. Her hands rise and fall as he head follows after them. She turns her head to Joey when she talks too. And at those moments her bored stare shows a hint of amusement.
xxxx“Nu uh. Hikaru knows what he is supposed to believe in but hasn’t found anything to believe in that he truly believes in. I thought he was being halfhearted like Cairo, but he just didn’t find the right thing to believe in. Relula believes in someone, but she believes most in a perfect world. She wants a world that doesn’t have pain or sorrow. In her world, everyday would be a good day. I guess that’s why she’s so sweet.” Joey smiles and turns his head to look at her as she continues. “Gauo once told me, when he tried to eat me a long time ago, that he believed in the Devil. He didn’t believe that humans were on the world for anything more than entertainment. It sort of makes sense with all the bad things in the world, right? And how everyday is different from the last?”
xxxxGauo doesn’t remember telling her anything. The first time he saw her was here in this village. How did she know about any of that? This was getting really weird. “But you asked me what I believe in, right? I believe in a Goddess, not a God. This Goddess is trapped in the body of a young girl that can’t do anything. All she does is hide behind other people and rely on their power. But when the day comes where her life ends,” the girl goes on to say as Joey’s eyebrows quiver, “she will be reborn as the Goddess of a new world. This world would be a perfect world like Relula wishes for. This world will take away all the darkness and evil it once had and recreate it into the imagine of those they wronged with the Goddess’s power.” She seems to smile at her words as Joey watches her. He hadn’t seen her smile like this before. Her eyes were distant and it was as if she was trying to melt the snow with her warmth.
xxxx“That’s a really nice story, sis. If I couldn’t believe in you or father then I’d believe in the Goddess. I bet she’s awfully pretty too.” Hifumi giggles and places a hand atop of the boy’s head. Watching from the cover of snow covered bushes; Cairo and Gauo suddenly realize who Mi is. Mi isn’t just some strange girl. They weren’t all just strangers. She’d gathered them together long ago and had been traveling with them until a misunderstanding tore them all apart. How could they have forgotten about her? Cairo feels a twinge of pain in his chest as he remembers his last words to her before she disappeared last. He’d misjudged her, just like that night in the cabin. He didn’t pay attention to her at all. She’d even mentioned in her vague responses to their questions that they were her friends. They weren’t really acting like any friends.
xxxx“Remember to keep it a secret, Joey. If they find out all of that then I might lose the game. Then they’ll be taken away from me again. I’m going to win them back and end this stupid game of Aoi’s. She tried to replace me, but I’m not going to quit like before. If Aoi is going to test my faith in them then I’m going to face this all head on. Don’t you think that’s the best thing to do, little brother?” The boy nods over and over quickly as they stand from their place on the ground. “In that case, we’d better finish up with this snowman. We have to get ready to leave tomorrow.” ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,060

╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ xxxxThe two males realize the situation after their memories have finally returned to them. They needed to let the others know what all has been going on. They flicker away as the two siblings put another piece onto the snowman. Back at the cabin, Gauo lands in front of the large down and sets down Cairo beside him. He kicks the door open and it slams into place. The demon creeps through the door in his full demon form and sets his sights on Aoi. He walks towards her quickly only for Hikaru to block his path. “Get out of my way, wolf breath, I’m going to tear that girl apart with my fangs and devour her.” What was with Gauo all of the sudden? The demon slams his head into Hikaru’s and invokes the rage of Uli. The fiery girl readies to attack when Cairo comes up behind her and covers her eyes. She struggles to wrestle free as the Inuzuka Uchiha mix stumbles backward. Oriyah lunges for Gauo but the demon grabs Aoi by the neck before she can.
xxxxCairo removes his hand from covering the Jibaku’s eyes as the demon male growls at the small girl in its clutches. He opens his mouth up wide and lets his slimy tongue snake out of his mouth. He licks her face and frowns. She won’t take very good if her skin takes like that now. She begins to touch Gauo when white fur wraps around her arms, out of the reach of her hands, and ties her arms behind her. Surprised everyone looks around until spotting a small kitten on a support beam in the ceiling. “Stupid feline! Stay out of this! I thought you left,” Aoi snaps angrily as she stares into the mouth of Gauo.
xxxx“I did leave. These stupid humans get tricked so easily. You tricked even Gauo. The demon snorts and shuts his mouth as the kitten looks around at the shocked people below. The only ones that aren’t surprised by him talking are Gauo and Aoi. It paws its way over to the wall and focuses chakra into its feet. It begins walking down the wall until standing beside the Feudal Japan native. “I have to admit. Even though I am only using Hifumi to satisfy my need to look at someone attractive and desire to hear her ‘flashy’ words, I feel slightly angered by how she’s been made to feel because of you. Humans,” the kitten says, not moving its mouth at all. It looks around mostly at Uli, Relula, and Hikaru, “Mi is name Hifumi. A phrase that might trigger your memory is the question she often asked. Do you believe in God?” The feline sits as Gauo lets Aoi go. The fur of the kitten wraps around the young girl as he hisses at her.
xxxx“I should have known I couldn’t play a fair game with her,” someone says as the cold air from outside blows out the fire. Hifumi smiles at Aoi as she steps farther into the room. “I wasn’t lying when I said that I have gaps in my memory. So I’ll be taking this chance to ask a few questions. Uli, were you attacking Gauo or me when you were causing explosions to erupt at the docks in Hidden Twilight?” Uli’s face grows pale as she remembers the day that she’d been made to forget. Thinking Hifumi had done something as harmless as allow Hikaru to touch her breast, Uli went crazy with rage. She started using her doujutsu to try and blow her up.
xxxx“I was attacking you. You kept doing stupid things. You were trying to force Hikaru to touch your breasts even though he didn’t have any attraction to you. But… I found out that wasn’t true. You were confiding in him and your positions were misunderstood. Even still, I tried to blow you to pieces. I caused a commotions by wrecking the docks and almost ruined our chance to escape by blowing up our boat.” Hifumi begins to remember the bits and pieces. Her possessions, everything she had gathered after everything was stolen from her, was destroyed by that jealous girl. “Gauo kept getting in my way. He saved you from getting blown up in the boat. He flew up into the sky with you and then you two started arguing. Eventually we squirmed out of his grip and…”
xxxx“And I let you fall into the water below. That was when Uli blew that up. I didn’t think it was possible or I wouldn’t have let you get to me. It’s not like someone hadn’t tried to push my buttons before. The water where you were blew up and into the air. By the time it occurred to be to dive in after you Uli hit me with a barrage of explosions. It was like she was willing to kill me too,” he glowers over at the red head as Hikaru’s memory returns as well.
xxxx“I forgot about all of it. I didn’t remember… Hifumi… I made everyone retreat because I thought you’d left. Uli told me after she came to after using too much chakra. We all went back to Twilight and went to look for you. But after a while, we couldn’t find you. Gauo had threatened to eat our hearts so when we sailed out to see to try and follow the current he decided to attack. After that… everything’s a blur.” All eyes shift from Hifumi and fall on the Ichazuki Aoi. She chuckles a little before looking at Hifumi.
xxxx“You’re so smug and calm right now. Even after I wiped their memory, you weaseled your way back into their minds. I was going to save them from your tricks, but you managed to break them free somehow. What kind of magic do you have? What kind of tricks did you use?” The girl shakes as Hifumi’s kitten hisses at her once then falls silent. So this was the feeling of victory? And this was also the feeling of defeat? Neither feel as pleasurable as people lead on to Hifumi or Aoi. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ Words = 1,022

But apparently this is what happened during the time mother said that sister was away from home? “That day when Cairo said those words to me in this cottage, I thought I’d lost. I had the feeling that even if he was against me without me even doing anything to push him against me, that it was all over. So I’d given up and put everything in fates hands. I already said that I don’t have the physical ability to do anything. I don’t have an array of techniques that I can use. I have no idea what abilities I am capable of given my clan. I cannot sway the hearts of others. I don’t try and get people to do anything. They do things on their own. They all remembered me on their own.” She notices the kitten finally and lets a name slip from her mouth, “Uiyu, I wondered where you disappeared to. I thought she’d gotten to you too. It seems as though I’ve underestimated you once again." Uiyu? She called him… Uiyu?
xxxx“What are you going to do to me? I can always do this again, you know?” Hifumi walks over to Aoi and stands in front of her. She seems to give her an amused glance that shows that the Ichazuki already knew what would happen. “I’ll be careful next time. I’ll study hard and learn to completely erase their memories next time.”
xxxx“Why?” Huh? “Why would you want to force them to forget someone who isn’t hurting them? I haven’t done anything to cause them harm. I’m not controlling them. And if they want to leave the group then they can. It doesn’t make sense to take away memories that they wanted. It’s selfish to think that you can save people who don’t want to be saved.” Hifumi steps really close to Aoi and presses her body into the girls. Cairo remembers what Hikaru had told him that seemed so long ago. Hifumi doesn’t just touch people because she is into them or trying to get something out of them. She just touches to get her point across. He remembers how she moved her hands when talking to Joey. She looked so free to do with her hands what she wished. She could touch him on the head and he wouldn’t mind. She could hold him and he wouldn’t mind. And she seemed happy having that contact. Could her not having a family unit have something to do with her need to touch people? The Ichtaca girl eases off of Aoi and looks her in the eyes.

She looks at him and smirks, realizing that he could speak and he goes on, “So if you tell me to cut off her hands and call me that name, then I will do it. Without her hands, she can’t cause any harm.” The girl’s eyes bulge at hearing this. Joey’s eyes also grow large and he runs over to the kitten. He waves a finger in the felines face and shakes his head. Doing that would be wrong. Taking away her hands just because they wanted to her to stop wasn’t the only option.
xxxx“Joey doesn’t like that idea. How about we try an idea of mine? She seems to want to protect you all against me and has a soft spot for Cairo, so why don’t we take her with us?” Everyone goes eh, even Aoi, as Hifumi tosses her head to the side. Her sunhats has the edges cut off and it is replaced with black animal fur. Her sleeves are also covered in animal fur though the inner portions are made using burlap sacks for fabric. Her bottoms are made of the same thing and cover her feet inside of her glossy yellow flats. “Uiyu can just as easily deal with Aoi as he is now. He even escaped from her memory wiping abilities. If she becomes a threat then we’ll just use her own medicine against her and get her to wipe her own mind. Then you will feel the sting of not remembering any of us.”

Jono Had left Grass..He was the new leader. Now it was time for Snow to realize the samething. Jono twirled the katana and round in a circle as he placed his blade in the ground.
"So Hidden Snow I want you to realize that you don't have much of a choice..You will be under my command now. You can either fight Death...or accept it..Eithe way..I am the new village leader.."
Jono said as he spun around his two katanas now in a bigger arc. Waiting to see if anybody decided to stand against him.

Kane lies on the ground with bits of metal scrambled atop of him. With a disgruntled snort, the dazed Tetsu pushes the debris aside. His body is covered in some areas by a thick metal while the rest is bare skin. He glimpses up and takes in the steep mountainside and then the scattered bits of metal. That’s right! He’d been fighting against Aisu and Niyou when something happened. But what? All he could remember was using his clan abilities and manipulation of metal to soften the fall from the ledge with a sea of liquid metal. It must have hardened in his short time unconscious. The metal dragon looks around him slowly in an attempt to gather his bearings when he spots a familiar person lying just a few yards from him. His eyes widen very slowly when he realizes that he hadn’t fallen alone. “Eki… Eki!” Kane scrambles to his feet, ignoring his left leg that seemed to be leaking a large amount of blood, and rushes over to the water dragon’s back. He grinds along the snow spotted ground roughly and lifts up the woman’s limp body. He turns Eki onto her back from her side position and holds her in his arms gently. His eyes examine the mortal wound in her chest from having fallen awkwardly on a rock pillar and small gashes from striking odd areas of the mountainside.
He couldn’t feel himself breathing and wondered if he even was. All he knew was that the woman he now holds in his arms… is dead. This girl, this woman, had been with him since he was very young. He would always tease her as a young girl, threatening to eat her precious wind and water blades with great amusement. She was always there to protect him when he needed it and so was he her. They weren’t just long time friends; they were partners in their fighting style and specialty. They accented each other and made up for what the other lacked. And he… he… “Eki? This is a clone, right? Turn back into water then… Go on… turn to water…” The man gently shakes the motionless corpse in an attempt to coax her into vanishing. But she won’t vanish. It had grown dark and they were tired from their attack on Hidden Rain a few days prior. The two finally find a nice camping spot and get things together. Aisu, unlike Niyou, seems perfectly fine in the harsh, cold tundra. So she requires little heat compared to Niyou who is practically sitting inside of the fire that the pair started only moments before. “You don’t regret it, do you?” Aisu looks at Niyou, his back to her, and shakes her head.
“I do not regret what I did. This is war and any war that you are a part of… I am a part of. I know nothing else than you since I can remember, so I will fight alongside you for whatever reason you choose. And I will not regret it,” the icy female replies quickly.
“Then I guess that whole mission wasn’t a complete failure,” the Persian prince responds.
After some time they eat and then rest until early morning when two people arrive to wake them. “Niyou and Aisu… Figures we’d get led to these two.” Niyou opens his eyes as if he was only resting them and stares up from his place in the snow at two figures. Kane stares down at him from beneath a steel face plate that has dots for the eyes to see from behind it. His hair is covered by his mask that extends down to the base of his neck all around his head. A female with long, navy colored bangs in her face is right beside him. A slender hand sweeps the bangs out of her face to reveal her dark, seas green eyes. The both of them are cloaked much the same as Aisu and Niyou are now; in their respective SCM organization cloaks. “You two didn’t do what I suspect you might have, did you,” Eki asks in a harsh, cool tone.
“Whatever you think is probably the right thought. Doesn’t mean it is completely, though. And I don’t like to fuel speculation so my lips are sealed about my right or wrongdoings.” Niyou simply turns onto his side after his statement. Sitting in the butterfly position beside him is Aisu who doesn’t say a word.
“Leaves us no choice then,” Kane comments as the dots for holes to see on his mask expand to show his steel colored eyes completely, “we’ll have to consider you both guilty of massacring Hidden Rain and causing conflict within the nations. You have one more choice to come peaceably or we will be forced to take action on you here.”
“So you two are hired killers or something? Then do whatever you have to do. Just make sure you know what you’re doing first.” And from there fighting ensued. Things escalate from a little roughness here and there to shots to immobilize each other. And after Aisu manipulates some nearby ice she’d created to send Eki towards and not completely over the cliffs edge, sweeping up Kane in the process, things became much more serious.
