Tasn Zheng Honestly, I don't think Kuro's piece would be nearly as traumatizing as what Arc keeps thinking of. I can only hope so. >.> I'm able to deal with mild to moderate trauma quite easily...its the severe trauma that Arc keeps hinting at that I worry about.

And a late reply to critique: I have to agree about it needing more, and that's a problem I've been having lately. It's the same reason why Kit's and Maren's tale never goes anywhere: The center of the cake is baked, and then I try to fill in the edges with raw batter and bake the whole thing again. It does not make for a pretty cake or story. The dinner scene was the center in this case.

It does not make for a pretty cake or story. The dinner scene was the center in this case. Well my advice for short stories and stories as a whole is to not throw everything you know into one piece. Rather, use bits and pieces that are relevant or would make a tight story. The main issue with the one you submitted was the length and descriptions of events or actions that weren't completely necessary. Had you just stuck to one scene and fleshed it out by putting in inner monologues or descriptions of feelings and looks, you could've made quite a good story. In the case of the dinner scene...I'll give you an example of what I mean sometime this weekend when I have the luxury of time to write. @ Erynne: Probably. XD Thanks for participating anyway! @Kuro: For some reason, I am less sensitive to art than writing, so I doubt it could be as traumatizing as anything Arc could write up.
