Hitomi barely dodged a decent sized shard of floor that was flying towards her only remaining eye... "Damn... I wonder where the village gets the money from..." She looked around, stepping over the groove/split in the floor and looking about the blown apart building... "Janitor?" She walked through the hallway, taking her time reaching the door, and, as Kon~kou landed, spreading her wings, Hitomi reached out and pet her. "I'm sorry it took so long, Kon, let's go see if we can find anything to eat, yes?" Kon~kou nudged Hitomi's hand away and took off, leading the way towards the village center, to decide where to go next. Hitomi followed at a slow pace, partially due to hunger pangs, and partially due to her own thinking

Hitomi walked back into sight of the academy, Kon~kou flying in lazy circles above. She had a mint leaf in her mouth. She had picked it up in town... Amazing what people... Leave around... She stepped into the destroyed hallway, her footsteps echoing through the building.

Hitomi walked out of the academy, getting bored with pacing its halls. She saw a young wolf, looking for something... She looked to her left as Kon~Kou jumped from her perch. Kon~kou swept up in the air, and began to dive -at 50 miles per hour,- towards Baylonka.

Something felt... Off.... Hitomi began to thoroughly scan the area, including the sole tree that was standing in her line of sight. Meanwhile, Kon~kou had begun the dive.

Hitomi spotted something in the tree. A boy... Has a pet... Hitomi let loose an ear-piercing whistle, that could be heard easily by Kon~kou, and she pulled out of her dive at the last second, looking confused... She landed in the tree and looked from Hitomi to Baylonka and back again...

Hiei jumped with a startel as a high pitched whistle filled his ears. he jumped to one knee and waited, listening for som way to identafiy who it was. Baylonka, haveing barely noticed the bird swooping at him in the firt place, was quickly scared and ran for Hiei's side. Hiei stood and spoke boldly. " Who is there? " he walked, hearing the bird land above him. he didn't bother moveing his head upward, he could easily identify the birds possision. It was the whisler he needed to pay atention to.

Hitomi instantly noticed two things. He had his eyes covered no sight at the moment and that he didn't look up at the closest threat, but listened instead for the farther. good hearing. "You should really watch your pup more closely. A hungry Harpy Eagle can take full grown wolves. You're lucky I caught Kon~kou in time. And how are you going to become a genin with your eyes covered? Or are you just trying to show off?" milk him for what it's worth. He might tell me more than I already know.

Hiei was instantly able to pinpoint the location of the other person. Not only that, but he identified that it was a young female, and she was the master of the eagle. " We were just relaxing. Maybe your the one who should keep a better hold on your bird instad of letting him run loose. " he said waiting for baylonka's responce. The young wolf stayed close and silent. He wasn't scared because he wasn't whimpering, and he didn't detect her as a hostile because he wasn't growling. But he was tence. " I don't need to show off. If i'm good enough people will notice. " he said plainly. " Its part of my clans training. I'm from the kenkomishi clan. most of us aren't from around here so i would understand if you didn't know of us. " he said letting his guard down. It wasn't like him to be withdrown, and he wasn't the brightest when it came to keeping your mouth shut. " Who are you? "

My name is Kurenai. I am a student here. It seems I might have to be on a team with the genin here, so I just wanted to check the fellow students out." Hitomi began walking towards him. "Your clan sounds fascinating. What does it do?" Her tone had a slight seduction to it, as was natural after so many years of conditioning...

Hiei further lowered his guard. " Well some peole reffer to us as human tape recorders. Thats why I haft to train my hearing by wearing a blindfold. We copy sounds and what not useing our genjutsu. " he said stoping himself. " Its nice to meet you kurenai." he said exstending his hand for a hand shake. " I'm a student here as well, hopefully about to become a genin. Me and Baylonka can't wait to go on adventures and learn Jutsu, right boy " he said faceing his pet wolf down at his side. The wolf looked up at him with his tong hanging out. " Do you think we'll end up on the same team? I noticed that not many students are left. most of them dropped out. "

Hitomi gives the kid a once over. Not much to look at. Scrawny, an inch shorter than she was, and his pet didn't seem like much more than that. "Nice to meet you, Hiei. Maybe we will be on the same team. There are even fewer people here than when I left." genjutsu... Interesting... Nothing to worry about... "So, I was wondering. How do you expect to fight wearing that blindfold?" She was playing the fool for now, but she'd do a lot more to get information on her opponent before just charging in. And she did feel like a good fight.

Hiei smiled. this girl was naive(sp) it seemed. " The same way the rest of my clan dose. I'm close to releaseing my keriitsu. Its my clans secret weppon. But even with out it I'm not bad at tiajutsu. " he said becomeing slightly laid back. " I actualy trid fighting my dad with out the blind fold once. Compleatly threw me off by makeing me rellie less one sound and more on sight. You see, right now, I can sence you be listening to things like your feet touching the ground or you pulling a blade from its shieth. Once I release my Keriitsu, they say you can even hear the air someone moves by waveing a sing fingure in the air over a hundred yards away. " he said telling her the exstint of the keriitsu. " and thats just stage one. " he said proudly. " Plus, I have something the rest of my clan dosen't. I have eyes, and a partner. " he said turning his head toword bay once more.

"Oh, really? Care to show me just how much better you are with the two advantages?" Hitomi smiled. She had played the fool long enough. It was time for some action to back up the talk. "Let the pup stand down. Let's see how you fare against a real opponent." Hitomi didn't even take a battle stance, she stood right where she was, four and one half feet from him, and crossed her arms across her chest.
((gtg to bed, else I won't be up for half of tomorrow. We can continue this tomorrow?))

(i went to bed way before you did. mrgreen and yes. just because someone gose to bed it dosen't mean the roleplay ends.)
Hiei smirked at the challenge and let out a short, sharp whistel signaling baylonka to stand down. If she wanted him to show her his abilitys, he would never deprive her of it. Hiei was quick and nimble, though not very strong. More than anything he was smart. He rushed the girl and before she could respond, grabbed her arm and swung her over his sholder, leaveing her on her bottom in front of Hiei, at his mercy. " See? " he asked confedently, also takeing into acount the irony in the word he spoke because he clearly could not See. He released her arm and did a back flip to put some space in between them.
