Hitokage Streamjumper Cynder Streamjumper Cynder Never played BESM... and what's the game you hold in low regard? Shadowrun. Why so? I've heard mostly rave reviews (read: fanatical fan boy praise) of the system/game/thing. 1> The game is a serious powergamer magnet. Just think of the draw of being able to brag about the skill of your cheesy martial artist, the savage badassedness of your orc barbarian, the power of your 367th level wizard, and the size of your character's guns all in one game. I've met a lot of good gamers who like it, but every table that it gets played at has at least two particularly virulent Timmies that cannot be gotten rid of. One is usually the ref. 2> Sometimes when you combine game elements you come up with unique and truely awesome stuff... sadly, the way the Shadowrun world is put together feels like it came about when a gaming group wanted to play Cyberpunk 2020 but couldn't tear themselves away from their elven mages and half-orc fighters long enough to go high-tech. Pick up the GURPS Technomagic supplement and you will see a more cohesive feeling setting put forth as a context to show you how one can fit magic into a modern/near-future setting... 3> I don't know about whatever they're up to in editions now, but past editions of Shadowrun have had some of the crappiest system rules I've ever managed to see in action. Rarely have I ever seen one round of combat get dragged out as long as Shadowrun combat was capable of... and I've seen a lot of dragged out combat. To be honest, I like systems that are either fast and loose like the Storyteller and 7th Sea systems or easily modified like GURPS and the BESM Tri-Stat system. On a related note, I'm writing up a list of systems/games I want to try out the next time I stop by my hobby store. So far I have: 7th Sea Exalted BESM Gear Krieg GURPS Do you have any other suggestions? Nice list... I especially reccomend 7th Sea. Another that can prove to be more fun than it should be for its 3$ price tag is Kobolds Ate My Baby. Less than 5 minutes to make characters and about that reach the first player fatality during a good session with plenty of crazy house rules.

The title also put an amusing image in my head. domokun

MegamanPsy Peppermint Elf Kinetic Dream *snags his self a spot* ninja Edit: You know, despite how many times I've seen Who Framed Rodger Rabbit? I still love it. heart Smiiiiile, darn ya, smiiiiile... biggrin Next KH needs a toon town level. No, next KH needs a Snow White Level. Seriously, it's the first Disney animated movie, right? Why has it then had nothing in either of the Kingdom Hearts games? Hell, Fantasia doesn't even have a plot and it's had more in there...

Cynder Streamjumper Cynder Streamjumper Cynder On the note of WoD based games, I've been contemplating working up rules for a Ghost in the Shell setting, and was actually contemplating polling those of us that play RPGs for ideas and such... should I go ahead and make a thread? Try looking into the Tristat cyberpunk game from Guardians of Order. I've only flipped through it, but it looks a lot better for such than the Storyteller system. ... but I don't want to learn another system! gonk I think you might already know the basics of the system... have you ever played Big Eyes Small Mouth (aka BESM), the anime RPG? That is where the tri-stat system came from, which they modified to make several other games, including this one. Besides, the one book you'd need for it includes everything you need to make a cyberpunk game ranging from dark and gritty to slightly more whimsical. With the barest touch of work you can even bring mecha into the deal or you could go more towards fantacyberpunk like a certain game I hold in low regard. Never played BESM... and what's the game you hold in low regard? Before looking for Stream's following responce, I predict...Shadowrun.

Stream, weren't you going to use it to make AG character sheets?

The Game of Thrones RP. I liked the books (to about the middle of the third book where the character death and the branches and unrealized plots got too much for them) and the system looks like it captures the feeling of the world as well.

Zelyhon Before looking for Stream's following responce, I predict...Shadowrun. Or Palladium. He dislikes both games... xd I've definitely played less RPGs than Stream, so there's a lot that I've never played. But I'm a devotee of White Wolf, BESM (Tri-stat...D20 is ok, but I've never liked the D20 systems as much as the others), and 7th Sea.

Peppermint Elf It's true tho! sweatdrop It's like George W. Bush calling someone a warmonger.... or stupid.
Edit: She's also put up her sash in the vend for about 3 mill. What an idiot. She's never been particularly bright and she's always been quite greedy. She was one of the big-time fishers back in my trophy-month and she was always rather like that.
