JLA: Obsidian Age. JLA travels thousands of years into the past and get slaughtered. Plas gets separated into thousands of tiny pieces and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Back in the present day, once everything is hunky-dory, they find all the pieces and put him back together again... so to speak. Turns out, he was alive the whole time. domokun
