Bakura said a few more things to soothe Rei, then sighed. He took some of the bandages and tried to patch Rei up as best as he could for the moment, and when he was done he stood up, scooping Rei up in his arms. He took her to the bedroom, wrapping her in the blanket and sitting with her on the bed, holding her tightly to his chest, wincing as he tried not to bleed all over her.

Bakura sat, just holding her, and only when he was sure she was asleep did he cry. Stupid, stupid, he shouldn't have left. This was just because he had been becoming so cold towards her. Guilt tortured Bakura's mind as he wept, before passing out silently from blood loss.

The next morning rei woke up "k-kura..." she studdered softly "your hurt..."

Bakura opened his eyes slowly, taking a moment before he noticed Rei. "So are you." He said, as though that was all that needed to be said. He pushed himself up, his muscles trembling slightly with the effort. "Are you okay? I would have gone after those other two and ripped out their throats but you were there... Are you feeling better? I'm sorry I hadn't been able to get there faster, one of the bastards had a whip..."

Rei was trembling just to keep herself sitting up "please...bandage yourself..." she pleaded. Rei was very pale and looked amost dead. She swayed slightly trying to keep herself upright.

Bakura pushed Rei down. "Don't strain yourself." He said, almost growling. "I don't want you to... I'm not going to let you die." He said, blinking back tears. "I can't lose you, can't almost lose you, not again..."

Bakura hesitated a moment, then placed a hand on Rei's cheek. "I have to take care of you first..." He said softly, then got up, wincing a little.

Bakura sighed, brushing some hair from her face, before he went to the pool of water close to the house, washing the dried blood off of him and getting a bucketful, bringing it back to the house. He went back to the bed, kneeling besides it, shaking Rei slightly. "I need to clean out some of your wounds."

Rei weakly opened her eyes"kura....im cold..." she muttered her eyehalf open.

"I'm sorry..." Bakura got up and located another blanket, wrapping it around Rei. He rubbed his hand up and down her arm to warm it by friction.

Rei had close her eyes agian by the time he got back. Her head was tilted to the side and had steady breathing.
