LightsOfDecember Phantom_Knight_x_ So it's snowing in NM, and I just spent 2 hours with my nephew attempting to build a snowman. My gloves have more thorns in them than a rose bush, and because NM is never prepared for this they have numerous car wrecks all over the place and highways closed down. (and some side streets) It's always such fun. It's 24.5 degrees (76.1) in Auckland, New Zealand at the moment. Our high today is supposed to be 26. I'm just glad it's not super muggy at the moment like it was last weekend. Last weekend all I did was lie sprawled on my bed playing Dragon Age: Inquisiton with my windows thrown wide open, and begging for a breeze, rain or both. Lol we're running about 30 Fahrenheit right now, and it's suppose to drop low tonight. I like the cold right now, but I prefer it to stay about 60 or so. Which is ironic considering I live in a desert. We generally hang out in the 90s most of the year. Rain is always better. I miss rain. Is Dragon Age: Inquisition as good as some people have been claiming? It'll probably be a while before I play it.

Devil-Steel I do believe that he threw a propane powered leaf blower into one of Lucas' attacks, but it never got much further than that. I was soooooo close. Nice and ineffective.

We only get that cold here in Auckland during the middle of winter, and it has to be bloody cold for the mercury to get that far down. We don't get snow though either. I'm playing as a mage, and I find it a little inconvenient you can't whack enemies across the head with your staff if they get too close, but otherwise it's really good. I'm running a Rouge, Warrior and another Mage as my team. They're a hoot to listen to in terms of their in-game conversation. I was dying over a conversation they held recently about scissors.

I like it staying around 70, because anything above that and it get's too hot. Then again I live in Texas and it really, really, really humid here. What I wouldn't give for the dry heat of a desert. As far as DA is concerned I really enjoyed it. It wasn't broken upon release like so many other games, so that helped it a lot. My first run was as a Rouge, with 2 warriors and mage for the party. The party banter while exploring is amazing at times. The gameplay isn't quite as tactical as Origins, and your limited to 8 active skills. They have cut a lot of what I enjoyed about Origins actually. Made it more 'console friendly'. Which isn't a bad thing, it is a good game. But I just miss some things from the first two games. Like stat allocation. That shouldn't have been removed. Not at all. I guess they felt like it made the game too easy(hard?) or something. As with all games, it has it's ups and downs. Like Mass Effect and taking away the overheating of guns in place of ammo and reloading. Seriously why was the tech of guns decreased? Now something like 'Oh no my gun overheated!' *eject overheated sink and replace* Would let you shave a few seconds depending on the weapon, but....ya know what I'm going to stop ranting....

Sorry, I didn't mean below. Just low. It's suppose to get down to like 15. -.- Although not too long ago it did actually fall below. One of the door hinges/latches on the car actually got frozen solid. Well, I'm more of a shoot 'em up and hack and slash sorta guy in games. I'm not super fond of powers and stuff in games so that shouldn't effect me much razz Were they trying to nerf the mage?

The problem with Auckland is that we don't have a dry heat because we're surrounded by water. In other words we're almost always hot and sticky because the air is already full of moisture. Fuuunnnnn.... The lower half of the North Island and the South Island gets snow, freezing conditions and such. I'd rather just stay up here in the North. All we get is rain for winter XD Uhhh... Can't say? I didn't play the other two DA games. I just watched my ex play them. Coming from playing Kingdoms of Amalur though, it is frustrating because in that, you have two weapon options and you can switch between them easily. So I can from afar sit back and fire off spells and such, but once the enemy comes close pull out my Fae Blades and set about turning them all into chopped liver. Have you had a look at The Order? THAT is looking quite interesting I must say.

You two do realize that one of you is talking Celsius while the other is speaking Fahrenheit right? So when she said -1 she meant Celsius which is what 30 Fahrenheit is. So when it get's down to 15 for you tonight that would be -9 for her. Just wanted to clear this up. Moving on....yes the mage was nerfed. Beyond nerfed. Mages don't even have a healing spell so you can't even run an effective support mage anymore *imo*. They don't really have any large area nukes like they used to either. If you like Hack N Slash, then a warrior would probably be right up your alley.

So did mages used to have a donk on the head option? My ex used to always play as a rouge or a warrior, so I'd never really seen the mages in action before.

I don't really remember the mage's auto attack from the first Dragon Age. They changed auto attacks to basically what they are now in two, but in two you could just hold to continually attack. I don't think they ever had a donk on the head option, but their spells were a lot better back then, so was the agro system. So your mage could sit back and nuke everything while your warrior kept their attention.

Something from a NZ paper "My husband thought it a fun game to continually flick me on the forehead right between the eyes, while keeping me at arm's length. I lost my cool, kicked him in the shin and broke my big toe. I am a petite young blonde, and explaining how I did it over and over to the nurse, the doctor, the radiologist and the physio got a lot of dropped jaws and hysterical laughing. The best bit? The kick didn't even leave a mark on husband's leg." Why do I have visions of Kora and Oni from this?

Actually it might have if she hadn't gone to stomp on his foot, but had kicked him in the shin. Granted it would have been for a slightly different reason. I officially support the need to be able to tip posts in a guild now!

LightsOfDecember Have you had a look at The Order? THAT is looking quite interesting I must say. My brother brought it up with me actually regarding that game. It has my eye for sure, but it wouldn't be the first time something that promising leads to a super let down. That's why I've also been trying my hardest to know as little as possible about a game before I get it. Just basically check to see if other people liked it. Devil-Steel You two do realize that one of you is talking Celsius while the other is speaking Fahrenheit right? So when she said -1 she meant Celsius which is what 30 Fahrenheit is. Don't get me wrong, they all have their fair share of problems, but I don't understand why they got rid of some of the things they did. Sustained spells were amazing. You lose X amount of your mana/stamina pool to have an ability constantly up. My favorite was the dual wield rogues momentum. You gained a 30%(I think) increase to your attack speed. Warriors could mitigate damage while drawing agro. Mages could enchant the parties weapons. Also you could pull up the radial menu navigate to your active spells and cast one that isn't in your quick set if you wanted/needed to. <- That right there is one of the problems with mages in Inquisition. Not to mention that willpower used to increase your mana/stamina pool. Not your damage. >.< Which means you could spam more spells. Which was helpful. You didn't need auto-attacks because you were out of mana/all your spells are on cooldown.
