Do you think, GW would at all approve of any book series or anything that advance the time frame past where the game is? Like, maybe deal with the Imperium crumbling, or have it re-unified or something similar?

Not any time soon. The novels mostly deal with the past thankfully. 10k is an awful span of time with plenty of open spots.
