Triton Winters

"It's okay," Triton murmured, "This is new to you right? It happens," he moved towards the dryer areas of the shelter, "The last time it rained, I was fortunate enough to have the cave leading into the Borderlands, and when it snowed, mother was there to create a shield," his tail flicked at the thought of getting wet, "So... this situtation is somewhat new to me as well."

However he knew it would happen sooner or later and besides the headmaster was a bit of a sadist sometimes.

Yue leaned against one of the rocks that made up the shelter they were in, he wasn't so fond of rain himself. The Second world it somehow managed to not rain but still have green plants and the inn was always nice and cozy. This land was nothing like the places in Gaia he haunted nor his birth world. He would rather make it colder so it would snow instead of rain, but... Nadya probably wouldn't like that.

He kept the thought of snow rather than rain to himself though.

Nadya took a seat on the ground with her back against a rock, hugging her knees to her chest and adjusting her cloak to keep herself as warm and dry as possible.

"It almost makes me wish we had a firecaster with us," she smiled at Triton. "Elnara ... Elrohir, Rigel, Reave, Mikhail ... they all are. As rare as the gift was, their father passed it down to half of his children. It would be nice to have it here, now."

She lowered her cowl briefly as if listening for something, then raised it once more, covering her head again.

Gion sat next to Nadya so help her keep warm, pulling his blanket from his pack and slinging it over her shoulders as well. Then he looked back to Donovan.

We should probably think about how we're going to do this, he suggested, hands steady. How many of us are going to go in? Which of us? For how long?

"We really don't need a lot of people to do this," Donovan replied back thoughtfully, "Three at most," he murmured, "Because quite frank.... whatever is considered the most unversial tongue we Gaians don't speak it, most likely translator is Nadya... but that means at least two others should go as well."

He was going to keep his promise, and while they could get away with one, having two to play guard and question maker would be safer.

Mia was the one sitting closest to where the rain was without getting wet, discomfort didn't fully exist as a concept. Though it bothered her to not have the convinence of her manga, dolls and clothes, weather wise she was fine. Though she was a bit displeased to be able to read, it was too dark to do so.

"Hmm..." Triton mused nodding that would have been a useful gift, "I remember Elrohir and Elnara using that ability, well I've seen plently coming from Elnara."

Now that he thought about it, until Elnara came along there were no firecaster in his family neither, more because no one had a wish to. Well he heard rumours that Donovan's father was a fire mage, but Donovan didn't seem to get along with his dad all that well.

Gion's look hardened, and he gazed at Donovan seriously.

She's not going without me, he signed matter-of-factly. And I would assume that you would want to be the other one to come, considering how professional you are. But you are right, Nadya would be a good choice: even if she can't speak any other languages, she can use thought to converse with them. And I know their languages, so I'll be able to tell if they're trying to hide something from us.

He folded his arms and waited for Donovan's reply.

Nadya nodded at Triton. "Yes ... I saw ... something of that fight. I'm glad you all came out unscathed, I have to admit I was worried ..."

She caught sight of Mia sitting out by the rain, and her expression grew concerned.

"Will she be all right?" she asked Triton anxiously, softly. "She looks ... I'm not sure if it's annoyed or uncomfortable ..."

"I figured that," Donovan muttered as he thought about it, he would rather be the one to go, he didn't like to hear things as hearsay and he would already be doing so because he had to learn it through Gion and Nadya, "Yea, I would rather be the one to go," he admitted, "So it sounds like it would work that way."

Besides of Gion, in an odd way they would have four minds instead of three. Daemon he was told was sharp as a person, even though he didn't know what when through the man's head.

"Probably the former," Triton turned his gaze towards the little girl who was watching the rain fall, "Mia rarely becomes uncomfortable, she actually doesn't really feel heat or cold like other people, but she's not use to travelling like this. I mean, without the usual things like she has back home."

Even though Mia had travelled like this one, with their mother, but to be fair Mia was fully, and for all purposes a doll, she had no opinion on anything before.

Gion nodded, satisfied.

Then we should rest while we can, he signed. Daemon can watch for us, so all of us can get a good night's sleep.

He paused for a moment, listening to the rain and the thunder that surrounded them.

If the weather lets us, he amended with a sigh.

"Are any of us used to this?" Nadya asked softly, leaning against Gion a bit. "You've traveled a bit, and you're not, and I'm sure even Donovan can't be comfortable."

She didn't know about Yue, though she could sense a sort of longing in him. What for, she wasn't sure.

"He might not be comfortable, but he's probably use to it," Triton mused quietly, "He's travelled with Mom enough, and she always travelled on foot."

She didn't know how to drive and didn't like driving and most places she went do couldn't have a car anyhow.

"And who knows where he has been before settling down."

Did Triton really want to know about that?

Donovan looked out into the cold, it was going to be a damp on he figured.

"Well... just burrow into something warm and cover yourself with something that keeps the water from soaking in and we'll relatively be sleeping well."
