"Fair enough," Lore nodded in agreement.
He hated to have to bring something like that up, but there was no way to get around it. This was an issue that had to be faced in light of what they've found out so far.
"At least you get to keep him longer."

At that comment, Elnara couldn't help but giggle.
"You make it sound as if he's something to possess," she laughed, "or a pet to be passed off! But you're right, I do get to keep him with me a while longer." She smiled at Lore and giggled again.

Lore laughed at that, "I say that, because that is what it seems like to me."
He tugged her close to him with a low chuckle, recalling some of the things he had experienced.
"I remember.... older students choosing to learn particularly in the city the library is in, and it is their first year away from home, and their mothers showing up out of the blue to 'check on them'. "

Elnara giggled into his shoulder. "Yes ... no matter how old he is when he comes here, I'll be checking in on him at least twice a day ... which of course will be weeks here."
She sighed, but it was a peaceful sigh. "Besides, even if things were well, he's too young to be away from me for that long, even if he is with family ... of a sort."

Lore nodded at that, "Indeed he is."
It would be good to see Celebor one stage in life older before seeing him off.

"But the question arises, then," Elnara pointed out, "will he ever be big enough for me to say that he's no longer my little boy? He is after all only nine and a half months old. If he's like Trisha or Yue or Yukito and is an adult in only a year or so, though I doubt that he'll grow quite that quickly, will he be any older in my mind?"

"It depends," Lore replied, "It's hard to imagine that in another year or so he would be a teenager or adult. Somone who isn't like the child Celebor we know. I think you need to see him at that stage before you can decide."
He paused a bit and thought about it.
"Though to some parents their children never stop being little."

Elnara grinned at Lore as they approached the castle again. "You mean the way my mother kept fawning over me when she was visiting us?" she murmured softly, "and kept trying to get me to eat more?"
She laughed.

Lore coughed a bit trying not to chuckle, after all he was sure Serenity didn't get to act like a mother very often.
"Well.. yes something like that," he smiled at her.

As they entered the castle, Elnara was surprised to see Storm and Starr coming down the hall with Haradhel. Storm, she was happy to see, seemed to have completely recovered from his bout of sunstroke, and was much more sensibly dressed in what looked like a silk shirt - though he was still wearing his black pants.
Starr had also undergone a change of wardrobe: the style of her clothes was still the same, a kimono, but it too seemed to be made of silk which had been coloured to resemble almost perfectly the kimono that she normally wore.
"MAMA! PAPA!" both of the shouted together, jumping from Haradhel's shoulders and flying carefully to the floor before running at Elnara and Lore.

Haradhel smiled and waved to Lore and Elnara. "Welcome back," she told them warmly. "I've been keeping the twins occupied all day ... I hope you don't mind, I was helping them with their magic ... they're very gifted."

Lore chuckled at that as he picked both the twins up, since Elnara had her hands full. So the two had been practicing magic, he supposed the rule had been they had to with adults that also knew magic.
"Is that so?" he asked them.

Elnara cast the twins a reprimanding glance. "Magic, hmm," she murmured softly. Then she looked up at Haradhel. "Thank you for taking care of them," she smiled. "It seems as though they enjoyed their time with you."
She paused thoughtfully, then stepped forward, closer to her future sister-in-law.
"Lore and I were planning on visiting the plantation where I grew up for a few days," she murmured. "Do you think it would be possible for you to keep a bit of an eye on the twins? Limit their magic use, and make sure they don't do anything they shouldn't?"
Storm nodded vigorously to Lore. "Haradhel has lots of pretty threads, all the time!" he exclaimed. "Even when she's not doing magic!"
Starr clapped her hands together excitedly. "She can play with the threads just like we can!" she told Lore eagerly. "Even more! She can make threads where there are none!"
"We can't do that," Storm put in solemnly. "We can only play with them if they're already there."

Haradhel smiled at Elnara and nodded, relieved that she wasn't angry. The children had told her that they weren't supposed to be using any magic at all while they were there, but their talk of the "threads" had been all too intriguing for her, and she had promised them that she would shoulder all blame if they got into trouble.
"I'd love to," she assured Elnara. "They were really no trouble at all, we had a lot of fun together."

Well play wouldn't be the word that Lore would use to describe the task, but well, at least they were doing magic under the eye of someone who could stop it if worse came to worse.
"Well..." Lore murmured, "That's good to know, that you two are learning something."
