Lin thought about it, because she knew Iorlas could have changed since then. Not drastically but there was no longer the shadow of her sister hanging over her (but Lin does wonder if there is still grief).
"She is shy, she use to keep to herself before traveling with us, but she is very nice and very kind. Thoughtful... good with children..."
She could still recall when Miyuki was young and her spending time with Iorlas. Lin though paused after that, because she had known Iorlas mainly with the fear of Loreth hanging over her.

"And she very much enjoys scolding Daeron," Earendil added with a twinkle in his eye.
Rhea laughed. "Good. Someone needs to. I look forward to getting to know her. And of course, Aethos-sola has gone and gotten himself engaged. That's more than anyone had dared hope for, I think. Does that mean that his personality is much changed from when he left here?"
Earendil grinned. "What do you think?"
Rhea blinked. "I hardly know, I haven't yet spoken with him. And I probably won't, until tonight at least. Her Majesty will probably spend the whole day with him and Alassëa. There must be much for them to talk about."

Lin chuckled at that, "It's like watching someone live for once."
Since what Aethos had been doing before really wasn't to be honest.
"I missed the whole beginning of his transformation though," Lin added, "I had taken Miyuki back to Gaia for another visit. Earendil could tell you more than I."

"Well, the first thing that happened when we reached the Borderlands was that Ulani gave him a talk," Earendil smiled innocently.
Rhea's eyes lit up. "Nako did? Do I dare ask what kind of talk?"

Lin rolled her head to the side to look at Earendil, and just simply to give him a look.
"That smile isn't as innocent as you think," she told him plainly.
Anything that involved Ulani and Ulrich couldn't be explained with any sort of innocent smile. Especially when it involved someone like Aethos had once been.

Earendil chuckled at the look on Lin's face. "Well ... I wasn't personally present when she gave him the talk, but from the information I was given, it was something about ... half the people in the Borderlands were royalty of some degree or other, and don't expect to be treated any differently than anyone else just because he was also royalty."
He rubbed the back of his neck. "I think she scared him. He avoided her for a while, and if he couldn't avoid her he was pretty silent in her presence."
Rhea laughed aloud. "And he was frightened of me, before he left," she giggled, her eyes sparkling. "He just doesn't get any breaks from us."
"But he's different now, so take it easy on him," Earendil chuckled.

Lin nodded at this in agreement, "A lot has changed for him."
Which was good, and all for the better, though he had some bumpy moments for sure.
Meanwhile Miyuki giggled as she watched the endless amounts of energy that the two eevees seemed to be having.
"Aren't you two tired yet?" she asked them.

Eon was chasing after Ai, still as energetic as when they'd first begun, but when Miyuki asked her question he squeaked and pounced on her foot.
Andarien giggled. "He says no."
Xion and Rhiannon both looked up at Andarien in amazement. "You understand him?" Rhiannon asked eagerly.
Andarien grinned. "Yup! And Ai, and Ponydash, too."
The Ponyta, which was standing nearby, perked up its ears and looked at Andarien when it heard its name.

"I can only understand Ai, and that's because of the training we do together," Miyuki added.
Though she was sure if she stuck around Eon and Ponydash long enough she could understand them too. She didn't know why, it was as if her mind was just translating what they were saying even though it sounded like squeaks or whatever sound the Pokemon would make.

"What kind of training do you do?" Xion asked curiously.
Andarien stroked Ponydash's head silently. He was learning archery a bit (he had been promised more opportunities to practice while they were here), but that wasn't training, not in the way Miyuki trained. And he didn't do that with his Pokemon. And because of where and when Ponydash had hatched, it had barely gotten any training in at all.

"We go through forms," Miyuki replied, "Though of course Ai's is very different from mind, I work with the staff and hers' is just her body, but it allows us to see what the other can do. Sometimes we set something up as a mock target so we can get use to working together without accidentally getting in each others way, and we meditate together..."
Miyuki had also called out attacks, but rarely did so since all Ai knew were physical attacks. Being a protector, Ai needed to know how to work without commands more than the average Gaian Pokemon.

"What kind of things can they do?" Rhiannon asked curiously, her green eyes wide and eager.
At that, Andarien turned to his sister and grinned. "Mi, can we show them with a mock battle? Eon doesn't get to practice much because Ponydash is always in his ball!"
Besides, it would be good for Eon to be pitted against someone his own size for once. It was a bit unfair to pit him against Ponydash, since the Ponyta was both too tall and too fast for most of Eon's attacks to land properly.

She didn't see why not, it was always good for Ai to practice and unlike Eon, she didn't have a practice partner unless it was Miyuki. Though like Eon, it wasn't fair to Ai to deal with someone much bigger than herself.
"Sure," Miyuki nodded, "Why not?"

"Outside," Earendil said immediately, overhearing the children's conversation.
"Why don't we all go outside?" Rhea suggested. "It's a beautiful day, not too cold. At least, nothing like the Borderlands."
She had a bit of a wistful expression on her face, and it was clear that she was thinking about her family; but she didn't ask. She knew after all that Alyse was one of the people on the trip, so she knew she could get relatively recent information about her parents easily enough.
"To the courtyard?" Xion asked.
Rhea thought about it. "That should be fine," she agreed. She beckoned for the others to follow her. "This way."

Miyuki nodded as she motioned to Ai to follow. She remembered the courtyard it was spacious and had a neat place for people to stay and sit and have a talk.
Lin got up off the seat and held her hand out to Earendil. Though he didn't need help up, she just wanted to hold his hand.
