Always been more of a cat person, myself. But every cat is different, I've had quite a few over my lifetime, and no two have been the same. ^^

They might like the security and privacy of having something around them? Some people also think that new boxes don't have a cat smell, so a cat wants to mark it... and they sit on top of things because they're cats and *anything* is better than sitting on the floor like a dog might... xd

Some cats do indeed love to scratch at boxes, yes.
And yes, they also seem to dislike the floor. XD

That aside, though... if Asuka's being a cat, Aselia's wings would make her a bird, so shouldn't the pouncing be the other way around from how it usually happens?

Aselia wouldn't mind. She's the sort who really likes it when other people show up to surprise her... though in the RP, now might not be the best time, considering events. XD; But it's something to keep on the menu, at least.
