The best rulesets are still limited. Adhere to them too strictly and you're restrict or limit things pointlessly, or miss things that are truly and wantonly abusive.
That's why I like judge systems even if people act like being a judge is the equivalent of being chosen to serve in war.
Interpretation of that ruleset can be applied. Context can be the guiding factor.
Because if you claim the rules are the end all be all, then you of course have people who make their characters [restriction element] - 1 in everything and toe the rules, instead of following the thought process behind why the rules are even there to begin with to make decent fights for their opponents.
I thank Tres, crazy wrestling addicted Nazi though he is, for giving me the opportunity to fight where apparently I'd not gotten one otherwise this round. But, before that even gets underway, I want to point out that it's very depressing no matter how long or brief that fight ends up being, it's probably going to be worlds more entertaining than about all but two of the other matches on the current roster-
And we're ******** facing off SSJ Hank Hill and Bizarro Tresondros Steve Austin.
I think, some people here are missing the point. Not to this tournament or to combat mechanics, but to the very purpose of roleplaying.
Don't assume that's not you. Assume it is you. [combs back hair] wawwww

Colonel Iyam A Heita I see a lot of you have been severely damaged over the years. Who hurt you boo? ...Who hurt you?I see so many of you have adapted a fighting style that protects you OOCly basing your actions and how you write on the possibility of your opponent dicking you over. I have been tainted by this. For me, how I play is 100% on how I trust my opponent or at least what I know of my opponent. Like. For example, against Ertai. I know if I make a mistake he will kill me. The fight will likely be really fast, very technical, with me trying to jazz it up as much as I can without getting slaughtered. If I was fighting Twitch or You, while I know that if I present a tactical error you will take advantage, I don't get the sense that if you get one over on me then the fight will end then and there just because, your not that type of dude. So I fight differently depending on who I go against, really for the sake of having a lengthy and dramatic match.

My characters aren't homicidal maniacs... they're just punishers.
Ideally I just want to trade blows. If that leads to win then all the better.
With that said. I am sad to see the one of the only two who should win this thing go.
I think Jay and Jello's fight is the perfect balance of everyone's ideologies.
Those two exude cooperative competition.

Colonel Iyam A Heita Those two exude cooperative competition. Yeah. Jello and Darkest Silver Won Roleplaying. Doesn't matter who wins. They both won the RP.

I am reading their fight hoping that I can gain that caliber at least once before this tournament is over.

As much of a d**k I am and how I harp on details and what not. I always try to make the fight the best I can make it and despite the urban legends, I try to work with my opposition.

We shall see...
In other news... even if Jay wins...she's out of the tournament when Heita finds out she almost killed herself.

What Tres and I should have done, but didn't do...for all the wrong reasons...was have a fist fight.
In our last battle, between Dith and Tres, things were going GREAT until we stopped trying to be real men. While we were punching each other, there was a level of admiration and respect...It was mono-e-mono.
Just like this time, when we stepped away from that and got into our kits/powers, it stopped being fun and turned into a problem.
Had we engaged in hand to hand this time, we would've had a much better time...and a much better RP. Though, I could be wrong. xp

Slash Zinrai Just like this time, when we stepped away from that and got into our kits/powers, it stopped being fun and turned into a problem. Punching things is what I think, despite our differences we can agree on. It certainly turned into a problem. I did not help to alleviate that problem. I was upset at you for reasons, but being rude didn't help.

Nothing good comes from Jay stuck in a kitchen. She sooner plot your death just by trying to be a good housewife.

Man, in all seriousness, it's completely cool. I understand your rationale, and I can honestly say I would've gotten mad were I in your shoes. Really, the best fight for us would be Tres v. Dithakar...They are similarly built, and could just brawl it out. Maybe one day. sweatdrop
