Streamjumper Zero Omega Streamjumper Zero Omega Streamjumper Zero Omega So I'm just a tool for Teh Man?! gonk You've always been a tool... now you're just a slightly more useful tool. I feel so used and mocked. gonk So its more or less an average day in your life? ... gonk *goes and jumps off a cliff* *waits at the bottom with a baseball mitt kaiser roll and mustard* In other news, I: a> Really should get myself a copy of FF9, since I lost my old one a while ago and really want to play my favorite FF again, before 12 has a chance to steal that title away. b> really need to kill people that give FF9 AMVs shitty ratings just because it isn't 7 or 10. *sammich'd* gonk
FFIX was really good stuff, I remember getting it during Christmas when I got the little screen for my Playstation 1 and playing it all day long.
But! BUT! TEH SEPHROTH! gonk

But! BUT! TEH SEPHROTH! gonk I personally consider Zidane to be one of the most heroic of the FF main characters... mainly because he could have walked away from the whole mess easily, but didn't. Pretty much every other main (i.e. the one you started with and spent most of the game with) hero was roped into things and had no real choice. Plus, he wasn't the goddamn emo mess most of the others have been... he was a genuinely good guy who made the best of whatever situation he was in. Besides, Garnet and Beatrice were hot. And they're some of the only females to break the mold established in 7 and continued in 8, 10, and 10-2. And the whole black mage plotline rocked hardcore.

Perhaps, the introductory stuff was so boring I didn't make it 3 hours into FFIX before bailing. >_< But from what you say perhaps I should go back and give it a go through.

Man, Zidane was a great character, I really love how they played him out, he's everything you said he is. I hope we get another character like that in the upcoming games.
Don't remember most of the story off-hand, been about... Four years since I last played it, I still have it, if I remember correctly.
In other RPG news, I've been playing Breath of Fire III again, the game is so fecking win. I couldn't finish it my last go because, if I remember correctly, there was a puzzle in the last dungeon where if you messed up, you couldn't continue on with the game. I messed up and saved. gonk

Zero and Strream FF9 stuff So nice to finally kow people that know how amazing of a game 9 was, what did it for me was bringing back the entire fantasy setting. The costumes were so good and the environments made me feel like a little kid. I wanna see more of that in games! scream In other news, Silent Hill rocked. I've been replaying the series since about 2pm today, besides work...though so far, I've only made it to the first part of the elementary school. sweatdrop

Peppermint Elf Streamjumper People need to go to AMV.org and get the video "Still Preoccupied with 1985". I just found it while screwing about today and it is great. It has a bunch of snippets of other stuff, but it mostly just uses Yukari from Azumanga with 1985 from Bowling for Soup. I'm pretty sure anyone watching it will get a kick outta the clips they use when referring to 80s icons. OMG... that was.... good! eek I love that song... I should download it... if I had a way to. crying You could always IM me when I'm on...I should definitely go get that AMV...

FanFicGuru Hooray for massive cosplay thingy! So my costume designer says captains will be 200 dollars and Vice captains will be 150. She's desiging the shinigami captain robes from Bleach. So yeah, I know many of you aren't as into anime and stuff as you used to be, but if you want to hop on and pick a captain or vice captain, you'll be getting a cool outfit out of the deal. lol. But that'd mean doing the rest of the outfit, including weird hair and all. Wait, maybe I'll just go for Aizen. I look closest to him anyways. XD

Peppermint Elf Streamjumper Well, if my temp assignment at Massmutual does indeed go perm (as several department managers seem to think) I'll be getting into the market for a house... maybe you'd be interested in staking out a room to rent. You call your refridgerator a "room" now? I know you like to keep your lunchmeats fresh, but at least be honest with the guy! gonk TE... bring your own baking soda. Stream likes his "guest room" to stay odor free. 3nodding No one likes a weird smelling fridge.Must be one big fridge. XD

I've seen the video and also massively reccomend it. I never did get around to giving my thoughts on the VCA nominees for this year, so once I finish backlog, I'll give some suggestions of recent AMVs that were really good.

I'm probably gonna go see the movie next weekend, when I have the money for it. I can safely say that the games were one of the only "horror" games that ever actually scared me in the sleightest. Aside from the SH series, I see horror as the genre that gives you too many enemies that take too many of the bullets that you only get a scant handfull of to kill. And seriously, how can anyone really be all that surprised that Raccoon city had a problem with the undead when there were occult statues in the goddamn police department?

Well, the best way to do this I think would be to go by category, picking out my favorites and others of note and talking about them.
Action: Always the most interesting category. So many AMVs are action, this one always has a wide selection of great music videos. Let's begin:
Full Metal Alchemist - Always Hardcore: Hmm...on rewatching, this video's better than I remembered it. Good, upbeat song. Very well edited. Lots of cool action in it. Armstrong in all his sparkly goodness. Not the best of the actions, per se, but still a good song. This one actually won the dance category, and it's a good example of both groups. Reccomended
Naruto - Naruto Technique Beat: Call me crazy, but I didn't like this one as much as everyone else seems to. Lots of flash, but not enough behind it. The premise, a catalogue of five Naruto characters' abilities is interesting, but in the end, it just got out of hand with the amount of effects. Not terribly reccomended, but it is interesting to look at.
Lots of anime - Jihaku: I love this video. I absolutely love this video. Maybe a bit too quick to change, but I found that the video matched the lyrics of the song fairly well, but more than that, matched the general feeling of the song. Excellent editing as well, which made it have the feeling also of a real music video. When I first watched it, I wasn't a huge fan. It really grew on me, though, once I realized how perfectly the song did fit the general feeling of "This is life. All the ups and downs; happiness, sadness, pain, love." There is one teensy problem with it, though. It's not action. Great video, deserved to (and did) win Video of the Year, but it's not action-y enough to win action. Still, *highly* reccomended.
One Piece - Sail On: Hear me out on this one, even those of you who don't like One Piece. This video is really, really good. It gives off perfectly the feeling of the series, the balance of lighthearted and serious that I find excellently done in One Piece. The action in the video is well edited and the song is perfect for the series. It's just...*fun*. The video is highly reccomended, aand I'd like to once again say that the series is as well, though I know many here were disillusioned by the early episodes.
Naruto - Phenomenon: Y'know, I'm just gonna stop saying they're well edited, as everything is really very well done. This is the best of the action videos, perfectly capturing exactly why Naruto was so awesome. Good song, good choice of clips and action, highly reccomended.
