well yah, clear smog would mess up bulk up, but not all roobushin's abuse bulk up.
they also carry payback. so it's not like it couldn't fight back.

I personally would Clear Smog, explosion. Dead roopushin... Payback won't do a lot.

yah... even on a lickilicky... who gets STAB explosion. X_x oh well I guess they thought that explosion was OP or something, cause yah... it sucks now evenw ehn STAB xd but then again, I only use it when I know I can't survive more than 1 more attack, and it DOES do many that any other attack, so I don't mind using explosion with my licky, even if it doesn't kill stuff often sweatdrop

yus, in gen 1 through gen 4, explosion and self destruct halved the defense of the oppoent in the damage calculation.
that is why these moves were always so powerful.
in Gen 5, it no longer does this.
