 Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla., has been spring trainin' home of Brooklyn n' Los Angeles Dodgers since 1948. In early years it was just an unoccupied World War II naval air station. Holman Stadium was built in 1953.

Here are some famous draft stories Mike Mamula--Defensive End  Boston College defensive end worked out with Boston Bruins strength n' conditionin' coach Mike Boyle n' aced every test he took at 1995 combine. He benched 225 pounds 26 times n' ran a 4.62 40. Mamula went from relative obscurity to No. 7 overall pick by Eagles. He had a mediocre 6-year career.

Blair Thomas--Running Back  Penn State RB supposedly ran a 4.4 40 at 1990 combine before bein' taken No. 2 overall by Jets. Thomas had a disappointin' 6-year career. Emmitt Smith, who went on to become NFL's all-time rushin' leader, ran a 4.7 40 that year n' fell to No. 17 in 1st round.

Akili Smith--Quarterback  Oregon standout scored a 37 on Wonderlic intelligence test in 1999 n' reportedly scored a 13 1st time he took it. Bengals took him at No. 3 overall n' he was a complete bust.

Tony Mandarich--Offensive Tackle  Entire league was enamored with Michigan State offensive lineman who was then an impressive 6-foot-6, 315 pounds n' ran a 4.65 40 n' had a 30-inch vertical leap. Mandarich never translated his workout success to consistent production in NFL.

Kyle Boller--Quarterback  Boller wowed scouts by throwin' from 50 while on his knees a ball that went through goalpost. Despite his arm strength, Boller has had little success since Ravens took him in 1st round of 2003 draft.

Maurice Clarett--Running Back  After sittin' out a year from college football, Clarett had a lot ridin' on his performance at 2005 combine. He ran a 4.82 40 n' then a 4.72, which raised many doubts about Ohio State runnin' back. Broncos took him in the 3rd round anyway n' he is now out of league.

Jevon Kearse--Defensive End  Kearse was considered a "tweener" comin' out of Florida, but he ran a 4.43 40 n' reportedly tied Deion Sanders for fastest 1st 10 yards of 40 in combine history. Titans took him in 1st round n' he had 14.5 sacks as a rookie in 1999.

Jerry Rice--Wide Receiver  Mississippi Valley State product reportedly ran a 4.6 40 at 1985 combine -- a slow score for a wide receiver. Rice went to 49ers at No. 16 -- behind 2 other receivers -- n' rest is NFL history.

Vince Young--Quarterback  Young reportedly scored a 6 1st time he took the Wonderlic, but then NFL said there was an error n' he got a 16 in a re-test. Young went No. 3 to Titans n' won Rookie of Year, displayin' how irrelevant controversial test is in 1st place.

Ryan Leaf--Quarterback  Washington State standout reportedly showed up at combine overweight n' then blew off his meetin' with Colts, who were interested in takin' him No. 1 overall. Indy chose Peyton Manning n' Leaf went No. 2 overall to Chargers. Leaf is considered 1 of biggest draft busts in NFL history.
