ｋｉｎｇxx ｏｆ ｈｅａｒｔｓ▐ ➟ For the first time since Illo's arrival, Donovan looked at this strange man. "W-What's so funny? Wait! What do you mean it isn't strange?" Donovan zoned out right after he said he could read minds. He can read minds!? T-That can't be... but then again... Donovan laughed just a bit to himself. "I believe you." When Illo went on with his inspirational speech Donovan felt an overwhelming sense of joy. It was probably because he was talking to someone so similar to him. It wasn't until Illo mentioned demon slaying that Donovan took one step back. "I hope that means only evil demons, but I'm still listening. The setting seemed perfect, Illo's speech just fit the mood. "I don't know. Why?" Donovan looked at Illo with great enthusiasm for what he'd say next.

what happened:

It is because I will it to be so. I, a normal human, have at least that much power. Illo paused to pick up a stone. He showed it to Donovan and continued.
This stone is in my hand, only because I envisioned it to be. What if I envision it to be on the other side of this lake? With that, Illo took a step back, widened his stance, and flung the flat rock with a mighty toss. It skipped once and made a great, bouncing impact on the mirrored surface of Death Lake, and it skipped until it was lost in the light. The only way to track its voyage was by the sound it produced, but, unlike the rocks that didn't make it, there was no iconic "plop" that signified the rock had run out of flight.
When a man perceives himself as cursed, he changes the world around him into a hell that cannot be escaped.
However, if a man knows himself to be what his heart wishes him to be, there is no stone that man cannot fling, no mountain he cannot overturn, for the world will bow to him. Some call this faith, my son, and it starts with having faith in yourself. Illo bowed to the youth.
Now, of course I only vanquish the evil demons... Does this mean you are a demon, my boy?

So what your saying is that I shouldn't see it as a curse but as a gift, or something along lines. Treat my powers like a gift and envision success... Got it." Donovan was truly grateful for Illo's advice, but it'd be awhile before he started calling his powers anything but a nuisance. "You don't have to bow to me. I'm not worthy of such respect, and as a matter of fact I am. I don't look it really, but I am. Surprising, isn't it? Although I don't have any super crazy strong powers, I'm more human than demon."

Hmm? I don't understand. I bow so that I may lower myself and lift you up. This is why I bow to everyone. The monk may have to expand on that later, but for now he was impressed with Donovan's willingness to share. Oh, I believe it. I have encountered many demons, most of them quite human. And I have encountered many humans who are quite, well, as the prejudiced would say, demonic. Illo smirked. You say "human" as if it is a sign of weakness. I am sorry, friend, but you cannot be more wrong. We humans... Are quite capable. Illo stared into the setting sun as he said this. He was counting the hours that must have passed since his last awakening. It wasn't enough, and like it or not he'd have to honor Melani's rule for the moment. Of course, I perceived my own strength from nothing, and I believe you can do the same.
Suppose I was to tell you demons are weak... What would you tell me?

While making his way towards death city leo would see a great lake, The sound o a rock skipping along the surface of the water would draw his attention towards the source Two men spoke amongst themselves The taller man was cloaked from head to toe while the other looked to be a student or at least someone closer to his own age.
Leo smiles he calmly ducks into the nearby trees where he crawled through the bushes and along the tree branches, he held his breath to muffle the audible sound he created minimizing his chances of being seen as he made his way closer to the duo when he was within twenty meters he could hear there voices they spoke about demons and strength.
When Donovan confirmed that he was a demon and Illo calmly confessed that he had met multiple demons in his life leo was shocked, He could feel his heart begin to race within his chest he calmly breaths in small doses as to maintain his silence there was no telling if the two men were friend or foe he only knew that they were not human.

With time flying by so fast he wondered when he would have to leave. "If you told me that demons are weak I can't say I'd really care. They are depicted as strong beings but I'm sure that there are some that are weak."

Illo nodded at Donovan in his last sentence's last few words to show he knew where the boy was coming from.
Ah, forgive me, I worded that wrong. What I meant to say that is that Demons are more often than not "strong" because they are viewed that way, while humans view themselves as weak and are typically viewed as weak by demons. The combination of the two perceptions in both cases is what creates the illusion of limits for human and demon kind alike. He stopped there to make sure the boy understood him. Also, he was quite human and dull in this stage, and so didn't notice the eavesdropper in the foliage near them. He also had no real way of measuring Donovan's strength in this state, as his soul perception was non-existent. So, he studied the boy's philosophy closely, for he always held that the mind was a transcript of the soul, that it connected it to the body in physical thought, wants, needs; and if he was to know the boy's soul-strength as a demon, or the status of any soul for that matter, he would and did develop a certain decoding faculty for that--because walking around everywhere with a third eye is just silly!
It may be a bit forward, but can I ask what it is you want to achieve in life?

Donovan was glad that he could understand what Illo meant, meanwhile he didnt have any clue of who was watching. "What do I hope to achieve in life?" Donovan paused, for a long time. There was a long silence as a breeze flew by. "What I want to... What is it that I want?" More time passed on and he still couldn't answer the question with a straight face. "I-I don't know... Perhaps I'm still just too young..."

There! That explains everything. You feel as though you are weak, unable to do much, because you don't know how to envision what it is you want to accomplish! But, there is something that you should know. Illo found a stick nearby and was now making some kind of scratch in the sandy dirt to his left. He first drew a circle.
Within this circle is all you know, and all you will every know cannot leave this circle. It is how you see yourself. He drew six more circles around it, each with wavy lines coming into the center circle.
This is the knowledge you acquire from others; and it stays in your circle, though you can never see it, the way others perceive you. He drew a circle around the whole thing, and added dots and lines here and there.
There are an infinite amount of these, he said pointing to the dots,
points of influence; where the perceptions of many agree on one outcome. If you wish to become strong, you need only align your circle with one of these points, so that it will become a reality that agrees with your dream. The monk stopped there.
It looks like the first thing you must do is learn what your dream is, and then you can take these steps to achieve it.

Behind cover hidden in the foliage leo would listen as they spoke little by little he was studying Donovan and Illo like a predator stalking its prey he was waiting or the feeling of evil or contempt to rise from a demon and a demon slayer but neither seemed to seek destruction in ace they were civil and kind to one and other.
the monk who drew circles in the dirt spoke about dreams and goals he was like a teacher training a student to co exists with there classmates, Leo would smile upon seeing such kindness from the men he viewed as threats just moments earlier. A rock is sent spiralling from within the trees across the surface of the water where it would skip a total of five times before disappearing into the lake this would be the only sign that someone was watching donovan and illo.

So I've got to align the circle with another, the circle aligning itself would be me... But how will I find my dream? Whenever I think about it I end up with nothing, no leads what so ever. Finding a dream is hopeless for someone like me..." And just like that a rock appeared, it seemed to come out of nowhere. "What? Is someone there?" Donovan turned around to see if there was anybody there.

He was cut off by the sound of a skipping rock. It was just a casual look-over at first, but when he found no one was there he raised an eyebrow.
It seems as though someone has been admiring our conversation. He spoke loud enough to be heard clearly, not at all as if he was speaking to Donovan exclusively--which apparently he wasn't!
Who's there? Come, you needn't be bashful, or, lest you be an assassin; you needn't be cowardly.

Calling out from the trees his voice would echo as to obscure his hiding spot, `` Aye spying on others in indeed a cowards action but i wanted to see for myself if you were a danger to the academy `` Leo emerges from the bushes his hands were down by his sides while his bandages still carried fresh blood stains, He takes our steps out of the tree line as to stand across from both Donovan and illo.
`` Headmaster would probably scold me or interacting with demons but your philosophy was interesting from where i stand it sounds like you were saying
dreams give rise to strength from which people will recognize and add to with there own circles or dreams ``
Leo raises his right arm and smiles warmly to match the tone in his voice `` I apologies for my sneaky actions but before we can continue any further i need to ask are you a threat to the Dwma academy being this close to my home has put me on edge ``
His aura was strong like that of a wolf protecting there pack as he would wait for an answer.

Interesting... You think I'm a demon. To the contrary, I am human, and the janitor of the school. This demon means no harm, I can assure you that. Illo bowed to the man with a fist in his palm.
You are interested in my talk of power, yes? This is the way to achieve a dream; the way to manifest any reality your heart desires. You may use it as you wish, for that is its nature, but I must say that it is not so simple as it looks-to follow the path.

Donovan didn't move. "You do realize that demons are a common thing now, right? I'm sure there are plenty disguised as humans, which is fine because times are pretty peaceful, in death city anyway. The relations between human and demon, witch alike, are good. You really don't have to worry yourself with me." Donovan couldn't lie, he was a bit intimidated by Leo's presence. His emotions came off strong.
