Navalie threw up her hands and she shrugged. "Looks like this fight is dead and over. See ya later!" she stated and she put her long sleeve shirt back on over her tank top and she waved good bye and she ran out of the plateau to go train somewheres else.

[[day 1 of Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique) ]] [[DC:15 or above. - 5 per day]]
Roy was out and about rather late this night. He couldn't sleep and found himself in the platue. He had snatched another book from the schools library on basic jutsu and figured he'd do some late night practicing while no one was around. This was actually more or less a way for him to relieve some stress. He was getting so annoyed with his othe jutsu. The one with no name. He was having pretty bad luck with it and figured he do some research on some things that might help but that was later. Now, he wanted to get some training done on a jutsu that was already created. The book he had was a list of all the basic Rank D jutsus that a gennin could learn. Among them he found one that would be useful albiet a bit overused. It was the Shunshin no Jutsu or the body flicker ability. He remembered seeing people like Gig and Kinami do something like what was described in the book. It was definatly something to look into and as a ninja of any caliber, he needed to move as quickly as possible. So, to start off, he began by moving his chakra to his feet. He had already mastered the wall walking technique so maintining his chakra in his feet was no problem. He just wanted to make sure he could fluctuate and keep it going.

[[ok, that roll was strickly for formality sakes. I got a chakra control of 50 for cryin out loud]] His chakra was moving just the way he wished it too. He figured it would. He had done so many chakra control checks with the jutsu he was working on that he'd have been sorly pissed if the chakra within him didn't move the way he wanted it too. He sighed slightly and looked up to the sky a bit. He then cracked the book again and began to read the description of how the jutsu is to be done. Quote: The Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique) is a technique usually known by shinobi over the rank of Genin in any self respecting village. It is usally used as a means to travel from one point to another far faster than any normal means of transport but it can also have applicable useages in battle. That is discused latter. In this chapter, the heart of the jutsu is explained. This jutsu uses the chakra of the user to enhance the muscles in their legs and increase their speed by a ratio of how much chakra and natural strength they already posses in their legs. The chakra is distributed evenly amonst the legs and pushed out at the point of contact (the feet) when pushing off the ground. Masters of this art can go dozens of yards before needing ot set down again for another bounce off. Roy read a bit more on the actual workings of the chakra distribution system. [[2]]

[[5+20(research skill) = pass for easy level book]]
The current aspects of the book were pretty easily understood. he closed the book and looked up for a moment and over the horizon. It was pitch black and it owuld be hard to do this jutsu just right but he knew he had to at least try it. As for now, it would be just a straight path. He remembered teh path he took to get to the point he was at and that would be the path he used to test this jutsu on. The chakra flowed freely through his system as he forced a molded amount to his legs. He felt his legs pulsate to life with new energy and soon he tucked down into a dashing stance. A breze picke dup and blew past him and soon he took off as the book had instructed him to do.

Of course, this was still a platue no matter how you looked at it. There were still unforseen marks upon the ground and one of these, an indent Roy had wlaked over earlier, was right in his path. As he tried to shoot off, he got caught in the indent and fell flat on his face. He caught himself to stop any injury but was still laid on the ground. He sprung back up. Thoughts of his failures earlier began to flow into his mind but he wouldn't let them. He couldn't let them. He was going to do this jutsu if it was the last thing he ever did. He knew he wouldn't master it in a day but he was going to do it dammit. A sigh came from him as he set his feet back into a solid position. Looking ahead, he got ready to perform the jutsu againa nd shot off.

He heard a sound just before taking off but it was already too late. The sound was that of a larger stone rolling into his path. The breeze from before had moved it about and he came across it and fell. It caused him to go into a roll and slowly come up after teh final one. He was having a really rough day and wondered how much more could he take. He jus wasn't into all this failure but he still had to get up. A few more times, win or loss and he'd feel he deserved a nice hot bath and bed. Dusting himself off, he moved back into position and moved his chakra through himself down to his legs. Once there, he pushed off hard and fast.

[[pass]]
A bit wobbly, definatly could use some work but he had done it. He took off from his original point and shot from one point to another. It was an exillerating feeling. He was definatly having a great time now. The wind was blowing across his face and jacket and he felt almost like he was flying. He made a full circle around the platue and came back although he had to slow down a bit sometimes to catch the proper footing. This was a good step in the right direction. He stood stillf or a moment and began to rest. It took a bit out of him to move that fast for the first time. A smile crossed his lips as he rested but soon he was at it again with another attmpt.

[[utter failure]]
This time, he didn't even get off from the word go. He began to step but had forgotten to apply his chakra because he was so ready to do it again. He tripped instantly and hit the ground hard. Rolling a bit, he laid there for a long moment. This wasn't his day at all. He got back up, however, and dusted his jacket off. After that, he applied his chakra again and began to focus on his path. He was going to take the one he knew he could, the one from before, and with that path in mind, he tried it again.

[[OH COME ON!!! damn dice]]
It would probably have helped if Roy had checked his shoes after that last fall. They had come undone a bit and just as soon as he tried to take off, he was falling again, flat on his face. he frustration was almost too much for him. He sprang up and simply kicked his shoe away. He forced his chakra down to his feet in a fit of rage and began to take off again.

He had done it. Again, it was rather rough and completly annoying to do but he had done it. he dashed around the platue a little bit before coming back to collect his things. he was definatly likeing the jutsu, just not his day's work on anything. Today, jsut wasn't his day.

[[Day 7 Training]] [[DC: 10 for easy book reading]] Another raid, another payday of information. Roy had raided the academy's library again. This time for rather generic information. This was on the composition of stones and rocks. Roy had finally come to a realization that rocks were going to be the easiest thing for him to find in abundent masses and that would make these the most likly candidates for his jutsu. He was finally coming into his own mind about a proper use for this jutsu but there were still somce kinks to get out of it. There wasn't anything he could really do as of right now except for learn more about the subjet mater. As a strategist, he found it quite enjoyable to learn more and more things about different useful subjects, even some trivial knowledge could prove to be very useful sometimes. He looked a bit through the book before finding the beginning and starting to skim through it. Quote: What Types of Rock Are There? There are three different types of rock: Igneous Rock is formed when a magma cools underground and crystallizes or when it erupts unto the surface of the ground, cools and crystallizes. Magma that erupts onto the surface is called lava. When magma cools slowly underground the crystals are large enough to see. When it cools quickly on the surface, the crystals are very small and you would need a magnifier or a microscope to see them. Sometimes, when the magma cools very quickly, it forms a kind of black glass that you cannot see through. Sedimentary Rock forms from particles, called sediment, that are worn off other rocks. The particles are sand, silt, and clay. Sand has the largest particles while clay has the smallest. If there are a lot of pebbles mixed with the sand, it is called gravel. The sediment gets turned into rock by being buried and compacted by pressure from the weight above it. Another way it becomes rock is from being cemented together by material that has been dissolved in water. Often, both cementing and compaction take place together. Metamorphic Rock is formed by great heat, or pressure, or both. The pressure can come from being buried very deep in the earth's crust, or from the huge plates of the earth's crust pushing against each other. The deeper below the surface of the earth, the higher the temperature, so deep burial also means high temperatures. Another way that high temperatures occur is when magma rises through the earth's upper crust. It is very hot and bakes the rock through which it moves. Hot liquids or gases from the magma also can cause chemical changes in the rock around the magma. [[1]]

[[8+20(research skill)=28>15 pass]] Roy hadn't know that much about rocks or that they were constructed ins uch different ways. He always figured all rocks were made just using pressure but different objects, not different methods all together. This was definatly something he needed to know but it was good to know. The different compositions and making patterns for the rocks would obviously alter the composition and density of the stones innerds. He knew this and he wanted to make sure he found that out, found out how they differed but the very next chapter he read was based on the material within stones. Basically, what made it up and he was very intrested in this chapter. Quote: What Minerals Form Rocks? The list of minerals that commonly form rocks is short. With a little practice you will recognize most of them when you see them. Descriptions of some of the minerals, as they look in rocks, follow: Quartz: Quartz is the last mineral to crystallize, so in igneous rocks it never has any definite shape. In rocks, it does not show flat faces. It is usually gray in igneous rocks; gray, white, yellow, or red in sedimentary rocks; and gray or white in metamorphic rocks. It has a glassy, or sometimes waxy, look to it. Potassic Feldspars*: (microcline, orthoclase) Potassic feldspars are pink or tan, sometimes white. They show flat, shiny faces in igneous rocks. The crystal grains are usually blocky and nearly rectangular. They look like good china. Plagioclase Feldspars*: (albite, labradorite) Look like the potassic feldspars, except they are white to dark gray, sometimes black. They may show flashes of blue or green. Micas*: (muscovite, biotite, phlogopite) Micas have very thin layers that peel off (or cleave) very easily. In rocks they are usually flakes or layers of flakes. Muscovite is silvery to brown; biotite is black; phlogopite is a reddish brown. Phlogopite may be found in marble. Chlorite*: Like mica, but the flakes are usually not as thin and do not peel apart as easily. The color is medium to dark green, sometimes almost black but with a greenish tint. Hornblende: Hornblende is dark green to black. It shows nearly flat, shiny faces in almost rectangular or long thin needle like crystals in rock. Hornblende is usually found in dark colored metamorphic rocks; sometimes in igneous rocks. Actinolite and Tremolite: Actinolite and tremolite are usually in long thin blades or needle like crystals. Actinolite is dark green; tremolite is white to gray. The crystals may be parallel to each other, or spread from a point. Actinolite is usually found in schists or gneisses. Tremolite may be found in marble. Olivine*: Olivine in rocks is an olive green to greenish yellow. In rocks it is in rounded grains. If there is much of it, it is almost sugary. It is found mostly in dark colored igneous rocks. Calcite and Dolomite: The color is usually white, but can be other colors when impure. Crystal grains show flat shiny faces, often shaped like parallelograms. Calcite and dolomite are both soft. They are easily scratched with a steel point. Powdered calcite will fizz in white vinegar; dolomite will not. The minerals are found in limestone or dolostone ( the rock is dolostone, the mineral is dolomite) and marble. [2]
