She surfaced quickly, blinking the water out of her eyes and trying to see what had happened. She paddled a little bit closer, and had to fight to keep from laughing out loud when she realized what she'd done.
"Are you all right?" she called, treading water to stay up. She was halfway between where he was and where she'd been now, and the ground was n where near her feet.

Oh gods... not more mermaids Harbird swore internally as he tried to pull himself back up onto the pier once more while simultaneously holding his pants on. "Yes, i think so, thank you miss..." He slid down again and gave up on the pier, half wading, half-swimming over to the shallows and gazing forlornly after his quarterstaff, which was floating in the middle of the lake. "You startled me a bit there, Sweets. Got a bit to into my meditations, I s'pose." He flashed her a quick smile, but kept his eyes politlely averted from her bobbing floating nekkid boobs BAD Thoughts!

She took a breath and dove back under, feet visible in the air as she pushed down, showing she was, at least, something like human. She emerged near the quarterstaff, snagging it and holding it up, curiously.
"What form do you study, O Graceful One? Flail-Drown Chi?"

The boy blushed and pushed damp bangs out of his eyes. " oh, very funny, very funny, water-lady." he rolled his eyes and stalled, trying to come upp with any kind of comeback but mostly focusing on the fact that there was a very pretty girl completely naked in front of him, who was *not* a mermaid and therefore not too terribly likely to be a scary long-lost foster sister.
and he was only wearing some rather clingy drawstring pants and a white tank-top. " Actually, it's a variant of tai-chi. and i am usually a much better swimmer." he winked at her cheesily

"Oh really?"
She was close enough to shore now to put her feet down, which she did, stretching, languidly, nearly pulling a little too far outof the water as she did. If she were three inches taller, he would have gotten a full frontal view.
"Come show me. Swimming alone is boring."

Harbird's eyes crossed as she stretched, and he walked a little farther into the water. "Sounds like something to do.." he said, managing to sound only a little strangled. "Can I ask th' name of my new exercise companion?"

She grinned, broadly, shaking her head, lightly, scattering waterdrops off her curly silver hair.
"Not yet. I'll tell you when I tell you. And feel free to do the same."
She dropped her arms again, backing up a few feet into deeper water, beaming, waitin patiently. This was going to be easy.

"Ah? Got something to hide, water-lady?" Harbird peeled off the tanktop, which was chafing, and threw it on the peir, a sodden lump of slightly translucent white cotton. " well, I gues i'll be the polite one here.- My Name's Harbird." He then dived into the water, gliding along the bottom just under the surface until it got deeper, very carefully not looking at the girl until he'd surfaced.

She giggled, making sure to get as close as she could before he surfaced, and murmured,
"Maybe I do, Master Harbird. Maybe I'm a spy and just want to torture you for any information you may have."
She grinned mischevioslu, flicking a strand of hair out of wide green eyes and watching him closely.

He shrugged, as well as he could while treading in water, and smiled lopsidedly. "Me, Spy-lady? What information would normal old me have? Go to the magic users, or the vampires, or the elves or whatever other kind of magical weirdness you can find in this town."
He ducked his head, slightly embarassed. " And I thought water-torture was supposed to be much more psych'logical. And.. Y'know. torturous." As he relaxed a bit more his accent shifted, becoming more of a drawl and letting slang back into the party.

Ignoring the comment about vampires, she lifted an eyebrow in surprise and pleasure, enjoying the familliar drawl. He brother had nearly annexed it, but he still had it from time to time. Without warning, she moved around behind him, circling her arms around his waist and purred into his ear, playfully,
"Vee haff vays off making you talk."

Candycane Scartissue Tsukasu laughed nervously before he could stop himself. He cleared his throat and nodded, his palms sweating as he worked to tie the strings together. He took a deep breath, laughing nervously once more. Eh heh, he mumbled. Let's get started, ne?smiled as he helped her. She was still having trouble with certain items of clothing but she was sure she'd get it all right soon. "Let's!" Excitedly, Leilani beamed and quickly made her way back to the water, stopping a moment to carefully walk into it. She wasn't sure how her legs would take to the water and she certainly didn't want to have it make her fall over and make a fool of herself.

Tsukasu nodded, smiling to his friend. He lead her to the water, holding onto her as he pulled her into where the water was barely over their hips. Okay, he breathed, shivering slightly with a laugh. Are you comfortable so far? he asked. Being comfortable, he knew, was a very important thing in learning.

Leilani swayed a little as she got further out but with Tsukasu holding onto her, she knew she wouldn't fall. "Yes, I think so. It just feels different to be standing in water." It didn't scare her in any way. It was simply something new and Leilani was always up for new things.

Tsukasu nodded. Okay... so now... he said, gently reaching down to grasp one of her legs by her knee. I want you to let go of your standing position, to see if you can bring your legs back up here, like you're laying on your stomach... he said, smiling to her.
