*When keria awoke she was on her bed in the bed room. She was layed on her stomach, veria sleeping, her back bandadged up. Shortstraw however was sleeping too. Keria was actully in his lap to giv eher comfort when veria worked on her wound. It was no quick fix, but she did her best with what she had. paradioa however, the only other one int he room at the moment was sitting next to keria in his shadowy human like form, "the fooooool will not come near you again mistress...." he replied being only his eyes actully showed looking down at her, the rest of him just a black smoke floating in the air. He would answer any questions she had, but he also looked to shortstraw, "the boy thinks he can hold you on your stomach so you do not open your wound mistressssss... be slow i fyou move..." he wounded eye squinting.

Kiera didn't even try to move as she just laid there, tired. However she coughed and found that it stung a little. "Thanks Paradioa. I really appreciate it." Why did that stupid guy do that? Now she was sure that they were never going ally with him. He just ensured their decision. So what was all that for? And she guessed her back didn't heal so well because River was a Phoenix too, cancelling each others abilities. Urgh, that sucked. Once again, she was made powerless and the people around her had to pick up the pieces. She was useless. Useless and stripped of her Phoenix dignity. s**t, that hurt more than the wound itself. She just brought one hand to her face and rubbed away the need for sleep.

*Paradioa shied, "i wish to hunt him down mistresss... take what he took... will you allow it?" He asked. Surly it wouldn't be hard, he could finish this guy no problem. However he more or less wanted to make his mistress redemption worth it. "I guesssss that the wings of a phonix is it's greatest power... as you father had once stated to you i do remember it so... it may have also been a way to taunt you to fight back... vengence. He plays games... mistressssss..." he replied looking to her. "I am... your shadow... use me as you willl...."

Kiera let her kind heart get in the way. "No, I don't wish this kind of thing on anyone. Especially family. And with all these allies he's collected... Who knows what this guy has planned." She shook her head slowly. "Don't do anything yet. Give me a chance to recover. I can almost guarantee I won't be thinking straight at the moment." She buried her face into Shortstraw's lap and just wanted to cry and cry. Paradioa was right, and Kiera knew that she wouldn't be able to fly again. Never.

He nodded, "Vary well mistresss... but do not think too hard either..... i will be only a call away, for in the shadows i will stay...." he then got up and walked over to the coffen, "and the snake women... she talked of a fix when your seprated... keep that in mind." With that he entered his coffen and dissapeared. Shortstraw simply hugged her alittle in his sleep, but only her head.

A couple of minutes later, after Kiera found that she couldn't sleep any more with her thoughts, she attempted to get up. As she slowly brought herself up to a kneel, she made sure to keep her back straight as she winced at the stinging. She turned her head to see Asher. Asher looked to her pitifully. "You all right?" Kiera blinked slowly and carefully shifted herself around. "Better than I was." Asher looked to the bed guiltily. "I'm sorry." Kiera swallowed hard. "You couldn't have told me sooner. Not while I'm still chained to Veira." Asher huffed. "But this wouldn't have happened if I didn't get tricked." Kiera would have shrugged, if she could. "Everyone makes mistakes." Asher looked to Shortstraw and Veira sleeping, then glanced up to Kiera again. "He knows about everything." Kiera was skeptical at first. "Everything?" Asher nodded, Kiera rolled her eyes. This day was just getting better and better. Asher hopped off the bed. "I'll tell Cyril to make you something." Kiera smiled. "Thanks Asher."

*Veria's eyes slowly opened next but she reamined, "i am so not use to waking up so fast..." she mumbled as she streached. She smiled and looked to shortstraw, "poor guy was running around worryed as hell. Took a while just to get him to sit still." She looked up to keria then closed her eyes, "feeling any better then before? I did what i could, however it appeared to be extreamly hard to fix, harder then i thought."

Kiera smiled over to Veira. "Yeah, I think I'll be fine. Thanks, Veira. For helping me. I know I would have been screwed if you weren't there." She frowned. "That was really humiliating, though. I got shown up by one of my own kind." She looked back in front of her stubbornly. "And our cousin nonetheless." She bit back more anger. "Urgh, It really pisses me off."

Veria shied, "Calm sister... you must stay calm. You have been out for two days, and i have work alittle on the cuffs, but they are still attached." she giggled, "you know the hardest part of a birdy like you and dad, and such? What makes them so rare, and ifficult to deal with?"

Kiera looked to the bed in thought. "The Phoenix gene is actually supposed to be really not very dominant. Which is why we all didn't come out like Phoenix's. Most other genes are very dominant over it." She frowned. "It seems the Guardian gene is just as recessive.." She carefully reached back to gently touch where the stub of her wing used to be. "And It's melted into our personalities to be difficult from the day we were born." When she felt nothing there, her frown grew. "The wings are the greatest part of a Phoenix. They're its pride and identity."

*She nodded, "Yes all true, however. When a phonix dies, it turns to ash, and then it is reborn form it's ashes. I'm not saying you should die, beinf that it may not work becuse of the other half of you, but what i am saying is the fact it turned to ash, which means there is a chance they will grow back. If not, then i'm sure when we're free from eachother i can sergicaly put one back for you. Free of charge." She chukkled at the last bit and shook her head, "see i don't have much of whatever that is you speak of. I did not recive much from either side. Fire, and mind games. thats i got out of both of them. The rest of me is pure reptile. Venom. I do have alittle pride, but not much. Dignity, ha, like i need it." She looked to Keria, "however so sister you will recive your wings back. Have no worry. And being you always keep that coat on, no one but us will know. And we can keep that a secret untill your wings are back to save what little pride and idgnity you have left." she giggled. "We are almost bonding arn't we?"

Kiera smiled over to her sister then shut her eyes again. "I guess." She brought her hand up to her face and rubbed her temple softly. "You've done so much for me already. I can't really ask for more." She said quietly. Kiera remembered something suddenly, which only made the moment more sentimental for her. As if she needed that. She laughed weakly and curled herself up into a little ball. "Surely older sisters aren't meant to be this useless."

*Veria giggled, "usless? Oh no, i find you interesting. As i said somtimes i look up to you. In wonder what it's like. Everyone loves you, looks to you with big eyes. Even shortstraw..." she looked to him, "and to tell the truth sister you help me sometimes without knowing it... it's somtimes imbaricing to talk like this for some reasion..." her tone got alittle softer, "but your a good big sister even when were enemys. You never did anything to hurt me, or anything of the sort. I use to hate you becuse i wanted to be like you. Then when shortstraw came up, i hated you becuse he wanted to be with you instead. But honistly, i guess i come to terms with it. I relized that maybe if i supported you i could be welcomed from time to time. To not be the hiddious bad girl everyone believes i am... sorry i'm talking to much again... i do this when I feel sorrow." She looked away, then to the cuff and she pulled out her little kit and started working on it again.*

Kiera smiled weakly, but stayed compacted in her tight little ball. "Heh, I'm the opposite." She nuzzled her head into her arms. "I only talk a lot when I'm angry. I tend to not talk so much when I'm sad." She nodded. "More room to mess up." She laughed anyway. "Sometimes it's not so good, being up on this pedestal. People expect a lot out of you sometimes. And you have to live up to what they're expecting. Or come tumbling down." She relaxed herself. "And you're forever stuck in the perpetual loop."

*Veria shook her head, "not when you have so many standing there to keep you standing up on that stool. There are so many that will do more then alot for you. Did you know that even dad is afrade of me. He told me when he came back he wouldn't be afrade anymore, but he tries so hard to aviod me. he scare i will take his last life away from him. Now that i am older and understand things more then i used to, i wouldn't do such a thing. Eve is rigth about one thing, support is what keeps the strong standing, even when they are weak. Becuse the strong can never always be strong. Thats what she told shortstraw which gave him the idea of the brotherhood." she made a face as she took a tool and reached slowly into the side of the cuff and fiddled with somthing, "interesting..."
