*she returns her attention to the keys, starting to select the off the board at random and try them in the lock. They all seem to fit, but none of them will turn* . . . Interesting . . . .

*Mel reacts just as quickly, catching Cora's wrist in a firm grip well before she can reach her target* Ah ah ah *she wags the index finger of her free hand in Cora's direction* I think not.

*Well aware of Cora's above-average strength, Melli just smiles, shifting her grip on Cora's wrist and turns quickly, using Cora's own force and momentum to push her away* Really, dear, is this necessary? *she sighs, but her pale eyes are dancing - she's clearly entertained*

*Mel recognizes the shift in Cora's eyes as she comes at her more seriously, her own narrowing, her grin widening.* If you can. *Gathering up her skirts for easier movement, she sidesteps, then darts out a hand to strike Cora between the shoulderblades, once more using Cora's own force against her to knock her forward, hoping to throw her off balance*
Although, you know, this match is rather unfair. *she says, mockingly, patting her hair to make sure her elaborate style is still in place* I'm hardly dressed for a fight.

*Melliandra dodges Cora again, but doesn't try to attack this time. She narrows her eyes, observing Cora's movements carefully.*
It's rather pointless for me to attack you outright, isn't it? *she speaks in a conversational tone, though her body is tensed and ready to move* You're entirely impervious to any blow I could deliver with my bare hands . . . hmmm . . ..

*Mel tries to dart out of the way, but her heavy skirts hamper her movements. She manages to avoid getting caught, but the force from the impact is enough to knock her down* Damn it all!
