"I haven't had much chance nor cause to leave it in some time. In fact, I'm probably here more to see what has and hasn't changed more than to enjoy myself. Besides, said fish bowl affords me a comfortable amount of secrecy; I'm sure you know what I'm talking about it." Than's response to the 'fact' was more neutral than anything else, but he had responded with his own commentary. It was likely, given Mastema's observational satellites and past experience, that Than knew more about the 'mysterious events' around Twice Royal than some other attendees, including that Tegral had royally wiped the floor with the prince, all puns intended. "Besides, it's the only place where my mother, my brothers, and my sister can be safe thanks to all the brawn heads out here, and that includes your mother." Kaiori was only one of the many who had attacked the citadel, more or less out of spite for Mastema and lack of regard for anyone else inside. To them it was a secretive base of Mastema's operations, while to those inside it was more of a home. Even Mastema's generals rarely saw action. "However, it's gotten to a point where I'm tired of it, both of the citadel and of the situation necessitating its obscure nature... thus, I think I'm going to try to change that situation one little bit at a time."

A small smirk would appear on The Count's face as those who were interested, joinned him at the door. It appeared three stray sheep had wandered ahead of the flock. Curiosity was a wonderful thing, but dangerous at times aswell. Luckily this was one of the wonderful times indeed. "It appears as if we were not quick enough to quell your curiosity. Come, lets be off to outside, I am certain you will enjoy this." Tegral was correct, the men from before had been taking fireworks outside. If the inhabitants of the region could not enjoy something as simple as fireworks, then things were worse off than one might imagine. Taking pleasure in the little things, that is where things should be. When one could enjoy the simple pleasures, they were better for it.

*Nana couldn't help but blush, she was like a child that had been caught trying to see their christmas presents, or something similar. If Nana and Bell had waited just a little longer-- well they wouldn't have been caught where they were by the host and all that followed. But could you blame them? Men rolling carts and strange looking items out to the front of the building, all one could do was to wonder. Bell could continue to accompany Nana if she wished, though once Mastema was in sight she would probably join up with him again. Had Bell ever met Mastema before? One might wonder what would happen if Nana invited Bell and her brother to the Citadel. Mastema would have to act civil compaired to Griffin's past memories of him from Kaiori? Well, wouldn't that be amusing*

Tegral, particularly this model, wasn't what one would, or even should, call a sheep. Standing around six and a half feet tall, with shoulders and arms made to fit a black smith, the Admiral's initial profile was something to be wary of. The fact he was a cybernetically designed weapon capable of decimating a small army without trying very hard utilizing weapons of technological superiority to anything found within the Black Company - with the exception of the arsenal provided to KB by the Admiral himself. Glancing first at the women then at the man who'd approached them, Tegral said not a word. With the primary of his attention focused on the 'Particle Transference' research being performed in one of the Admiral's hidden workshops - another gift from KB, though likely the psychopath didn't even know they existed let alone where to find them - he really didn't spare much in the way of wit and conversation to a simple combat chassis.

Unexcited by the potential of fireworks the Admiral followed none the less, if he wanted to see explosions of colorful lights he'd launch another attack on the Cradle and let the massive batteries on board his fleet make a light show visible even down here on the planet. Something to make the Admiral more deadly...leaving the sanctity of Seven Hells Temple the people of the Black Company were once again putting themselves at risk against one another. The 'no weapons and no magic' rule applied no longer, a fact that wasn't over looked by the Admiral as his weapon systems came back online to full combat level. Whether or not the Count had any means of detecting this, the Admiral's body and mannerisms the exact same as they had been moments before, was unknown, but the likelihood of him being able to do anything wasn't too threatening.

*Griffin’s eyes would visibly darken, but now he had Bell in his sights and felt slightly more at ease.* From what I’ve seen, you can hardly blame my mother for her actions. You did so little to stop or help her it’s a wonder why you think you have the right to judge her. I could care less for the past, but don’t think insulting my mother will go unnoticed. I could easily call yours a betrayer of God, one who succumbed to the devil and your father a monster who deserves to be splattered out of existence and their children the spawn of Satan, but what would I gain from any of that really. *He bows slightly to excuse himself and briskly walks over to Bell, who was still hiding behind Nana.*

*Bell feels a strong hand grasp her own; it was shaking with stress, fear, and anger. When Griffin talked business he would often come to her like this, shaking with emotions held back. She guessed he only felt totally safe with her, only she and her mother got to see this side of him, the side that was very much just a little boy. She holds the shaking hand tightly looking up at the looming figure behind her.* We can go now if you like?

*Griffin nods his head and his whole body seems to relax.* I’ve caused trouble, it might be for the best that we go.

You're leaving? It was a pleasure to meet you. Perhaps again some time.

*Nana couldn't help but overhear the conversation, being that Bell was so close and all. If Nana had heard what Griffin thought of her, she'd no doubt be hurt, and deeply wounded over Griffin's view of the children as well. They had done nothing to warrent such words of distaste, they had committed no crimes, they simply were. If they met again, hopefully it would be on good terms, much as now as any a time. Smiling lightly Nana would part ways with the twins, leaving them be and wandering back slowly to Mastema's side*

With departures not far away, The Count would nod to the men off to the side of the stairs. It was their queue to start lighting up the fireworks. Once it was all over, the guests would be free to pick up their weapons before heading off. Those who decided to stay a while longer could just go back inside. A few moments later the first firework whizzed off into the sky with a scream, exploding seconds later in bright hues of blue, red, and yellow. There would be a veritable rainbow of colors, shapes, and patterns for the next several minutes, for the enjoyment of all present.

"From what you've seen..." Than uttered to himself as Griffin moved away with an improper departure. At the very least, the brief and somewhat hostile conversation confirmed three valuable facts about Griffin to Thanatos, and that was enough justification for the rudeness on both parties's part as far as Than was concerned. Turning back to the display, which he obviously couldn't fully appreciate, Than muttered to himself again, bemused. "That was unbiased observation? Hate to see the guy when he's prejudiced." Slowly, energy began to collect in Than's upper body.

It wouldn't take more than a second for Nana to find Mas's arm around her waist again when she returned to his side. "I'd say you made a new friend." Again, it wasn't known if Mastema had overheard Griffin's less than favorable testimony. The former bane on the Black Company's existence seemed more interested in the food tonight than the party attendees, having only spoken briefly to the former attacker of his citadel, which was an agreeable conversation. If only it was as easy to patch things up like that with Kaiori.

Twi whistled in admiration at the light show going on, still holding onto a paper cup of punch from inside the party. "That ain't half bad for something made on the spot."

"It beats what one would expect, huh?"

"Holy @#$%!" Twi squashed his cup in his hand, sending punch covering his arm as he turned around to face the tall, armored man named Val. "Dammit, lugnut.. don't do that! You're supposed to announce your arrival to your higher ups."

Val grinned and crossed his arms, neither smug nor ashamed, simply acceptant. "Aye, sir."

Twi grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose and pointing to the packaging the Count had assembled. "That's your shipment. Pick it up when the show's over."

"That one looks like he's ready to go at it." Val commented about something other than the packages, and both he and Twilight turned in Than's direction.

By now, Than's right hand was glowing with a soft but strong golden light as he poised himself in a slightly crouched position with one foot forward from the other. "Kurasugiru~~" He was almost singing the foreign word before he pushed himself up with his legs, jumping a mere few inches off the ground and throwing his right arm up. The golden energy was let loose, streaming into the air as a precision rocket, before disseminating near the height of its path. The first collection of energy branched off in to five more gatherings, which each separated into five more balls of light, until the entire firework covered sky was lit up in the soft, gold light. Aside from making its own effect, the gold light would only have amplifying effects on the light of the fireworks, adding more to their display. Than wasn't trying to show up the Count so much as add his own contribution to the appreciative show. After all, he had very much to owe the Count for allowing him to gather the information he had tonight.

The KB's would observe the spectacle dispassionately and drunkenly, respectively. The Count spared no expense in his hospitality. This was well-received by most everyone. Given that things had gone off without any limbs flying around, one could dare to use the word 'success'.

Tegral watched the light show, unimpressed with the vibrant hues of colors that showered the night skies, before Thanatos suddenly began charging his own energy. What the Admiral didn't know was the boy's desire to add to the show's play, so unknowingly the cybernetic war machine turned and attained a lock. Plasma driven energy, pushed through a stasis sphere and into an induction coil, gathered in the reserve chamber located somewhere around mid-forearm while the Admiral's fully tuned combat sensors acquired a lock and probed Than's body with sensors. Energy readings filtered through the corner of the unit's HUD - the ability to read and distinguish various types of magic and 'energy' was a new trait, one that was mastered through the introduction of KB's arcane generator. Defensive protocol whirled into action, an unseen barrier engulfing the Admiral's body as trajectory and velocity of the attack was attained. All data concluded the attack would not place this unit in any sort of danger, but the lock remained.

KB's entrance to the spectacle almost made the Admiral shift targets and let loose a violent stream of plasmic energy, capable enough to shred KB's shell to a burning husk of it's once former glory. Instead he let the energy dissipate, the lock remain, and added KB's form to the list of potential targets, and started over towards the Count. Maybe a minute to talk business would alleviate the Admiral's suddenly hostile mood. Maybe the feed back circuits from Tegral's body were causing sudden spikes of hostility? Or maybe this unit's primary function wasn't being utilized to it's full extent and the AI system in charge of maintaining a 'civil' atmosphere was breaking down.

All those trains of thoughts were too philosophical for the Admiral, who decided to let well enough alone.

That would have an odd kind of reading for Than, since it wasn't a common kind to find. This was more than likely to do with the lad's more human than angel make up, and virtually no pure humans ever displayed any kind of significantly powerful aura. For that reason, Tegral might have something new to analyze if he could, although Than's aura was slightly anamolous in showing what it was that distinguished the partyly human aura from anything else.

While his energy permeated the sky, the charge in Than's body would die down again, and he turned his head in the direction of the admiral, a small but visible and upward curve on the left side of his mouth. Raising his left arm, he folded three of his fingers and formed his thumb and index finger into an 'L,' vaguely making his hand resemble the form of a gun and pointing his index finger at the admiral. Silently mouthing the word 'pow,' he softly jerked his left hand up, as if having fired a gun, before returning it to his side and looking back to the sky. Without sight, there were several ways Than had learned to pick up on things around him, and the admiral's arming of his systems was probably one of them. There seemed to be no end to what Than wouldn't taunt tonight.

^//^

Perhaps yes.

*One of Mastema's arms would be clung to lightly, as Nana wrapped an arm around his, then held a small bit of Mastema's sleev between her thumb and index finger. After that all that was left, was to look up into the night sky, rest her head lightly on Mastema's arm and enjoy the visual display of fireworks. After that if the trio decided to go home, Nana couldn't complain. Her children awaited her back home, and that was pleanty enough reason to head back. Perhaps when she went to pick them up, then Nana would also see the latest-- intruder of sorts*

Tegral merely stared at Than, what with his pathetic attempt at provoking the Admiral, before shrugging as if to say, 'What can you expect? We all want each other dead, most of us want you dead anyways.' With a small smile curling the corners of the Admiral's lips he turned once more to the firework display and resisted the urge to add his own contribution to the little show. After all there was an eerie beauty to the way a thermal energy beam lanced against the night skies, more so with the crackling sound of energy displacing air, it's cherry red glow producing a bar thicker than a small car. Had he ordered it the beagle-class assault shuttle could have stuttered the beam and created a laser show of sorts, but alas this was the Count's party and frankly Tegral wasn't willing to expend the effort of minimizing the weapon's frequency so it didn't ignite the oxygen around the few remaining party goers.

Gradually the Admiral's gaze drifted downwards, towards Nana. Questions aplenty he had for the woman, though he wasn't likely to get any answers for any of them any time soon. He could try asking Mastema, maybe after the party simply stop by and knock on the Citadel's barrier in much the same fashion as he had with Kaiori's - though instead of using little auto cannons he'd aim for something larger, like, say, a B.G. 41's main cannon- but something told him that Mastema would be even less helpful than his fearful wife. All the same he had a couple of questions, the very answers may aid in the ultimate destruction of KB, for the strange couple. With no real desire to watch the light show, as he made point of earlier the battle between star ships out classed this little spectacle in every way, shape, and form, he let his targeting gaze leap from the back of Nana's head to Mastema's. No doubt Mastema would 'feel' something, or simply know the Admiral was hovering a cross hair over his wife's head - or something along those lines anyways. Not that it mattered anyways, with enough fire power to decimate a small army Tegral could have ended the woman's life easy enough when he had her and Bell alone earlier.

*Griffin would stand with his sister, since she was obviously enthralled by the colorful to display. Finally, once Bell was able to focus, the royal family would make a brief bow to the general public. Griffin simply brings up his wrist and yanks his cufflink away from his silver watch. He turns a few buttons and a familiar crackling rings out quickly. In a puff of purple smoke the royal duo would disappear back to their silvery tower, back to work.*

After another minute or two the firework display would come to a close, signaling the time for most to head home. This party could be considered a success story. No one died, trouble was kept to a minimum, both The Count and the guests got to mingle and everyone could take a minute to review everyone else. Potential enemies, allies, neutral parties, and for some it appeared to be a productive singles night, having headed off with a party they did not arrive with in the beginning. The Count could gauge the guests as well, and see whom he might like to have future relations with as far as business goes. There was even a mysterious third party, requesting old documents, something to remember for a later time perhaps. All in all, yes a success story of a party.
