Nariana Ikr? If only we could get everyone back from real life. :/ I hope so too. Dead points in the guild are annoying, because for me that means another day of absolute crushing boredom unless I can get myself working on something. Here's a good one that could be started any time, it strings together the plot points I spoke of earlier (except the underground, as it's in development) : Riots and shootouts and drive-bys and etc are happening in the slummier parts of Durem thanks to increasingly vicious competition in the drug market and territory disputes in addition to the already existing racial tension and Von Helson vs Kuro conflict. Many vamps and elves are getting steamrolled by each other, some old but most young. Some human college kids are also caught up in the mix and killed, which provokes a downright nasty reaction from the Durem Police Department, the local media, and Gaians that are conveniently far away from the bloodshed. Now instead of vamp vs elf skirmishes, it's vamp vs elf vs police siding with humans in an all-out war.

Yeah... Facebook only lasts so long until your final resort is to stalk people's timelines. Dx Also, warning if you didn't see: Guilds will be disabled tonight for a few hours according to Gaia Dev Alert.

*flails hands*
Too much plot detail for me to deal with. Good thing I don't know any other factions aside from dark elves! Dx

Yeah, I was implying both of those things with the college kids and those totally removed from the actual conflict. The kids themselves could have attempted to play both sides and lost, could have simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time, or sided with one faction or the other and became cannon fodder, or anything else related. The police and the media report the gang violence as harming innocent people and must be stopped and etc., but know damn well that it's a recurring problem stemming from bad economic conditions and no local resources. The humans living in Durem near or in the slums will decide for themselves, but many humans outside Durem will just watch whatever's the breaking news on TV (as they're safe and uninvolved) and will most likely call for an end to gangs, develop and act on racist attitudes toward both parties (or do the exact opposite and try to force 'diversity'), and/or call for harsher restrictions on weapons and drugs without realizing the consequences.

Edit for additional theory stuff: And -I think- given Gaia's distinct 4-season climate and the fact it borders an ocean, the setting's slice of the world map would be somewhere between Massachussetts and South Carolina, on the coast.

.o. does anyone have anything planned for the Winter Solstice tomorrow?
Edit: that was meant to be posted a long time ago and I forgot to refresh the page, lol. I missed so much discussion.
@Gaia in relation to our world: I always figured that Durem was supposed to reflect NYC. Or, since Gaia's founders are from Southern California, LA? Though, Durem wouldn't be able to get snow in LA... but New York does get both snow storms and heat waves...?

Though, Durem wouldn't be able to get snow in LA... but New York does get both snow storms and heat waves...? I'm talking about the whole Gaia map. Isle de Gambino, Aekea, Durem and Barton plus the surrounding land. It seems all of Gaia gets snow in the winter and godawful temps in the summer. Cali doesn't snow near the coast, only inland and near mountains.

Bawww double post featuring inane content! I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 7:20AM today when I usually don't wake up until 2:20PM. I'm going to crawl back into my bed since it's warm there and nobody's online yet, but lol.
