Probably because I've never played any of the Megaman games.

The Megas aren't bad really. Just not worth buying in my opinion.
I do like the fact that they're actually playing their own music, with a Megaman theme to it instead of just playing Megaman themesongs.

Vaettur Silent Hill 1 was frightening when playing at night. I remember playing it around a friend of mine's house. Like the first corner, where theres blood on the wall scared me for whatever reason. xD

doom 3 was the first game that made me jump a lot my first time through.

I believe the very first game that scared me was Wolfenstein.
It's not really frightening, but it was kind of scary when you're young and alone.

I think the first game that frightened me was a resident evil game (probably number one) that my cousin was playing. O_o
