Oh, but Decruda didnt need to consciously think about pricking the woman. All he had to do was come into physical contact with her, and aside from that, it was to play the role of a travelling peddler. All the woman would find out from her prying would be that he was certainly not a real merchant. And as for the costume? The veil was mainly to cover his face, hide his eyes, disguised in the form of protecting a traveller from the harsh conditions of the environment.
"Its just a habit of mine, to know the names of my customers." the peddler shrugged as he hop onto the animal and began to continue along his way.
"Good doing business with you." his lis would crack into a wry smile.

"Hold it. You're not being completely honest with me, sir." Alex wasn't about to let the man get away so easily. Not a real merchant, hmm? Then what was he doing? "You're no merchant, that's clear enough. So, what are you doing out here peddling those wares?" There was something she had picked up about his costume, something about the veil covering his eyes, but she would leave that information alone for now, perhaps it might come in handy later.

He wouldnt stop, letting the camel move along at it's own casual pace as he simply rode it on. Just because someone tells him to stop doesnt mean he would, and he certainly didnt have to answer her questions either.
"Perhaps you should go along your way before you run into trouble, madame." Decruda said in his normal voice, no longer acting as he continued to move. There was no point, it seemed that the woman had somehow seen through his disguise.
"If you keep digging, you'll quickly find that all you've done was dig your own grave." Let those words sink in. He reached into his robes with his left hand while his back was turned to the woman as the animal moved onwards.

For just a brief moment, Alex hesitated to do anything, something in the man's voice and his words said that she may very well regret poking her nose futher into the business. But she couldn't just let him walk away, there was something very wrong with the entire situation.
Alexiel urged her horse on and the animal bolted forward, past the man and his camel. Turning the horse sharply, the beast and his rider came to a halt a few yards in front of the stranger. "If I'm digging my grave, then so be it... but you're not leaving till I either find out what you're up to or you put me in that grave."

Should have taken that warning. As soon as she had moved in front of the peddler, his right arm shot straight forward as if to throw a straight punch. However, being on top of a camel, and without anyone really there in front of him, it was sort of pointless. Pointless until the point where his left arm, already within the folds of his robes would swing out, his hand following along the path of the straight arm as the robes were pulled off by the right arm violently and burst into flame. And from the flaming clothing which flew forth, a straight bolt of lightning shot forth between the two figures, and considering the distance between one and the other, would strike just as the woman had turned her horse. Lightning Bolt Upon casting this spell, the wizard releases a powerful stroke of electrical energy to each creature within its area of effect. The lightning bolt may set fire to combustibles, sunder wooden doors, splinter up to a half-foot thickness of stone, and melt metals with a low melting point (lead, gold, copper, silver, bronze). If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt continues. A bolt can breach 1 inch of wood or half an inch of stone per caster level, up to a maximum of 1 foot of wood or half a foot of stone. The lightning bolt's area of effect is chosen by the spellcaster: either a forked bolt 10 feet wide and 40 feet long or a single bolt 5 feet wide and 80 feet long. If a bolt cannot reach its full length, because of an unyielding barrier (such as a stone wall), the lightning bolt rebounds from the barrier toward its caster, ending only when it reaches its full length. The material components of the spell are a bit of fur and an amber, crystal, or glass rod. What did Decruda have in his left hand as it peeled away from his right arm? His glass dagger. And his entire right arm was covered in a tight fitting sleeve of bristling fur. All he had to do was focus some energy and brush the spell components together as a bolt of electricity would lash out from the dagger as it left the fur and ignite the robes which were flung off at the same time. The bristling fur of the sleeve would stand vertical against the static in the area as Decruda took a breath of the air which smelled of ozone and possibly charred flesh.

The crackling of the electrical energy and the smell of ozone alerted both Alexiel and the horse to the incoming attack. As the horse turned, she snapped back on the reins hard, causing the beast to rear up on it's hind legs. There was a scream from the horse as the bolt him, rather than his rider.
The bolt of lightning threw the horse off balance, and the beast toppled onto its side. It might have landed on Alex if she hadn't pulled a move that was similar to one she had done before. On one occaision Alex had been forced to use her telekenesis to support the weight of a mount to keep it from crushing her. This time she wouldn't need to support the mount. It wouldnt' take much effort as the mount and rider fell for her to shift the sand every so slightly
When the horse did hit the ground, it landed on top of Alexiel's right leg, but she remained unscathed as she had fallen into a nice little hole that provided just enough room to keep her leg from being crushed.

The man clicked his tongue twice and the camel began to move once again, going around the charred corpse of horse. Nobody ever takes the warning do they? Well, things like this always happened.
His right hand rested against the hilt of his scimitar at his left hip as he rode on past the woman. A surge of power and flash like that in the middle of the desert may alert anyone nearby, and he'd rather not have to answer questions and probably waste time killing some other person in the process.

Alexiel wasn't sure what to do. The man clearly had power and she wasn't sure she could defend herself in a fight against him but she couldn't just let him walk away without finding out what was going on. The man was up to something and Alex knew it wasn't good. It would go completely against her character to just let him do whatever it was he was planning. However, if she continued, it might be the last she did. She had no choice.
"Stop..." Alex grunted as she started to pull herself from beneath the horse's carcass. "I'm not done yet." She couldn't expend too much energy at the start of a battle, she needed something subtle that would stop him without expending too much of her strength. She would infiltrate the mind of the camel this time and force the beast to stop in its tracks. It wouldn't be too difficult, the animal wasn't anywhere near human intelligence and as such, his mental prowess would be weaker than hers. This time Alex would also be preparing for any attack that he would throw in her direction. She was no longer mounted and much more capable of dodging.

Certainly the man didnt have to stop for anyone, however, he didnt, and instead the camel stopped.
Decruda clicked his tongue to urge it on, he kicked it's flanks, and he even whipped the bridal. It didnt move. He snarled and grunted as in one swift motion, he drew the scimitar and slashed opened the camel's neck in one fine motion, releasing a fine spray of crimson as he swung a leg over the animal as it would crumble to the sand, dead.
"What a bother." he hissed as he turned around to face the woman. His inverted eyes would concentrate around her as he began to whisper archaic words which sounded as a snake hisses as his left hand reached around his back into one of the small pouches lining his belt.

Alexiel wasn't about to wait for him to complete whatever it was he was doing. With a wave of her left hand to focus and direct her attack, the sand a few feet in front of the man would be kicked up as if blown by a gust of wind and it would be aimed right for those inverted eyes.
At the same moment that she was doing that, she was also pulling out the dirk the rested at her left side with her right hand. A quick flick of the wrist moments after the line of sand was thrown, would send the dirk flying at the man's right shoulder. She was aiming to injure, not kill.

His right arm went up around his eyes as he hissed, words coming to a halt. And as he rubbed them out, he felt a small amount of pain tear into his arm for a brief moment. His right arm hung at his side as he took the scimitar in his left hand, leaving the weapon stuck in his shoulder as he paced towards her.
It seemed that things were going to get physical.

Well things were not going as planned. Alexiel reached to retrieve the dirk from her right side and then raised her free hand, aiming it at the dirk that was embedded in the man's shoulder. Mentally, she would pull the dirk from his shoulder and back to her.

With a spurt of blood following the weapon's exit of flesh, Decruda growled.
"I wish I am able to cast my prepared spells with but a thought." he grumbled, perhaps in thought, as he rushed the woman, swinging the scimitar in an upwards slash from his lower left to upper right.
His right hand would bend and hold at his waist, as if to perform a second action.

Alexiel didn't respond to his griveance, instead focusing on what he was doing. As the sword came at her, she moved back to get out of it's reach. She wasn't about to try and catch the sword with her dirks and leave her right side exposed. No, she wanted to see what he was going to do with his other hand.

The woman probably should have payed attention to his words, because like so many of his other actions, they were not idle words. Limited Wish The limited wish is a very potent but difficult spell. It will fulfill literally, but only partially or for a limited duration, the utterance of the spellcaster. Thus, the actuality of the past, present, or future might be altered (but possibly only for the wizard unless the wording of the spell is most carefully stated) in some limited manner. The use of a limited wish will not substantially change major realities, nor will it bring wealth or experience merely by asking. The spell can, for example, restore some health lost by the wizard. It can reduce opponent hit probabilities or damage, increase duration of some magical effect, cause a creature to be favorably disposed to the spellcaster, or mimic a spell of 7th level or less. Greedy desires usually end in disaster for the wisher. Casting time is based on the time spent preparing the wording for the spell (clever wizardss decide what they want to say before using the spell). Casting this spell ages the caster one year per 100 years of regular life span His wish may only be temporary, but that was clearly not a problem as it would last long enough to deal with the woman. And for the cost of one year of his life, he really didnt care. As the blade went swishing by air to his upper right, his grip would slacken as he would flick his wrist to toss the weapon into his right hand by his waist. And in the same motion, his right hand would snap up to snatch the hilt of the scimitar while lashing out to cut her across the belly with its tip as he moved forward.
